1/09- All applications are in and complete.

1/22- Rejected from Univ. of Baltimore, not unexpected but a tiny bit surprised given that I used to work there...That's ok, several more schools to go!

1/23- Applying to Hofstra, received fee waiver.

1/24- Rejected from Miami, not a big surprise but discouraging as received two rejection letters in two days.

1/27- My status at Nova went from "In Review" to "Committee Review." I just called and the Admission Counselor said that it means that they could not reach a unanimous decision on my application so it's still being reviewed. I am starting to feel a bit anxious about this cycle. Maybe I should consider taking the stupid LSAT again...

1/27- Accepted to Nova's AAMPLE. Does anyone know anything about the program???

1/29- Received letter from UDC yesterday stating that my application is on hold! I dont know how to perceive that... I wrote a letter expressing my continued interest in the school and program. Starting to feel really low about my chances of getting in anywhere...

1/29- Waitlisted at St. Thomas. I am considering taking a prep course, retaking the LSATs in June or October and applying for 2010.

2/27- Waitlisted at Hofstra. I was pretty suprised to be waitlisted at a T2 school!

3/3- Sent another letter to UDC. Still have some (small) hope that I will go to law school in the fall...

4/3- Waitlisted at UDC. I was surprised not to receive an acceptance or rejection after waiting 3 months for a response.

I am really bummed! Just got my LSAT scores yesterday. I actually studied for over two months... I do not think I will retake the test....

I know what you mean about the LSAT. It wasn't exactly my favorite test either. I took it 3 times. The first time I canceled my score, the second time I got a 142 and the third I got a 145. The third time I took a month off work and drove over a thousand miles away to take a Test Prep class. The class was immensely helpful... I was hoping for a minimum of a 150 on test day, but I guess my nerves (or tiredness) kicked in at the last minute and so I ended up with a 145. 3 times is definitely enough for me... I want to get on with my life and start law school and a career!

Best of luck to you, you have a lot going for you! I know that law schools will look really highly on your work experience.

Thank you for your message and support! Wow, you have a phenomenal background. I'm currently working on refugee issues and what you've done thus far is amazing!! All that work experience is definitely a great asset for law school. Stay positive and strong, and don't worry about the negative things that people might say. When you want something really bad in life, you have to keep going at it. I'll be tracking your progress and wish you the best of luck in this cycle! We're going to make this happen! :)

St. Thomas

Hey there, I heard back from St. Thomas today, but on my profile I put 1/16 because that was the date of the letter that they sent to me. Best of luck to you, also! Do you know anything about St. Thomas's conditional program, how hard it is to pass and how many students are competing in the class?

On their conditional letter it says that the top 20 % of the class is admitted. But it doesn't say how many students are in the class... I think that makes a big difference, too.

Talk about same boat. I feel you. I crammed the LSAT and got 155 from 145. it is doable. If you don't get into another school and have time to just cram the AAMPLE i say do it. I hear it si like boot camp but it counts for some prereq class and it gives you one up in year one as they are real classes.

I just got accepted to AAMPLE too, have you heard anything about it yet? It's my best chance yet I think, but I'm not sure how to come up with the money.

Tuesday, April 15 2008 at 08:00 PM

I got into AAMPLE. I probably will not do it unless it is my LAST resort. I am moving out of FL in 2 weeks to NC and I have been living in FL my whole life. I am ready for something new! Good Luck!!

I have not heard from nova. do you know how i get on to the status checksr???

Saturday, July 12 2008 at 08:00 PM

I received a letter saying that my application has been put on hold. I don't expect anything from them soon, so i decided to withdraw. Considering i got into U of Maine, which is a higher tier, better reputation, and much more affordable(adding in the cost of living). Good Luck to you in the rest of the cycle. God Bless.

I also got accepted into the AAMPLE program. I am probably going to do it since my only other option was FIU.

Monterey College of Law

Hey, I was just surfing this site and I ran across your profile. Your numbers look a lot like mine. Have you ever considered a Cal Accredited Law School. I am just about to finish my first year at the Monterey College of Law and have enjoyed my experience. Monterey College of Law reviews your whole resume and not just the numbers. Some great perks are we are on the Beach, the tuition is less than 50K for your entire attendance, our professors are practicing attorneys, and many student are returning to grad school after working or starting a family. My campus focuses on helping the student not just learn the law but how to prepare for Bar. If you have any questions just shoot me an email. Good Luck, Wendy
