Extra Curricular Information

General info about my application process:

I'm straight from undergrad, University of Oregon

Student in the little honors college on campus, not very involved with it though.

I was in forensics and was fairly good but I only did it for one year. Other ec is scattered, run of the mill - couple of clubs, campus band, etc.

I interned for six months in Kenya, working for a non-profit

I worked for a year at a poorly paid campus job, for a brief time over the summer for a legal non-profit group, and on and off for a newsletter on campus

I'm not URM, but I am Indian, I may have marked Asian on some of my apps

My PS was a "why law" style essay, focused on international law because I hope to work in public interest or human rights overseas, generally incorporating sound economic development

I sent a DS to every single school, it was about my background living in several countries, and graduating from a rural American high school

I sent two faculty LORs and one LOR from my internship; all my recommenders seemed quite willing to write recommendations for me, if that is a sign of how good the letters were

I took my LSAT once, no courses, just 3 weeks studying out of books like it was a day job right before the test

I had a slight 'positive trend' in my GPA (from 3.4), and had all As in my eventual majors.

----------

That's quite a bit of info; if anybody has questions please feel free to ask... I know I appreciated every detail of these profiles just a few months ago.
----------
One last thing; if anyone is interested, I wrote my Yale 250 on a quasi-economic/game-theory concept.
Basically I wrote about how social systems have two equilibria, and you can incite revolutions when the society is stuck at the deficient equilibrium by convincing people they have already passed the 'tipping point' toward the better equilibrium...if that makes sense...it's even harder to explain in less than 250 words.
Also, I should mention this is not a completely arbitrary topic for me, it ties in vaguely with my PS so it should, in theory, tell a bit more about me.

Additional info & updates

NW accepted but asked me to defer for a year and get some work experience, but after that I could get a full ride
----------------------------

I'm officially done!
All schools in, cycle is finally over. I've updated some more information about me now that the reviews are finished.

On your acceptances; I have to admit, I'm totally jealous of your Yale acceptance! Best of luck with the rest of your apps; but I imagine you're already deciding btwn H & Y?

On wrapping up such a fantastic cycle! Are you leaning toward Yale, given recent events? :)

first of all, i would like to extend my congrats on your acceptances and accomplishments thus far. second, i'd like to apologize for not getting back to you sooner. i was visiting several schools out on the east coast. i suppose i can write a 10 page paper to explain to you why i want to go to law school, but i will keep it succinct and spare you your sanity. ever since i took a business law class during my undergrad, i knew i wanted to do law. in order to be better prepared for that path, i decided to get a phd. i know it's overkill, but i don't regret it. hope that answers your question!

congrats

Very interesting Yale 250 topic. I read a paper on that very topic regarding industrialization in third world countries. Good stuff.
