and good luck this cycle! I'm sure you're going to get into a lot of your schools. I agree about Northwestern. You stand a great chance with your LSAT and work experience.
Good luck on your cycle. I think you have a great shot at each of those schools. How'd you get the fee waiver from Utah? They're stingy with those.
Thanks for the comment! Utah was coming to a law fair at ASU and sent me an email beforehand asking me to stop by their table for a fee waiver. It was very nice of them, and in the process their Dean of Admissions Reyes Aguilar convinced me to apply.
(forgot I wasn't logged in with my last response...let me try again) Hey good luck this cycle. I'm thinking you'll nail most of these places. And I'd add Iowa (to answer your question): Iowa City would be a good place for a family, and its relatively cheap. Why not Colorado or Illinois as well?
I considered Illinois, but in the end I didn't think my family would be happy there. Re: Iowa, I just thought 10 schools was enough. I hope I don't rue that opinion!
We've applied to 5 of the same schools and have similar numbers. I'll be watching you! Sorry about Minnesota. I'm sure you'll have a great cycle nevertheless. Good luck! -siguradam
Glad to hear the interview with BYU went well :)
Psst. Go to Minnesota!
Hi, You mentioned that you sent a letter of continuing intrest to UMN after you were deferred. Did you just send the letter to the admissions office address, and did you get any sort of confirmation that they had recieved it? Any advice for someone who is also hoping to get accepted from the deferred pool (although with not as nice of an LSAT as you...) Thanks! Molly
Congratulations!
Congrats! I am especially glad that they are receptive to letters of continued interest.
just lost some respect in my book for your wl
Hey Dude it's Data from LSD. Wanted to officially congratulate you on Univ. of Minn!! Awesome you got some money out of the deal too. I need to learn from your strategy in terms of getting from Defferal-->Acceptance-->$$$.
I just got a deferral letter from Minnesota...what'd you say in your letter of continuing interest that convinced them to accept you?
Thanks, Man. Yeah I think we all know where I'm headed :) So are you actively pursuing a waitlist-admit from Duke? i.e. keeping up with all the letters and staying in touch... or, are you happy with Minnesota at this point?
I'd look at your profile before and it seemed as if you were leaning toward UMN; what made you choose W&L over them? Was it just the money? Also, did you visit UMN? If so, what did you think of the school and the city of Minneapolis?
Edit: I'd LOOKED at your profile before... I should really avoid typing when half-asleep
You should consider applying to Northwestern. Word on the street is they love work experience.
