not sure I want to go there. I'm getting married in June, so there's a lot that's going to go into the decision making process, much more than I can completely work out at this point. So i've applied to about a trillion schools, when i get acceptences i'll narrow it down to a few schools, visit them, and make my choice. hopefully i'll start hearing something soon and I can get an idea of how competitive I am.

you too!

congrats as well on fordham! no, unfortunately I didn't get to go to the georgetown group interview--I'm studying abroad right now. I applied early action though, so hopefull I'll be finding out relatively soon...

I just saw your comment about the Duke e-mail... I just got one today too, and have been freaking out as well... Good luck to us both?

Wow... especially now that I see we have near-identical numbers... and one identical major... and the same race and gender...

congrats

on duke! it's good to see nyu kids kicking some ass already this cycle.

congrats

yeah, i've removed it now... don't know why I was so non-confident... guess I didn't want to get my hopes up... but congrats to you on Duke, too! Now we take our near-identical numbers through the rest of the process! :-)

I appreciate the information! Unfortunately I had little confidence coming into the app process so I wasted time on too many safety schools. I'm hoping for Penn but it'll have to be my lucky day. Take care.

good luck

I'm in a bit of a fight with Penn right now... Are you planning on submitting anything extra?

I know, it's a pretty bizarre compilation of school choices. I suppose that's what happens when a girl from the Midwest goes to school on the East Coast and becomes geographically conused while applying to law schools... Anyway, at this point (in terms of "first choice"), if I got into Columbia by some feat of God, I would go in a second. For now though? Probably going to write a "Why Penn" essay and see what happens. What's your first choice as of now?

Congrats!

On Vanderbilt. Very envious. I have a feeling you would go to one of the other schools you've already been accepted to, however.

Hey, I'm sure ave maria isn't a concern to you with all the amazing schools you're in, I was just wondering if your email said anything about a scholarship before you recieved it in the mail?

Ave

Thanks :). I only really applied there for hopes of a scholarship, so I was worried when the email didn't say anything.

Hey we applied to and got into pretty much all the same places! right now im deciding between georgetown and duke, and i would appreciate any insight you may have. basically between those schools its small class sizes(duke) vs. the big city(gt). where are you thinking bout goin?

re: duke vs gtown

I agree with a lot of what you said. Duke is slightly more prestigious, especially in the south, and they do have very nice small classes. However you are mistaken about DC's size, when you factor in the metropolitan area DC is the 8th biggest city in the country, with something like 5.5 million people. Im sure Raleigh-Durham is a decent sized city, but it doesnt compare at all. I really liked the Georgetown reception, so i am definitely gonna go to the Duke one too. Its really gonna be a tough decision for me, but right now i think id choose Georgetown. The slightly better location is more important to me than duke's slightly better academics, and i have also heard that Georgetown is more prestigious internationally. Either way, my decision is gonna come down to the wire

Cardozo

Does Cardozo ask you to maintain a certain GPA to keep a scholarship or no? Just curious:)

In response to your question, yes the online status checker did indicate that a decision had been made on my application before I recieved any decision in the mail.

Thanks
Wednesday, March 29 2006 at 07:00 PM

for the reply :) I asked a few people about the Cardozo money, and the consensus seems to be that it's definitely not worth it. Many hope to keep the offers, but the competition for getting that 3.3+ is so crazy that not only do many people lose the money, but it also creates a horrible competitive atmosphere at school. Sucks.

hahahahah

not really---i figured if i didn't get into a school i was 100% happy with going to, then i wasn't going to go to law school next year. you goin to duke's asw?
