Additional info & updates

2/11 - Waiting to hear from UF/FSU. Applied to FSU in October but they are holding my application.

2/23 - Still waiting, wish I was a minority right about now...

3/11 - Still waiting...stop being nubs and withdraw from UF/FSU, so I have some chance...

3/14 - Went to FIU today for an admitted students reception. Was very impressed with the faculty, facility, and what seems to be a very challenging curriculum.

3/16 - Received $10,000 a year to go to Nova, which is not enough to convince me to go there. I was hoping for a full scholarship. I withdrew from there and Miami. Still waiting on UF/FSU. I figured it would come down to me going to a public university because of the money.

3/20 - Sent in deposit for FIU to be safe. Still waiting on UF/FSU...

3/24 - Rejected at UF. Not that surprising unfortunately, so I will be saying peace to Gainesville come May. FIU is my likely destination at this point.

4/13 - FSU is super lame and STILL hasn't let me know if I got in there or not.

4/27 - Still no word on FSU, I will be a Golden Panther and rooting for Isiah Thomas to not corrupt the basketball program come fall!

Good luck, why are they taking so long? The waiting is killing me too. Im waiting for FIU and Nova, both part time. I am like you, i hope people are withdrawing as soon as they make up their mind. Do you think that is the known "etiquette" for law school applications? Anyway I'm sending hopeful vibes your way!!

I have heard rumors about very strict grading at Florida Coastal, and I was not interested in the first place to go there, I applied because it was free. Stetson is a school I was interested in, but I can't justify the tuition, and since I received no scholarship money, I withdrew.

sent in deposit already?

I noticed that your profile says that you will likely be at FIU next year. I put my deposit down the other day there. Good luck with FSU, but I look forward to possibly seeing you next year.

Have you heard anything from FSU yet? Good luck!

Nova

It was by mail... I called and said I did not have the money to attend and that I would be going to FIU instead and two weeks later I opened my mail box to see a scholarship/work study letter from them. I kinda jumped the gun though, because about 30% of their offer was actually a loan, but they called it an "award" instead of loan. I found that out later. But I am still attending FIU... or atleast over Nova.

Any word on FSU?
Sunday, January 25 2009 at 07:00 PM

I have one school left that has not contacted me... its pretty lame that some schools still have not made decisions after 95% of deposit deadlines have passed.

Yeah

But when I called FIU to ask about it, they said the graduate grant was from them. I went to grad school last year and I didn't get a grant (from fasfa & not at FIU)... but either way a $5,000 grant from anywhere is great news! It is especially great when tuition is only $10,000 to begin with. So congrats to you too my friend haha Still no news on FSU? I have not heard from my last school but as of now it doesnt really matter.

When I found out that I will be receiving the $5,000 grant, I basically made my final decision to stay at FIU. I mean, tuition for three years will only put me in $15,000 debt I just cant see going anywhere else.

FSU?

Dude I know that you have heard from them by now?

FIU Question
Friday, August 15 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey my name is Ryan and I just got accepted into FIU and I was wondering if you had a chance to visit the school and why you chose it over Miami. I am from California and don't know much about FIU's location in Miami. What type of area is it in etc. I also wanted to know if it has a good reputation outside of Florida or do most graduates end up working around the Miami area. If you could offer any insight or if you know alumni or anything I could e-mail I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time. Ryan
