**Word of advice to future applicants: get your application materials in early. The earlier you submit your apps, the better your chances are of being accepted.

** Also, do not let the "numbers game" fool you. Academic indicators (LSAT/GPA) cannot measure one's courage, nor can they measure the totality of one's strengths; therefore, academic indicators, in my opinion, cannot accurately measure a person's ability to succeed in law school or the law professon. Just write your heart out, and wish for the best.

**Thank you all of your support and encouragement. I welcome all questions, or comments via wall posts, e-mails or messages. Good Luck and Have Faith!

I think I will need a miracle to get into NCCU though. I know a guy that had a 155 and a 2.5 and a Masters and got rejected recently. He got into Campbell and Elon and a few other schools. I was surprised NCCU did not accept him. My faith is starting to run out.

Hey!

Study Aids
Saturday, October 20 2007 at 08:00 PM

I saw your question to someone about getting in some preparation over the summer. I definitely recommend reading some study aids over the summer. The Book Exchange in downtown Durham is the best place to get your resources. Curt, if he still works there, is the man to talk to. He knows the best study aids for each subject. For contracts I recommend the \"boat book\" by Chirelstein. For Torts there are some good horn books. The one by Professor Morris is pretty good, but it is strictly for NC tort law. I also really like Examples and Explanations. Examples and Explanations really breaks down areas of the law for you, in particular in torts with negligence and the Erie doctrine and subject matter jurisdiction for Civil Procedure. You would also do well to start trying to find some good outlines. Even though I recommend you do your own outlines, it helps to look at other outlines as a guide. JohnWelch outlines in particular are very popular. One thing you DON\'T want to do is get too many of those casenotes brief books. They really cripple your ability to brief, extract, and analyze cases and it pisses the professors off. Believe it or not, they can tell when they call on you in class and your answer comes from one of those case note books. Hope that helps.
