**check out my blog!! http://1lawreview.wordpress.com/**

My LSAT scores were extremely disappointing -- I know they are not necessarily an accurate predictor of academic success in law school, but this is my second cycle now!

I got a 145 the first time (after taking a course), studied for MONTHS AGAIN on my own and scored a mere 148. At least I didn't do worse?

I feel for everyone out there that is struggling to get into school because of a low LSAT score, but know that you're not alone. I've been coming on this website for years and I think it's important to put your information up for everyone to see. I have been continually encouraged by finding people who have managed to succeed with similar numbers as myself, and hope I can help some people know that although it's tough, you will (eventually) get in somewhere.

I have read countless blogs of discouragement, telling people not to bother paying tuition at a 3/4th tier law school, but I believe this experience will be what we make of it. These schools are accredited; some reside in state capitals with extraordinary externship/clerkship opportunities...there's something good about all of them. I might not be able to go to Harvard, but I sure as hell am going to do everything I can to get into law school and make the best out of whatever school is smart enough to glance over my poor LSAT score and know I will have something to contribute to this profession.

I will let you know how I receive rejections/acceptances and when - I would be happy to answer any more specific questions over direct messaging as well.

I wish the very best to all of you, and hope you will provide (positive) feedback on my page.

12/17/2010: Waitlisted at New England via small envelope in US mail (status did not change on status checker)

1/3/2011: Rejected at Albany via online status checker

1/7/2011: Rejected at Loyola via online status checker

2/2/2011: Status changed to "decision has been made" on St. John's status checker. Decision mailed 2/3/11

2/3/2011: Accepted at Western New England via large white envelope in US mail

2/8/2011: Rejected from St. Johns via US mail. I knew I wouldn't get in with my numbers but this one hurts the most so far :'(

2/14/2011: Decision rendered at North Carolina Central according to online status checker

2/14/2011: Happy Valentine's Day to me. Received an all too familiar small white envelope from Syracuse. Rejected first cycle, rejected again this year. Crushed. Thought I at least had a chance this time around. :(

2/17/2011: Dinged at North Carolina Central today via small envelope in US mail. Lame.

3/14/2011: Evidently up for re-review at Pace according to online status checker and e-mail. Does anyone know what this is about? Same as wait list??

03/18/2011: Waitlisted at Roger Williams via e-mail

03/21/2011: Pace application status changed to "waitlist- application held for review" Well that answers my waitlist/re-review question! Also, as of 03/21/11 the top line says "decision pending"...anyone think/know if that means I'll get a decision soon?!

04/06/2011: Waitlisted at Indiana via e-mail and status checker. Last time this happened to me at IU they didn't tell me I didn't get in until after school already started!! Lame.

04/12/11: Decision made at John Marshall via Status Checker- will come via US mail.

04/15/11: Rejected at John Marshall. Small white envelope.

05/11/11: Rejected from South Texas' Waitlist via e-mail. That was quick haha

What did the email or status checker say when you got waitlisted at Michigan State University?

Love your Outlook

It's so great to see such a positive outlook! Thank you for that. I know that you're going to kick some serious @$$ in law school (whichever one you go to) because of it. Your information has given me a boost during this stressful process; thanks.

Hey decisions124, On the status checker it says "waitlisted." I received a letter about a week later confirming this (although nothing ever changed under "mailings"). Hope this helps!

Thanks!

jeo- Thanks for the kind words! The whole reason I finally added my info on here was because I wanted to help encourage people. It's funny you say I have a positive outlook- not getting in the first time around took a huge toll on my confidence, but I am beyond stoked at getting an acceptance this time around. I know I'll be able to make the best of it once I'm there. With such a low LSAT score getting IN will be my biggest problem I'm sure haha. I see you've gotten a couple acceptances too - congrats especially on Loyola! Seems great there, I would have liked to have had a shot at it! I'll add you to my watch list and see all the great things you accomplish :)

Thanks

Hey! We do have very similar numbers. I think for me it's going to come down to WNEC or NESL, and I'm going to have a hard time making the decision between the two. I haven't visited either yet, but am planning on attending the WNEC open house this weekend. I might also consider Roger Williams if I get accepted. Good luck with your cycle!

Thank you for the nice comment! I did send MSU a letter via email and us mail expressing my continued interest, so I think that helped- You should do the same! I also sent them a handwritten thank you note thanking them for informing me of my waitlist status and saying I'd be happy to provide any other specific materials. I also think it helped that I applied for Part Time, my understanding is that those programs are always easier to get into. So maybe see if you can switch your application? Also, my best friend goes to MSU Law now, but he was not admitted until mid-summer last year- so there's always hope! I would just maintain correspondence with them in the time being, let them know you're serious! Personally I'm leaning toward Loyola Chicago, so that should open up one more spot at MSU for you! ;)

Thanks!!!!

Hey, Thank you so much! Yes it is my top choice and now I can finally relax. Trust me I have no idea as to how I made it through the last year and a half getting my Masters...I am a zombie. lol. Yea we can defintely stay in touch. Let me know how the rest of your cycle goes. Keep the positive attitude going...I hear we are going to need it the next 3 years. lol

Hello
Wednesday, February 02 2011 at 07:00 PM

I had gotten a message in December that they wanted to defer my admission decision to February and found out my decision on status checker.

Hola!
Sunday, September 12 2010 at 08:00 PM

Hola Lulu! Thank you for those words of wisdom. I have a 145 and hoping to get into Nova Southeastern University here in Florida. I want to wish you the best and please keep me updated with your cycle.

Monday, August 23 2010 at 08:00 PM

Same thing happened to me with Pace. Then, when the decision was made, it said "decision letter mailed" twice... weird. I actually never got the decision and had to call and ask them to resend it.

I'm sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean to change the Michigan State status to WL, accepted. I am currently on the WL there still, and will be withdrawing after I hear back from all schools. Best of luck to you in your cycle, and hopefully admittance to MSU.

Monday, August 23 2010 at 08:00 PM

I had "decision pending" for about a week prior to "decision letter sent".

Wednesday, February 23 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks and congratulations on your acceptances, I know there are still some more for you to come. I guess I am being re reviewed at Pace, I think I only read the words that they put my file on hold and assumed waitlisted. This is what the e-mail said: Thank you for your application to Pace Law School. The Admissions Committee remains very interested in your candidacy to the law school and is holding your file. Your file will be re-reviewed as space becomes available in the incoming class. This process will continue until August when classes begin. Would you kindly let me know, by email response, whether or not you remain interested in Pace Law School at this time in the application process? If you do remain interested, please briefly explain why Pace is a good match for you and also list your current decisions from other law schools. If you do not wish to proceed with the process, please let me know where you intend to enroll so we may close your file.

Good Luck!

Hey there. Thank you very much. Good luck with your applications as well. Hopefully something will work out. It sucks having a strong GPA, solid undergrad, and a low LSAT. Looks like we are in the same boat. Anyway, regarding Paceas of 3/23/2011, my application status says File on Hold - Decision Still Pending. Pace is a little different from other schools. They are kind of like University of Louisville. They have an applicant hold list. Essentially it is the same thing as waitlist. I spoke with their Dean of Admissions. She told me they currently have about 150 students on their list at this time and will pull from the list if seats become available. Typically you will see movement on the waitlists after April 15 and June 1, which are of course the popular seat deposit dates. Decisions could be released any time after those dates and as late as just a few days before classes start in August. I actually work at Florida A&M University College of Law here in Orlando. Several of my professors are tenured, visiting from other schools, served as previous law school Deans, and are on the ABA accreditation committee. They've given me tons of valuable information on schools. Let me know if you could use any insight.
