Additional info & updates

12/4 - preferred WL at g'twn, disappointing for my first decision, but much much better than a rejection, too bad, i love DC

12/19 - Michigan emailed me asking for a rec from one of my supervisors for my summer jobs - this makes me nervous, some strangers in Ann Arbor are passing judgement on me right now!

12/20 - a call from PENN! I missed it and i didn't notice until 8 PM so I'm going to call tommorow, but i think i'm IN! wow, i'm shocked....

12/21 - OK i called Penn and thankfully i don't have HORRIBLE luck, and i'm IN!!!!!!!

12/22 - email from Renee Post, the dean of admissions at Penn, it is confirmed that it was not a figment of my imagination! sweet!

1/29 - random decision to shoot off an app to Stanford, orginially didn't want to apply because of family/SO but my SO convinced me to, and the idea of an California educaion is very tempting and it has one program that i salivate over. I probably shot myself in the foot by applying this late, but let's see...

1/31 - got the 'damning through faint praise' letter from Columbia placing me on the reserve list (its okay to call it a waitlist people...). I'm okay about it, i actually thought i'd get rejeccted, so this is a good alternative

2/5 - first ding of the cycle goes to HARVARD. *shrugs*

2/7 - better news this week - a big enevlope from Cornell!!!! and I thought they forgot about me. They had a really nice note from the admissions dean, and a personalized acceptance letter. *aww* this week is looking up

2/26 - acceptance enevlope from UVA!!!!! very excited about having three great options!!!

3/2 - 3rd waitlist of the season....hmph.

4/1 - got back to my apartment from an ASW, got a rejection letter from Stanford (boo, but expected) and a scholarship from UVA!!!!

something's up with Gtown this year; so many surprising decisions. Best of luck with the rest of your cycle.

Penn!

Congrats about Penn! I'm from Philly and I love and miss it. Re the bf, things are a lot easier because he wants to teach, hence my cycle is dictating geography to a much greater degree than I imagine yours is. Best of the best to both of you!

congrats

penn is one of my top choices so i'm pretty happy right now, but it's really gonna come down to some personal factors for me, not rank i.e. feel of the school, proximity to my SO, etc. good luck everyone!

Congrats on Penn!

Wow, that is awesome. You give me hope, as I was also waitlisted at G'town. Good luck with the rest of the schools!

Bad news for me.

Wow. PWL at Gtown with those numbers +URM? Doesn't bode well for a splitter like me.

I do want to. I wish I had three more months to decide--or had Penn's financial aid offer already. I'd love to go to school with you though--we'd get bubble tea everyday (screw student budgets). Haha, thanks for booing G'town for me. they are evil no? How dare they waitlist yoU?
