I work in a law firm as a legal assistant. I've worked as a legal assistant at the SEC, and done some temp legal assisting for a DA and for Disney.

I ran the Boston Marathon on 4/21/08. That was fun.

Additional info & updates

11/24 The wait is unbearable! Does anybody have a time machine so I can skip the next month, or at least just find out where I'll be going so I can stop worrying?

11/29 It's weird to think that in admissions committees around the country, there are people judging me as I write this.

12/16 Suffolk is my first admit. It's a safety school, but it's nice that they went from complete to decision THAT quickly. I was hoping that the package in my mail was from NYU, but hopefully that will be coming before I go on vacation on Friday.

12/26 Well, crap. I've been deferred by NYU and waitlisted by Georgetown. I fear that I'm not going to get into any non-t3 school. God knows what I'd do with myself - everything I've done since July has been predicated on the belief that I'd be getting into a t14 school early. Now I've got nothing so far, and I'm not feeling too confident about anywhere else at this point...

1/2 - Applied to a couple more schools, Penn and WUSTL - Penn sent me a fee waiver that came in the mail on Monday. It's odd that they waited so relatively late to do that, but it's a big school so I suppose they can do what they want. WUSTL is another relative safety school. After the Georgetown shocker, I'm going to try and cover all possible bases.

1/23 - In at Vanderbilt. That's helped. No matter what now, I'll be going to a very, very good law school in the fall.

1/30 - Another deferral from a school that frankly, the numbers suggest I should have no problem getting into. This is getting worrisome...

2/12 - In at WUSTL. Only 6 more places left to hear back from...

2/15 - Columbia defers me, but promises a real answer by April 15. This is the 3rd school to defer me. This is weird.

2/19 - Waitlist at Penn. That was quick at least. I'm happy to have the acceptances that I do so far, but am I going to get into any T14 school...?

3/19 - Another waitlist, this time UCLA. This has not gone as well as I thought it would. Silver lining, Vanderbilt was a lot of fun and they seemed to be really well organized. I'll visit WUSTL next week.

4/22 - I'm probably going to Vanderbilt. Sent in my seat deposit last week. I'm happy about this, looking forward to the experience.

5/1 - In at Georgetown! I've now got to figure out if I actually want to go there over half tuition at Vandy. It's a credit to Vandy that this is even a choice at this point. I'm going to law school so that I can eventually practice public international law, and I know which school will provide the best opportunity on that front...

5/13 - Georgetown.

8/16 - NYU off the waitlist! I've got one week to find an apartment in New York City, but well worth it!

Congrats on Suffolk, your safety! How did you know that you were complete? Are you planning on working while attending school?

just curious, did you interview there?

No worries

Keep your chin up...you will get into a good school. The deferral and the waitlist suck but some of your other schools are real possibilities. Here's to hoping for better news in the new year.

With that work experience and LSAT, you're definitely in at Northwestern. Did you interview?

SEC question

Saw that you worked for the SEC. Looking into applying for a position with them. I'd like to talk with you if possible about the environment and if you could offer any insight into the Commission? Matt

Sorry

About Georgetown. Give USPS a few more days and I'm pretty sure we'll be in the same boat.

I cannot believe you were waitlisted! Ridiculous... Good news for us though... I just found out today that I was accepted at Northwestern, and since you have better numbers than me you should be in for sure!! Let me know when you find out!

no sense whatsoever
