Captain's Log:

1-31-07 Received acceptance! Came in a standard-size white business envelope. Said to expect further details on registration, etc. soon. Looking forward to classes with all my LSN friends this fall. Go badgers!

1-23-07 Received email from UW Dean of Admissions saying my file is being reviewed by the admissions committee now. Though this doesn't give me any new info on my chances, it's still nice to have an update on my status. Makes the waiting a tad less miserable. Thanks, UW.

1-11-07 Still no news for me. Enjoying the updates from everyone else, though. Lots of good news out there to enjoy vicariously. Keeping my fingers crossed for all my virtual friends.

12-19-06 Received an email asdvising me my file is complete. But with the holidays nearing, it seems unlikely I will get a decision before the new year. Trying to keep in mind that patience is a virtue.

12-14-06 Other applicants are beginning to get decisions. From the dates they list, it looks like I might hear something around Christmas.

12-12-06 A week into waiting. I am wishing I was applying to more schhols this cycle, so that there was something more to do. Fortunately, graduate school finals are keeping me occupied.

12-5-06 Got another email from UW encouraging me to apply for scholarships. Seems like a good sign, but it's probably just a canned response.

12-4-06 Got an email from UW acknowledgeing my application.

12-2-06 Received acknowledgement from LSAC of my application.

12-1-06 Applied online via LSAC.

Thanks for the comments. Are you applying to other schools?

I am in the same boat, only I have two homes to sell..... I have applied to others but the UW is really my only realistic option when considering financial and family factors. Good luck to both of us!

Thank you so much for your kind post. With such a good LSAT, you should really consider tossing out a few more apps. Good luck!

Env Law

I didn't pick the schools entirely for the strength of the environmental law programs because I want a well rounded legal education as well, but the strength of Indiana's environmental law was a big reason why I applied there. They have an environmental law clinic which seems very cool.

UIUC

Thanks for the congrats! University of Chicago is about the only other school I would consider, but I doubt I'll get in there. I'm just so grateful to be in at UIUC. Good luck to you this cycle!

Location
Thursday, November 30 2006 at 07:00 PM

For me, location is driving my desires. I own two homes in Madison hence the numero uno. #2 is where I figure I might try commuting and hope to transfer. #3 and #4 are groupings of schools representing an equal amounts of pain regarding selling two homes and moving out of state. #5 is a safety.

YES!!

Thanks for the Wisc. congratulations & sorry for the late reply! I'm going to the April 13th ASW, but I'm not sold anywhere yet. It must be nice knowing where you're going this early in the game. Noticed you have a Wisconsin email.... in-state tuition? If so, I'm quite jealous.

Did you get any scholarships from U Wisconsin?

UW Madison

Congratulations on Madison. I graduated UW in 04 for undergrad. I have been accepted for law school but I don't know too much about it. I am out of the country right now and will be unable to visit before I have to decide. Any insight you have would be much appreciated. Thanks and congrats again.

Hi!

I will also be attending Madison next year and am finishing up my masters program in public policy (kinda the same thing as public affairs). What made you chose Madison?
