Additional info & updates

June, 2008: Haven't updated in forever. Decided on UO, withdrew of UW waitlist. I'm bad with uncertainty.

4/15/08: Sent my deposit to UO. Still haven't decided on the UW waitlist, but I'm leaning toward not riding it.

3/27/08: Withdrew from Seattle. I'm going to stay in Oregon.

3/26/08: Had a great time visiting LC & UO. Came home to an email from UW saying I am one of about 100 people on their waitlist. Now I need to decide whether or not to stay on it... Comments, anyone?

3/13/08: I don't know where to go to school. I wish UW would get back to me sooner, not later. Spring break is coming up, and I'm going to visit law schools. I can't wait to stay in a nice hotel in Portland. L&C, thanks for the hotel hook-up.

2/21/08: Finally, U of O! Acceptance in big envelope with $8K/year scholarship.

2/11/08: Big envelope from Seattle U with $15K/year Presidential Scholarship - but I'd have to stay in the top 25% of the class to keep it...

1/24/08: First acceptance! Big envelope from L&C with $18K/year scholarship offer! Whee! I'm going to law school!

1/7/08: Complete at UO via email.

1/4/08: Snail-mail letter from L&C saying they've received my app. Checked online status checker & I'm complete!

1/3/08: Email from UW -- my application is complete!

12/18/07: Emailed notifications from UO and UW that they've received my apps.

12/14/07: UW app sent.

12/13/07: Well, no actual notice of receiving my app from Seattle, but I am able to access their status checker, so I'm going to call that app 'received.' ... Decided to apply to UW on a lark. Felt like I needed to apply to a school that's a bit of a reach.

12/10-12/07: Well, I've sent off the apps to the only schools I think I'll apply to. Of course, I am obsessing that I screwed something up.

Actually, dominrrican, has me beat. I only wrote one. For some of the schools that wanted it crafted as to why their law school or shorter or longer I tweaked it a bit. Other than that, it wasn't too difficult.

Thanks alot!

thanks for the kind words. Good luck on this cycle.

Good luck. Are those really your numbers?? You should have no problem getting into any of those schools.

I wish I could say I had the same fondness for the upper-midwest. The pacific northwest and

The pacific northwest and new england regions are #1 in my book.

Good luck

I am also in love with the Pac NW and have applied to most of the schools you have (substitube Wash for Willamette). I wish you the best of luck! What is your first choice?

I'm not sure which is my #1. I think it all depends on financials as all four place really well with jobs in the area. I currently live in Portland, so I guess that might give L&C a slight edge. I added you to my watchlist. Be sure to let me know when you start hearing from schools.

Is washington your #1 choice? If so, then good luck! I think you're in good shape. It looks like that's where I'm leaning towards as well, but of course it depends on where else I hear from.

I can't decide whether or not I like the fact that those schools out there are so relaxed...it fits my personality well, but I just want to hear from one of them already!

thanks!

i'm freaking relieved.

YESSSSS!!!
Wednesday, October 19 2005 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on L&C! First acceptance AND $$??? Can't beat that!!! ...although you will. I'm sure there's just more good news on the way.

Good luck! (u don't need it)

Hey are you from Southern Oregon area by any chance? I know Siskiyou mtns, I grew up in that area and I currently attend UO. I know some law students there, say great things about it. You have great numbers! Are you only interested in oregon/was area schools or something?? Well good luck! I'm pretty sure you're going to get in everywhere

I was saying that after hearing from UPenn on Wednesday, everything else would be icing on the cake...I just had no idea how sweet and tempting that icing would be! ;o)

Totally joking about the Cooley thing. Glad someone noticed.

yup!
Thursday, December 27 2007 at 07:00 PM

yeah I definitely wanna get out of here. I did my undergrad here in Oregon too and I'm just ready to explore the world. Maybe I'll come back to practice though... looks like you're pretty commited to life here. Good luck again...you'll def get in everywhere!!

thanks!

I'm really excited. UW has been in the back of my mind because I never thought I would get in. I'll have to start giving it some serious thought. It seems like a really great school. Good luck to you this cycle. I'm sure you won't have any problems. What is your first choice?

Student day
Sunday, September 09 2007 at 08:00 PM

No word on a student day. I just received an email though. I would guess it would be in the actual letter. If I hear anything I'll let you know. I've never been to Seattle so it would be a big decision for me to go out there. But anyone I know who has ever lived there really loved it, and they are all confident I would loove it too. I'll definitely go for a visit sometime soon.

UW

Hey! I wish you the best at UW!! Congrats on L&C.. the bastards waitlisted me, haha. Hope to see you in September :)

Yeah Seattle's got the flatery strategy going. Charge way too much in tuition, give half your 1l's scholarships contingent on being in the top 25% and pay for them with the excess tuition from the half+ who don't make it and pay twice what they would at UW for year 2 and 3. If you get into UW I would suggest taking that instead, especially if you can get in-state. Then again, UW only charges out-of-state for the first year, so its still the better deal. So, good luck with UW

Oregon!
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

So how excited are you to get into Oregon? Is it your top choice?? I know I'm THRILLED!

UO etc.
Tuesday, January 08 2008 at 07:00 PM

I like how I complained about UO on your page and 40 min later I went home to an acceptance. I was hoping I could have Oregon residency too. I think living in Bend for 18 years counts for something even if I don't live there now! I'm leaning towards UW right now though...we'll see. You should have no trouble running the table with your scores and making your decision even tougher.

UO
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the heads up, I much appreciate it. I was actually more interested in buisness/international law. Would I be wasting my time with UO if I wanted that? The reason I'm so interested in the school is 1) the location and 2) the cheap cost of attendance

UO
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks so much for all the input, I really do appreciate your advice. I intend on visitng the school, but i have a crazy schedule going on right now at my undergrad trying to finish my honours thesis, so I won't be able to make it to an admitted students day. I've already contacted someone at teh school about this though, and she said it wouldn't be a problem for me to tour the knight center independently. Are you going to a admitted student day?

UW...
Friday, November 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

wow... UW still hasn't gotten back to you?! What assholes. I really hope they get back to you soon!! Still wishing you luck!!! And congrats on Seattle U! I'm totally torn between UW and Seattle U now... gah.

UW
Friday, November 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

I can't believe UW still hasn't gotten back to you!!! I've sent my deposit in to UW so that's that :) I can't wait. THey're being super slow, as usual though, on my financial aid package. Ah well.

Congrats on all your options!
Wednesday, January 16 2008 at 07:00 PM

Our numbers, schools, and scholarship amounts are pretty similar (but I got rejected from UW). Tough call on the UW waitlist-especially since you got money from the others. Personally, I liked L&C better than UW because they were so much more personal and approachable, but on the other hand there are the rankings...

Decisions, Decisions...
Thursday, October 18 2007 at 08:00 PM

How's it going? Picked a school ( L+C or UO?)?
