Best of luck to you on your cycle...I have withdrawn from quite a few places, it is basically between ASU, Denver and American now. I am sure you will end up somewhere great!
Congrats on UK. I'm finished my undergrad there so if you have any questions about the law school, the campus, or the city in general I will be happy to help you out.
I laughed when I saw your apps. We both took the "shotgun approach to admissions'. Classic. "Yea, you will definitely have seasons here in KY and that may take some time to get used to, but relatively speaking the seasons are mild. Lexington is beautiful. I have lived many places and must say that I have grown very fond of Lexington. It is a nice size town (about 240K) so there are good opportunities but it is no NYC. The general demeanor of the population is VERY friendly. All-in-all, it is a wonderful place to live and go to school. The only negative I would argrue is the law building is not very appealing. They are planning on having a new building built in the next few years, but I don't think we would get more than one year's use of it (if that). Let me know if you decide to come up to visit. I will be happy to show you around. Also, you may want to send a message to "tcutts" on here. He flew in and I showed him around the city and school. He would probably be able to give you a more unbiased opinion of the school and the city. If you want to ask me anything directly, send me an e-mail and I'll give you my phone #. Good luch on the rest of your cycle!
I can't imagine how much you ended up paying for those apps! I tried to figure out how much it would have been for me without the waivers and it made my head hurt. I guess being broke does pay off! Haha, good luck on the rest of your cycle.
Congrats on Indiana! I got the e-mail today as well. I haven't visited there yet. Do you plan on visiting? I think it is only a few hours from here so I think I may drive up there sometime. Keep up the good work!
I've talked to some people who go there and they say it is really a beautiful place. The town is a little small but not terrible. I've got a membership to vault, so if you want to read what they have to say about career prospects or whatever let me konw (or any other school for that matter). Have a great weekend.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I'm blown away by both your sincerity and sweetness. I'll be keeping a close eye on your acceptances (as I'm sure you'll have many) so I can be sure to congratulate you!
You love the Midwest? So that means you're from? Went to B-School at Ross (UMich). Thanks for the myspace link. I wish I had myspace or facebook hooked up but I'm sorry I don't. One of these days I'll get ambitious and spill out my heart and soul to total strangers ;)
Well, I've still got 5/11 schools pending, but I'm leaning heavily toward WashU as of now. If I got into Vandy/GW/Cornell, I'd prolly withdrawl from IU and UIUC.
I haven't really narrowed it down too much, although Arizona is in state for me. I agree with you about the Berkeley rejection letter. I actually applied there simply to receive their friendly rejection.
I figured if I applied there, they'd stop sending me mailings telling me to apply. Instead the volume of solicitations has increased. I just got a letter last week asking me to consider applying to Quinnipiac... after they had already admitted me. I would be so happy if I got into Texas. I'm not holding my breath though... I'm not really competive at all there, plus I'm out of state. How do you feel about your chances there?
I am probably going to enroll at Kent in the fall, but still have to take a trip to Iowa. It's a tough decision between Minnesota, Iowa, and Kent though.
Hey Again, thanks for the great comment. Have you updated your LSN? Cuz from here it looks like your cycle isn't even half over?! I'll be rootin' for ya!
Good job on UF. I heard they were expecting a pretty substantial drop in the rankings this year since they are doubling the size of their incoming class (not saying I put much stock in the rankings, but thought you might want to know). Is Indiana still your #1? Keep up the good work.
What prompted you to e-mail them?
Still no word from UofA? Isn't waiting the worst? I think you have a really good chance there. Would you go there if you got in? It'd probably be an easy transition from Texas.
I really want to visit IUB before May 1st. What's it like there? Do you think it's boring to live in a small town in Indiana? I think it could be.
no myspace
Could not agree with you more regarding USD. They started as one of my favorites and after being complete for 6 and a half months without any form of communication I get waitlisted. You couldnt pay me to go there at this point. Just felt like the wait and lack of communication throughout the process was completely unprofessional.
Good luck then. I thought you were excited about Bloomington. What happened? Are you just looking for more $$? Good luck next cycle!
It's all so confusing! Thanks for the good wishes... but I don't think you're right. Are you gonna look at Illinois next cycle? Or are you still going to stick out this cycle and see what happens at UIUC?
It's worth more than $5 if I get in to UIUC, but it's a bet. Did you write a LOCI to Minn? I'll send you mine if you want to get an idea of what I said.
Yeah... it's probably too cold for me too. Apparently it's winter there from like September until April... pretty rediculous. But it's only 3 years.
for the info on MD! I'm regular waitlist so I'll just keep waiting. : )
I'll forgive you though ;)
Have you made one?
I'm bad at decisions, and this is a tough one. So, what are you going to do for a year? Get a job? Isn't that the reason people go to law school... to delay getting a real job as long as possible? ;)
what happened to you? Where'd you end up?
It took each of them about 2 months from the time the application was submitted until they mailed a decision. Good luck to you with your applications. I don't think I have any more acceptances coming. I've pretty much narrowed it down to Cleveland State, Louisville, and Oklahoma City. I really liked the atmosphere at OCU, and it's currently in the lead. I visit CSU in a few weeks, so we'll see how that goes. U of L will only stay in the running if they come through with some scholarship money. I have my doubts about that happening.
