Please contact me with any questions or if you've been admitted to any of the same! :)

2/1 Kicking off this cycle...hopefully it's a good one! I've wanted to go to law school for a long time and have taken the LSAT a few times but have not been able to raise my score. I'm a firm believer that low statistical factors do not necessarily indicate how well you will perform in law school. That being said, I also believe God is good and my fingers are crossed I will get in somewhere! Where there is a will, there's a way.

2/2/10 In at Coastal! YIPEE! I'm going to law school, kids. Beyond relieved! In through the AAMPLE program, but this is better than nothing. Very thankful.

Continuing to churn out apps- I know some of these are longshots (ie Case, Seattle) but you never know! Seattle has a summer program for folks with low statistical factors - hoping they'll fall in love with me over my app. Would really love to go to Case because of their Law, Technology and the Arts concentration. I'm interested in going into media law, so hopefully this works out!

2/4 - Received letter via snail mail from Capital that they received my app. Status checker info inside, as well.

Finished submitting apps to UofL and WVU (both long shots, I'm well aware of this).

2/14 The waiting game is killing me!

Friday I got a large white envelop from Northern Kentucky - large viewbook. I knew it wasn't/couldn't be a decision bc the status checker still said "in review." But seriously, stop teasing me!

Seattle hasn't even notified me that they've received my application. I sent it OVER 2 weeks ago. Annoying. I'm thinking I'll email/admissions tomorrow or Wednesday.

Ohio Northern finally dropped me an email regarding a change on their website...except they still have yet to acknowledge receipt of my application as well. Although I'm thinking if I got this email, I must somehow be in their system. Maybe things are slow/backed up? What the hell.

Based on Status Checkers...I'm in review at the following:
-Capital
-Northern Kentucky
-Akron
-West Virginia

The rest are complete, though. I'd like to think if I was a total rejection at some schools they could let me know asap. Just so I could cross them off my list. (Patience is clearly not one of my virtues)

2/16 Yesterday I got an email from ONU inviting me to interview for the Summer Starter Program! Woohoo! I didn't even know this existed, so it was definitely a pleasant surprise. If the interview goes well, I'll be admitted to a no strings attached program that begins at the end of May (I won't be cut from the program depending on GPA). In the process of setting up the interview, so I'll keep you all posted.

2/17 Rejected from Akron via email. I knew I was going to be dinged eventually. Now that I think of it, I would have picked Capital anyway. Although always nice to have options, ya know?

Interview at ONU next Thursday. Go team!

Now in review at Toledo.

Decision rendered at Capital. Oh goddddd why can't they just email it! I really don't know. There are few people who get in w/ my numbers but I have solid softs, recommendations, etc. What's meant to be will find a way!

2/19 Ding ding ding....reeeeeeejected! Small white envelope. Thanks Capital. I sort of saw it coming/half expected it but I still had hope! Kind of. Oh well, your loss, not mine!

Decided to apply to a few more schools...

2/22 - Decision Rendered yesterday at Toledo. Rejection today via email.

2/24 - Interviewed for the Summer Starter Program at ONU. I think it went well, but it's hard to know what I'm up against. Everyone I met was great. Very friendly, warm and welcoming. No, the location is not desirable...but I really felt like the school has the student's best interest in mind and provides a solid education. We shall see!

-Rejected at NKU via email. Aaaaaand what else is new.

2/27 Almost a month and Seattle has yet to even email me any sort of info to check my status. I emailed them and they did receive it but come on. If your admissions takes a month to get things in order why in hell's name would I want to come to school there? It's the little things, people.

Not feeling positive about any more acceptances, if at all. If only my LSAT were a few points higher this would be a different story. Oh well...I'd just like to know what my options are and decide where I'm going. This has been the longest couple of weeks ever.

3/1 - Seattle has officially acknowledged my application! It's a Christmas miracle, it really is. Complete with status checker and decision pending. Well, it's about damn time. I say at least 2 months before a decision is reached.

3/3 - Decision rendered at Louisville. I figure this is probably another fabulous rejection. Judging from others' profiles...rejection and acceptances are both emailed. Sooooo anytime now.

3/4 - Rejected from Case via email. Was kind of hoping for a miracle. Oh well.
Rejected from Louisville via email. AND to round out the day...rejected from Hamline via email. Surprised about Hamline- I thought I might have a chance at their Founders Enrollment Program. Apparently not.

Decision rendered via status checker at Indy.

3/7 - Rejected from Indy via small white envelope in mail. Not winning.

3/14 - Decision rendered at John Marshall (Chicago) via status checker...apparently this will be mailed. Oh please, just spare me the wait.

3/15 Rejected from Seattle via email.

3/16 Rejected from John Marshall (Chicago) via small white envelope in the mail.

Starting to get frustrated/lose hope that I wasn't accepted to ONU's Summer Starter Program. I just find it really hard to believe they haven't made a decision in the last three weeks since my interview.

On that note, also starting to have my doubts about AAMPLE, and contemplating applying to a few more schools. fml.

3/21 Rejected from St. Thomas via small white envelope in the mail.

Still no peep from ONU or anywhere else. What's meant to be will find a way.

3/29 THE FAT LADY HAS SUNG! Or, at least, one of the final aria(s). Accepted to ONU via phone call!! Beyond thankful. So excited. I will *probably* be attending. If, by some miracle there are more acceptances (Pitt or WVU), I will reevaluate in the next two weeks. No idea why they haven't flat out rejected me yet, but I anticipate it.

4/6 Rejection from John Marshall Atlanta via email.

4/11 Rejected from Pitt via status checker. They certainly took their time!

4/12 Accepted to Widener and invited to TAP.

Congratulation on your first acceptance! I saw we applied to some same schools too. Wish a good luck for both of us.

Thanks! I think it took about a month or so to hear back from Capital. My top 3 are Kent, Loyola, and Toledo right now. Hoping for Capital?

Hello! Thank you! Im excited about being accepted to FCSL and super relieved it was for the full time fall class! Im thinking that I will most likely go there, unless, for some miraculous reason I actually get into U of Hawaii...its a little bit of a toughy trying to know where exactly I will go because my fiance will need to find a job, so as of now hes looking for work in Jacksonville, and, if he gets a job in Jacksonville, then we will got to FCSL regardless..We will see though. I really like the advisers and staff at FCSL - theyve been so helpful and accommodating since they started contacting me back in October. All I know is I'm relieved that I have somewhere to go in the Fall and its located in a great city. What about you?!

There was no indication on the status checker. as a natter a fact I assumed it was a rejection until, while stalking athe postman, saw the big envelope.

Looks like you had a rough weekend with law school decisions. I got the rejection e-mail from Toledo this morning. Ouch. Keep your head up!

Hello!!! We are both in Florida Coastal. If I do not get in anywhere else, that is where I will be. I hope to see you there and please e-mail me to see if we get in touch. I wish you the best!!

Hola Bunny!

Thanks for your reply. I don't want to argue in front of the Supreme Court for a living so as long as I have a JD and pass the bar, I will be happy. I got into the full time program. Please keep me updated. I received an acceptance from Cooley today, so that is another option. I think I have to leave Miami and my fellow Hispanics for a while. lol Take care

Hey we're applying to some of the same schools! I wish you luck, I'm so nervous! We have basically the same GPA and LSAT too!

Hey! We have similar numbers and I was wondering what you thought of ONU? I got an email today asking me to come out for an interview. What types of questions did they ask and in your opinion would you like to go there if you were offered admission? I am just curious because I live really far from Ohio so I was just wondering what you thought of the whole thing?

Sunday, November 21 2010 at 07:00 PM

Yea I feel you. I am waiting for this whole application cycle to be over. To answer your question I am not sure what school yet. Originally I was just going to go to the cheapest school which is most of the HBCU's an Ohio Northern but that was before I got wait-listed at Maine. Hmmmm I guess I will just have to wait until my entire cycle is over before I make a choice. Hopefully Floria State takes me hahha yea right lol.

Sunday, November 21 2010 at 07:00 PM

I have had doubts about ammple from the start. Also, I have not considered that school yet. I think i have applied to all the schools that I will. I have covered all my bases so now it's time to play ball lol

Sunday, November 21 2010 at 07:00 PM

Remember when I said we might end up at the same school? Well I just received an invite to interview for Ohio northerns starter program. Tell me what you know lol. What do they ask?

Thank you. Good luck with your applications as well. Are you planning on staying in Florida? I've been in Central Florida for the past 26 years or so and could definitely use a change of scenery. I have also worked at Florida A&M University College of Law for the past three years. Hey there. Yeah ONU invited me to interview for their Summer Starter Program. They want you schedule an interview and fly up there to meet with them. I just can't afford to travel up to Ohio nor do I have the time right now. Best school I've been accepted to is Roger Williams. Originally from Rhode Island and still have family there. Sent them a seat deposit just in case I don't get in off of any waitlists. I'm waitlisted just about everywhere else. First choice is Univ. of Tennessee, then either Univ. of Louisville, Mercer, Samford, St. Louis University, Pace, or Univ. of Baltimore. Trying to stay close to Atlanta where my fianc lives and attends law school. I actually work at Florida A&M University College of Law here in Orlando. Several of my professors are tenured, visiting from other schools, served as previous law school Deans, and are on the ABA accreditation committee. They've given me tons of valuable information on schools. Let me know if you could use any insight.
