Nova Decision Made
Wednesday, July 09 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey, just wanted to let you know my Nova application status checker went to "Decision Made" yesterday (16). Haven't gotten the email decision yet though!

Thank you
Wednesday, July 09 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yes, I slept like a baby last night. Wonderful knowing that I'm all set no matter what. I'm rather surprised I got my acceptance so early. Good luck to you!

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

Goodluck! Keep me posted!

have u received your nova decision? mine says 'in review'...im wondering what the difference is? lol

nova
Monday, July 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

mine still says "in review"...why do they have all of these phrases that basically say the same thing? lol ideally id like to be at miami or fordham but perhaps those are prob reaches. whats ure first choice?

oh geez
Monday, July 21 2008 at 08:00 PM

my nova status changed to 'committee review' also! ahhh! i cant take the waiting any longer!

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Good luck to you too. FSU is my top pick, but I'm still waiting for my LSAT score (December test) so I'll have to wait and see if I scored high enough for it to be a real option. FL Coastal is my other favorite. I want to do Environmental Law and both of them have programs in it. Which is your top choice?

Friday, October 24 2008 at 08:00 PM

Campbell has a great reputation inside of North Carolina. However I would be weary about attending if you intend to leave the state. They had the highest BAR passage in the state last year, meaning they beat DUKE (granted they leave), UNC and Wake.

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I'm actually a NC resident working on my MA in FL, so that's why I'm applying to a lot of NC schools. My fiance is a FL resident so we can pick either state and get in-state tuition. UNC is a great school and the campus is really nice. Is there a reason your GPA and LSAT score aren't posted?

Monday, August 11 2008 at 08:00 PM

Hey, thanks for the nice comments. At this point, any school that accepts me is a good choice! I would like to go closer to home but we will see what happens. Once I see who accepts me then I will decide. Yeah, our numbers are extremely similar. What schools do you think I have a good shot at in the Southeast?

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Hey, has Elon requested your LSDAS report yet? They say they have received my application but have not requested it yet. I wanted to make sure I didn't have to pay the application fee.

Tuesday, February 19 2008 at 07:00 PM

Charlotte will probably cost you close to 150,000 when its all said and done and I just can't justify that. I also applied to the Delaware campus for Widener. Good luck with all your applications and just let me know if you have any questions about NC, been here all my life.

Friday, October 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks...good luck!!!

Wednesday, October 01 2008 at 08:00 PM

Good luck with your cycle! I'm kind of in the same boat as you in terms of LSAT score. It sucks! Hopefully schools will be more generous to you than they have been to me so far.

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I'm glad to see that your back. I had wondered what happened to you. I went to respond that elon had finally requested mine and you were gone. I saw that you were back when I looked on the Elon page today. I've noticed there are some arrogant/dumb people on LSN, but don't let them get you down. Your scores and GPA are good enough to get you into at least some of these programs, and maybe all of them. Ultimately, it's up to the opinion of the admissions people making the judgment call. If the comments came from other UNC people/applicants, some of them tend to (for lack of a better phrase) have a stick up their butts. UNC people can be a little snooty, but a lot of the people that go there are very nice and not arrogant. Good luck with your cycle and I'm glad you've decided not to let them keep you from being an active participant at LSN. I know this site has really helped me with the application process so far.

Campbell
Saturday, November 10 2007 at 07:00 PM

Sorry to hear about Campbell. I am really nervous about getting in. How did they notify you and were you checking the online status? My file is currently under review. Good luck with the rest of the cycle!

Elon
Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I'm sorry about Campbell. I have a feeling my status will say the same fro them thing pretty soon (I'm currently "under review"). I was curious if you ever heard anything from Elon. I sent them an e-mail asking if my application was complete or if anything was missing. I was told that is was complete and they hoped to let applicants, who got their stuff in before March, know whether or not they're accepted before Apr 1st. I was a little surprised that it's going to take so long to hear anything.

Campbell
Saturday, November 10 2007 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the info! Good luck with your remaining applications! This is my second cycle...last year my lsat was 145 and I only applied to Ga. State, Mercer and JM Atlanta. I did not even get waitlisted anywhere, it was really disappointing. I took the lsat again and got a little higher, so hopefully it will work out this cycle!

Campbell
Tuesday, February 19 2008 at 07:00 PM

Sorry to hear about Campbell, but I wouldn't worry. You've got a lot of potential with a lot of those other schools. Have you applied to NCCU? Might be a good backup plus they are the most bang for your buck of any law school in the nation. Glad to see your back on LSN.

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I haven't heard back from Charlotte as to whether or not my application there is complete. They were quick in replying to my other e-mail so I may have sent it before its completion or while in review. Did they say how long it will take once the application is complete? Oh, on the other comment you left, I agree that you will have some better outcomes in your cycle than Campbell. I think Candyman has a point about NCCU. I applied there myself. The tuition is really cheap compared to most these other programs (plus it has full approval unlike Elon and Charlotte). There are other programs you may want to consider as well like Barry or Nova. Barry seems to be pretty generous with the scholarships from what I've seen so far. (I'm hoping they are generous when looking at my app as well.)

Charleston
Monday, June 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

Yea, its pretty absurd if you ask me. I actually a bit upset because Charleston is a beautiful place and i think has a lot to offer. The only thing is-as im sure you know- our decisions need to be made up by mid-april and to first get a decision then is asking us to wait a long time. As of right now i think im going to attend at Nova but i am waiting on a lot of letters. (praying for FIU)

NC
Tuesday, February 19 2008 at 07:00 PM

I really haven't decided if I'm staying in NC or not if I get accepted to other schools. I'm actually really interested in this Masters/PhD program for Stategic Intelligence Studies up in DC. It really depends on where my gf gets a job. Charlotte seems to be having a good reputation so far except for the fact that they charge you an arm and a leg.

Monday, June 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

well good luck with getting into unc....i didn't apply bc i thought my numbers were way out of reach. what do u know about charlotte law??? besides the stuff on the website have u heard anything good orbad about it??

Nova

Did you ever hear back from Nova? I am curious...

Nova, part 2
Tuesday, November 25 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congrats! Were you awarded full admission? I got into their AAMPLE program. I am not sure what I will do but I am excited that it isnt a no!

CONGRATS!!!!!

nova
Tuesday, December 30 2008 at 07:00 PM

hey, how did nova contact you? teh waiting is killing me. good luck on your cycle!! looks like you are doing well :-)

AAMPLE
Tuesday, November 25 2008 at 07:00 PM

I think AAMPLE will be my last resort as well. Its terribly expensive, especially when you are not guaranteed a spot. I would have to complete the program online which I think is another disadvantage. Do you know much about the program?

Wednesday, September 03 2008 at 08:00 PM

Goodluck with UNC, I'm also a low lsat scorer with a masters. I say shoot high and see if the soft factors really do make a difference.

Charlotte
Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I got my letter from Charlotte today, so you will probably hear from them pretty soon.

Charlotte
Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thank you. Hopefully that acceptance will stay the same. I had to send an application correction to Charlotte today. I found out that the underage drinking ticket I got when I was 18 had not been removed from my record and was instead "dismissed." So, I had to make corrections to all of my applications. FL Coastal said it wasn't a problem. Charlotte said that it shouldn't be a problem, but that they had to look at it. The stupidity of youth follows you forever.

Charlotte
Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I think it will be ok too. They said they'd only get back to me on it if it turns out to be a problem, but they didn't think it would be. That's a very good sign. They would have been a lot more formal if it was a no or if they didn't know anything yet. It sounds like you're probably in but that they can't say it over e-mail (they didn't tell me over e-mail either). =)

Monday, December 29 2008 at 07:00 PM

Just curious how Widener notified you. I'm also an applicant.

Widener
Thursday, February 21 2008 at 07:00 PM

How do you know you are accepted into TAP? I checked my status and it says "accepted" but now I am wondering if I was "accepted" into TAP. Did your status check specifically say TAP?

Thanks
Tuesday, February 19 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats, I'm really having a hard time deciding on which program I want to choose. Its basically a choice on which career I want. Congrats on Widener btw!! I've heard nothing but good things about them.

Good Luck
Thursday, February 05 2009 at 07:00 PM

We have similar numbers, I wish you the best of luck!

First Choice
Thursday, February 05 2009 at 07:00 PM

I'm actually not quite sure what my first choice is. I want to go into Navy JAG, but that could all change in law school. Franklin Pierce looks good because their Dean was the former JAG of the Navy; Roger Williams has a course in Military Law. But on the higher ranked, St. John's and Seton Hall are close. I went to St. John's undergrad, so hopefully that counts for something lol.

Waitlist at UST
Sunday, January 11 2009 at 07:00 PM

I actually sent them a LOCI via email when I confirmed my spot on the waitlist! So I don't think its too early at all. I plan to send a handwritten one a little later if needed also! Hope that helped and good luck on the WL seems like a good school!!!

Waitlist at UST
Sunday, January 11 2009 at 07:00 PM

handwritten=typed!

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thank you! Oh, what is a LOCI?

Sunday, January 11 2009 at 07:00 PM

The majority of the schools I have left are top choices (except william mitchell & hamline) because I really would prefer to be closer to home so PA,VA,TN,MD even GA, OH, or MI would be preferable areas to land in! Congrats on Charlotte, must be nice to maybe be able to stay in the area! I seriously wish schools would just let us know already...schools know whether they want you or not shortly after they read the application! Why make us wait!

Charlotte
Thursday, February 05 2009 at 07:00 PM

Thanks, If it wasn't 10.5 hours away, I would have given it more of a look. I'll be withdrawing within the next week or 2. I feel bad to send something back right away after they spent a bunch of time on my app. Hopefully my spot will go to you :) Good Luck!

Hi there
Saturday, January 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

I am hoping to do employment law and civil litigation. I am going to try to go in with a completely open mind, but that's what I did as a paralegal and am going to keep up my PHR. Right now, my first choice is Alabama, but Samford is pretty close because of its trial advocacy program. Of course, with SC being in-state for me, it's up there as well. I'm ready to get some decisions from the state schools so that I can make a fully informed decision. Good luck to you through this cycle!

Paralegal/HR
Saturday, January 05 2008 at 07:00 PM

I was a paralegal before I moved into HR over 3 years ago. I obtained my PHR while in grad school under the student status and then obtained the necessary 2 years of exempt experience to get full certification. I withdrew from Charleston because it was the least convenient for my husband's work and the cost of living is so high and we are attempting to get through law school with the least amount of debt possible.

Withdraw for you!
Monday, October 27 2008 at 08:00 PM

I just sent in my withdraw to St. Thomas for you! I hope that puts you on their acceptance list for Wait listers! Good school (I have a old debate team mate who is an alum from there and he speaks HIGHLY of it) but to much $ compared to state schools for a poor boy like me! Best of luck!!!

Top choice
Monday, October 27 2008 at 08:00 PM

I wish you the best of luck getting off the WL for St. Thomas! My first choice is University of Montana. I want to continue to live in MT and practice law here. Also two of my UG room mates are @ U of M.

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I'm ready to have answers on all of my applications too.

some advice
Sunday, September 14 2008 at 08:00 PM

Don't get discouraged about taking another year and taking the LSAT over again and getting into the school YOU want! Take a course (I'd recommend Testmasters/PowerScore) and I'm sure you will do great. One more year of waiting is nothing (especially for us non-traditionals) in the long run and it will pay off with great dividends! (PS-I did this)

Elon
Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

No. I didn't know they were having one. I haven't heard anything from them since they said my app was complete and that I wouldn't get a decision until Mar/Apr. Please let me know what you think after the open house.

Elon
Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

I just got home from working all day and I'm tired. I looked at the message and saw that it wasn't entirely clear after I'd already pushed the button. Please let me know what you think about the program after you visit with them at the open house.

Monday, March 09 2009 at 08:00 PM

It's 65K/135K subsidized/unsubsidized on grad. staffords, I think. Gplus and private don't have a limit, I don't think>

Monday, June 02 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks!!! I see you withdrew from all your acceptances...where are u going to go then???

Sunday, December 07 2008 at 07:00 PM

So, what's going on? Most of your schools are off your list now. I thought you had quite a few more that were pending. Did you withdraw from all of the others? I plan to withdraw from Charlotte next week. My fiance didn't get into UNC-C, so we won't be moving to Charlotte. Is CSoL's waitlist ranked or a general pool?

good luck
Wednesday, February 18 2009 at 07:00 PM

thank you and I hope Carolina sends you some good news sometime soon!

Hey
Wednesday, February 25 2009 at 07:00 PM

Hey, whats new with your cycle? UNC sent out some acceptances today I heard did you get anything??

UNC
Saturday, November 10 2007 at 07:00 PM

Any word from UNC yet?

UNC
Saturday, November 10 2007 at 07:00 PM

Wow...that's terrible for them to make you wait that long! I'm really excited about Campbell. I have heard so many good things!

Wednesday, February 25 2009 at 07:00 PM

hey did u hear anything??
