Additional info & updates

I threw my hat in this year to the only school where I feel I could attend without moving my children and wondering how to pay for school, a place to live and my current house payment. I made the mistake of getting all of my rec. letters from Central Alum and therefore they all said "Central is the place for her" (they knew that's where I wanted to go.) So, if I was to apply to other schools I would have to go out and find all new letters.

LSAC was not nice to me and I am wondering if I am the only one. They took a VERY long time, even after they had my information, to get it in to Central. I put it all in on New Year's Eve and it wasn't sent until FEB!! After a phone call a day from me they finally turned it over, and even then the information was wrong and had to be pulled back off and corrected by sending hard copies to the school. I am upset I HAD to pay for their help, as it was very far from helpful!

I want to go to law school so bad next year my bones hurt, and I don't know how I will react to the rejection letter I feel I am sure to receive. My information went in so late and it is said that so many more applicants than usual threw their hats in early this year.

I have heard from friends that they did not get accepted this year, all are crushed. I have been looking forward to going to law school for eight years, I suppose if I have to wait one more year it won't kill me :)

4/5/10 They just updated my file online, it has TODAYS date, but the status is still the same It still doesnt show a seat depo due, I wish it did sigh.... Current Status: Complete and In Review
Current Status Date: 4/5/2010

4/29/10 - "I'll tell you this much, they only take this long to make a decision if they're gonna decide to screw somebody!" -- Paul Giamatti, Cinderella Man
Still no news.

5/3/10 - OK, now they are just getting a giggle out of me. Status checker date changed again, to today's date, but there was no update in the actual staus: Current Status: Complete and In Review Current Status Date: 5/3/2010. This makes FOUR times the date has changed but not the status... ANYONE know what this could be?? I didnt apply for four programs.. just two!
Complete and In Review on 2/28
Complete and In Review on 3/5
Complete and In Review on 4/5 and now
Complete and In Review on 5/3 .... any ideas??

Decision Status: Decision Rendered
Decision Status Date: 5/7/2010

Seat depo due part is totally gone... hummm. so here is where I wait to see if it is this year or if I am to re-apply in five months... we will see.. sigh

I did apply to both. I see on the web that because I applied to both it could be JUNE before I hear back. I hope its positive news and eariler than June as studient loan information is due in June!! What date did you apply? I'm worried that the late app really killed my chances.

Good luck

Good luck with NCCU!

I haven't actually said yes to Campbell yet. So, I don't think that should matter. I was rejected from NCCU almost a month before being accepted to Campbell, looking at their trends from past years, NCCU has rejected a lot of people with scores above their median, almost like they want to maintain their median (not raise it or lower it). But thanks for the input, Good luck to you!

I think you have a good shot at NCCU! And I've been holding off on withdrawing from schools, but I just emailed NCCU my withdrawal after I saw your message. Good luck!

Good Luck

I think you have a really great chance at NCCU. I applied mid December and my status checker just changed to in review today. Hopefully it will not take as long for you because you are not in the mid range applicants...you are much stronger. Well, I wish you the best of luck and hopefully we will be classmates in the fall. :)

Complete and In Review

Its been three weeks to the day and still under review. Not rushing them, as I know my stuff went in late, but I do check every hour on the hour haha.

Hey, I think I went "Complete and In Review" around February 12th (give or take a week); that is when it changed from Complete to "Complete and In Review." A decision was rendered on March 26th and I just received the waitlist letter today. It was dated March 31st. Hope this helps.

NCCU

still no word yet... anyone??

Hang in there. No news is usually good news. You won't see a seat deposit due until after it says "Decision Rendered" which will be your next step in the process. I'm waitlisted and don't have a seat deposit due either, so even if you don't see one due, it may not be an outright rejection.

None yet

No news on my end either...don't get discouraged :)

Saturday, January 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

It does help that I am not the only one :) Sometimes I think it may be better to hope without knowing than to know I didn't make the cut this year, so the wait seems ok :) .... nnnaaahhhh, I want to know!! :D

retest a good idea?
Saturday, January 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

So I have been thinking of retaking the LSAT because I know I could have done much better (was in upper 160s on pre-tests) HOWEVER, the only school I want to go to is NCCU and I am afraid if I go higher I will get yield protected. Any opinions?

They will answer eventually! I just got my acceptance letter on Friday for the evening program. If you don't get in then I would recommend taking the LSAT again and getting new LORs if you want to apply to mroe schools. Also, go to the Fall open house. I found it very helpful to understand what they were looking for. Good luck!!

CONGRATS!!

Saturday, January 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

I don't know if I will do day or night yet. I have a (very) few days to decide. Tonight I will try and figure out money... I would LOVE to go to the day and get it over with... any ideas on that guys??

Congratulations. You see, good things come to those who wait.

I have decided
Saturday, January 23 2010 at 07:00 PM

have fully decided to do the irresponsible thing and jump without a net. I will be paying my $100 for a day school seat and will W from night tomorrow. If ANYONE gets good grant or $ info PLEASE share with me! (annaelizabethlove at gmail or on f.book by looking up lovelyannalove at aol. breaking it up to make harder for the spam bots haha) I have no idea how I will afford to live, but am taking a leap of faith because I really feel this is the way I should go. I need my time at night with my children and they need it with me!

Good choice
Wednesday, March 24 2010 at 08:00 PM

I think you made a good choice! Best wishes moving forward...

Many of the friends I have have my goals. Many of those have been told that this is not the year for them. That is NOT because you are not the coolest people on earth! You are! Many, Many of those people are cooler than me. It is a type of lottery. I know how long I have worked to get here and if something happens and you are here next year with me instead, remember, that means you get my books and save $600 in book fees!! This is just like everything else, sometimes God says it is your turn, sometimes he says wait, I have a better idea! Do not get discouraged. I am happy it is my turn, but, it was also my turn to give birth at 17, and goodness knows, waiting for that wouldn't have hurt!! It is all good in the end, if it turns out to not all be good, it isn't the end yet.

Congratulations!

Haha. Congratulations on your acceptance! My deposit area disappeared, but I am waitlisted. Don't know if that is good, bad, or indifferent.
