Additional info & updates

Just found this site and it's pretty cool. Received notification from Gonzaga on Saturday via mail in a medium sized envelope. Scholarship info was included.

John Marshall was the first place I applied and they have yet to request an LSDAS Report. I've emailed several times and they say they will eventually.

I don't think I got a note from Gonzaga saying that my file was complete. I haven't really been keeping track of those notices though...

2/15/06 - Rejected from USF. Bummer - that was one of my top choices. Rejection came in thin letter sized envelope - I knew what it was before I opened it.

3/22 - A lot has happened since I last logged in - anyway, I forgot most of the dates, but in a nutshell:

Barry, Thomas Cooley and Florida Coastal came within the same week, probably two weeks ago (3/4/06). All offered money, I think half tuition.

New England and John Marshall came last week with John Marshall offering $12,000 for the first year renewable and New England offering nothing but the chance to go to a good school in Boston.

Brooklyn put me on the waitlist about a week ago. Asked if I might consider spring enrollment. I don't think I'm interested.

University of Oregon acceptance came two days ago and I'm psyched. Out of all my acceptances so far, this is my #1 choice.

Hopefully I will hear from UT, UNLV, USD and ASU soon as those would fill out my top choices...

4/1/06 Cross UT off of the list - I got the letter sized envelope in the mail and then they updated the online status checker.

Visited U of O and loved it. Pretty sure that's where I will be in the fall...

Totally from the bay! I knew it from your name. So how did you score on your ghetto report card Mr. Fonzarelli. I hope you know what I am talking about or else I will sound stupid. (go stupid) Congrats on all you have acomplished thus far...USF is a conservative school anyways...I assume you are trying to stay in the bay-why no Golden Gate app? Do you think you will try to transfer? I am pondering this b/c of Hastings/Boalt transfer ratio...

U of O

Absolutely do your best to check out any schools you possibly can that you're considering attending. As for me, I visited Wisconsin, Lewis and Clark, and Willamette, and that really helped me realize that Oregon is for me. It was really more of a "gut feeling" than anything. However, everyone was really friendly, the physical environment of the actual law school was a place that made me feel like I could spend 60 hours a week there if need be. Also, they seem to have quite an emphasis on public interest work (which was important on a personal level). Finally, I have a friend that's a 2L there, and he loves it. I hope this helps.

U of O Question..
Monday, February 06 2006 at 07:00 PM

In response to the question from Kingyagu, I was surprised to get into U of O as well. However, I am a non-traditional student in that I have been out of school for almost 10 years and very successful in the business world. I believe my personal statement and LOR were very strong and an upward trend in grades probably helped my case. It just proves to that you should apply as many places as you can and see what happens. Good luck.

How did you get rejected from Seattle U's waitlist? I didn't even know that could happen.

Classmates?
Sunday, October 23 2005 at 08:00 PM

have you made a decision yet on where you would like to attend? i've settled on going to U of O, so maybe we'll be classmates this fall.

Congratulations

on making a decision. I'm from Oregon and my fiancee went to U of O for undergrad, so if you have any questions just let me know.
