Looks like a pretty tough choice to me. I would just visit both of the schools if you can and see how you like them. Maybe try to talk to some students at GW and at GULC's PT program and see how they like them. Either way, they're both great schools and I don't think you can make a bad choice.
Congratulations to you :) No, I'm still really up in the air about where to go, although since I'm only waiting on my reach schools, I think I'll probably choose BU, BC or GW. Are you leaning towards anything yet?
Hi, thanks for dropping me a line. Also, congrats on your GULC PT acceptance. Regarding employment, I asked that specifically and he said that this was never a problem for him. People thought more highly of him for having successfully worked 4 years and succeeding in law school at the same time. Nobody looked down on his PT status. I would imagine, however, that if you didn't work and you stayed in the PT program the whole time, that would look bad. Regarding the second questions, my friend never transfered to FT. But he had several class mates you did without a problem. I gather from the various blogs I've read and other people in the program that transferring is all but a matter of paper work. No GPA cutoff. No problems. I don't know what your plans are, but there's no way I'm going to attend GW over GULC PT. lol, open and shut case.
it looks like ill be going to one of BC, Emory, or WM. are you leaning any direction as to gw vs gulc pt? those are some great options. Also, did you do your undergrad in Florida? if so where... and please dont say UF
on emory! how did they notify you?
Wow that's great - quick turnaround time! I'm really concerned because I went complete at the beginning of October, so it's not looking good for me :(. I actually called them a few weeks ago because I was having trouble with my post office and they told me there was no decision yet. So maybe I'll hear this week if they want to get all their decisions out by the end of the month??? I grew up in Miami, so I'm 100% ok with going there, especially since I wouldn't mind practicing there - I just want some closure so I can make a decision!
Although I agree that this is a tough decision, I don't think it is as open and shut as some would like it to seem. If you are fairly confident you can get into FT at GULC then it's a no-brainer. It depends on what you want to study. If you are looking to study say, international law or IP, then I would go with the GWU if FT GULC isn't realistic. Anything else and I'd probably go with GULC.
Congrats on your cycle so far! As for a little perspective, GULC sits at #3 for international law (tied with Harvard) and GWU is #8. Both offer great options and opportunities being in Washington, of course. International law is quite a broad field and -- if your interested in it -- check out their websites for specific programs/courses/study abroad opportunities to find the fit that is best for you.
look like you got pretty lucky with that Emory Scholarship! Congrats! How are you feelin about it?
haha, no im actually glad you didnt say uf, im at ucf looks like i'll be heading to emory, that scholarship is too good to pass up for me. any updates on where you're heading?
On Georgetown!
