Anyone have any idea how the desparity in my stats will stack up at these schools?

Thanks for the advice, I'll look into the PT programs! Do schools normally like the LSAT over GPA, considering work experience?

Re: Good Luck

I graduated in '04 from a top 20 school. I had a double major in Engineering and Economics. My GPA had an upward trend, but obviously a very slow start.

another one!

just wanted to say welcome and good luck to a fellow splitter...

Good Luck

I hope that we both get into schools we will love!!

Good luck...

on the gulc waitlist - not as good as an acceptance but still better than a NO, right? it means there is hope...so i am hoping the best for you~

you'll be fine

BC are number whores, and you'll definately get into schools like Emory and Maryland and American. did you have any GPA trend, or was it 2.5 throughout?

stw is not a splitter, the knucklehead.

Good luck

Looks like GMU is consistant, deferring both of us with the same numbers. Hopefully American won't be since they rejected me. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Low GPA
Wednesday, October 12 2005 at 08:00 PM

I think I do have a good explanation for my low GPA, plus my soft factors are good enough for a waitlist at Georgetown. I have hope.

you should be applying
Wednesday, January 25 2006 at 07:00 PM

to u-illinois and washington university. they'll take you with a 170 regardless of gpa.

wow
Friday, August 12 2005 at 08:00 PM

man, I am so soory that this cycle is not going well for you. You absolutely rocked the LSAT - not just anyone can earn a 170. Keep your chin up, something will come through.

CONGRATS!
Thursday, October 20 2005 at 08:00 PM

On GMU!! They are my #2 right now and I am on the waitlist. I can't believe you managed to get off this early. I think Anne Richards has been the most helpful and receptive Dean I have encountered this cycle. Alas...you are going to law school!

Congrats on GMU!

Looks like your persistence paid off! I got an acceptance call today as well (from a male asst. Dean) saying they just finished looking at my app and I was accepted! I really wonder if the ad. comm took my high GPA/low LSAT at the same time they took you off the WL with your low GPA/high LSAT--splitters unite! :) The way the 25/75 percentiles work I really wouldn't be surprised! Anyway congrats! I've heard its a sweet school/location--I plan on visiting soon. The jury's still out on 9 of my applications so I'm not sure where I'm headed right now, but GMU is pretty attractive at 21k/year tuition...

Details PLEASE?!
Thursday, October 20 2005 at 08:00 PM

What did you say to Anne Richards to get off the WL so soon. I plan to visit next week and submitted a letter of continued interest today. What were the nature of the magic phone calls that got you off? If you don't mind, can you e-mail me?

grats!

dude congrats on being accepted, you give me hope!!!

W & L waitlist
Wednesday, November 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

Based on your stats and the fact you haven't heard, I predict a W & L waitlist. Sucks, but a least its not a rejection.

You give people on the waitlist hope...so did you really call her every week? I am trying to get in off NU's waitlist. Also, what made you choose GMU to pursueso hardcore? Congrats! You guys had a great run in march madness!

Gtown waitlist
Wednesday, October 12 2005 at 08:00 PM

I hope you like George Mason...DC is wonderful. As to your regular v. preferred WL questions; I'm also on the regular waitlist at Georgetown, so I called to check on it. The Admissions Office usually places a few hundred people on both and "exhausts" the preferred list before even looking at the regular list. It sucks, but maybe in July or August we'll hear back one way or another. Good luck!
