Extra Curricular Information

I'm pretty far along in my cycle so I am going to post specific information now. Hope it is helpful to those judging their chances this year or next year.

Worked in a patent law office as a patent researcher for one year.

Worked as a research scientist in a biochemistry lab doing my own research project for one year.

Graduating in 3 years. I am only 20 years old, but I have a pretty good variety of experiences.

In a professional chemistry fraternity: Alpha Chi Sigma.

Phi Betta Kappa

Lots of travel experience. I have spent a summer in New Zealand, a good amount of time in Italy, Ireland, Peru and Belize. I have also travelled pretty extensively throughout the U.S. This summer I am going backpacking throughout Western Europe as well as Japan and Australia.

I think I had above-average recommendations, they all knew me well. One was from the head of the lab that I worked in, another from my creative writing teacher who I was close to and a last one from my TA for a class on international affairs.

A pretty good PS on discovery and how I bring a unique view to law school based on my experiences.

I'm interested in IP. Any suggestions/opinions on where I should go would be welcome.

quick decicion
Friday, June 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

Wow, you got your g-town decicion very quickly after being complete. Congradulations. This definitly gives me hope that mine will come any day now because I went complete on the same day as you. Perhaps they just sent you a decicion that quickly because you have exceptional numbers though(judging by the other schools you are applying to). Mine are a little more borderline so it might take them longer. Anyway, good luck!

congrats!

Congrats on your acceptances. I supposed you're hiding your other applications until you've been accepted?

Temple Scholarship
Sunday, August 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

You should adjust your offered Temple $$ as it may confuse others. Temple's most significant scholarship is the Beasley at circa $50K total, not $100K.

wow

Has your status changed on Columbia's website?

Thanks!

That keeps alive my hope that I'm still in the first batch of acceptances, and that it's my mail room's fault.

congrats
