Additional info & updates

**4-15 It's a done deal. I faxed my matching scholarship acceptance to Berkeley.**

11-20-07. My first acceptance by phone with a verbal offer of a full ride scholarship at UNL. Yay! I'm going to law school.

11-21-07 In at Berkeley!

11-30-07 Packet from UNL. Since I'm in-state, that 36,000 represents full-ride plus a small stipend.

1-10-08 An apparent hold at Michigan.

1-11-08 Accepted at Virginia! Status checker went to decision on the 7th.

2-7-08 Deferred at Harvard. I took them at their word and did send in additional info.

2-15-08 deferredish email from Yale. Either offered a spot, or waitlisted.

2-22-08 Nice scholarship offer from texas.

3-3-08 Cornell wants an interview, to gauge interest I guess.

3-10-08 64K at Chicago (by snailmail, dated 2 business days ago) spread unevenly over three years.

3-13,14 UVA ASW. Lovely lovely place. I loved being surrounded by all those smart people!

3-28 UVA Dean's scholarship award letter, 24K/year

4-3 Berkeley Matching Scholarship! With cost of living differences I'll get 33K next year.

4-11 Email from Yale telling me waitlist.

4-19 For information for next years cycle only: Stanford rejection by snail mail. I withdrew by email 4 days ago.

4-25 For information for next years cycle only: Harvard wailist offer by email. I withdrew by email (and was refused email withdrawal) on April 15.

Good luck with all your apps! It looks like you'll be in high demand. I'll be pulling for you.

I now carry a secret resentment for U Nebraska Lincoln for being the only place not to grant you the fee waiver you deserve. ;) Best of luck,

Good luck on your cycle! We have nearly the same numbers so hopefully we'll both get in at a bunch of the same schools!

I was going to bank on being the token Nebraskan at my top choices but you've foiled that plan! Haha. Seriously though, best of luck!

Wow!

Congrats on your first acceptance (of many)! A scholarship, too? I'm so excited for you. This is going to be an excellent cycle for you. Well deserved for such a great lady, too.

Thanks!

Thanks to you both! I confess, I feel a bit like Cinderella at the ball :). When I decided to go to law school back at the first of July, my goal was to go to UNL with a scholarship. I'm glad they were my first acceptance.

HUZZAH!

My family is lobbying hard for U of Nebraska, so that I don't move (and take their grandkids with me :)). My dh is lobbying hard for somewhere warm, like Berkeley. I'm hoping for a miracle and a Yale admit :). However, I'm open and excited about going to any of the schools on my list. Or I wouldn't have bothered applying. Gonna be an interesting 6 months.

Thanks :) Needless to say, everybody back home was pretty excited! I'm watching your posts in the Toby Stock thread closely hoping for you to get that e-mail soon...I'm sure you will it'll happen, and they'd be crazy not to want someone with your story (and #'s to boot!). Plus the more NE'ans the better ;) Congrats on UNL and Berkeley already! I think you too have still got some great ones on the way :)

ASW
Sunday, July 22 2007 at 08:00 PM

I've only spent a few days in SF and I had a terrible cold so I'm very much looking forward to Berkeley's ASW to get a chance to experience CA again. A drive down Hwy 1, however, was spectacular. Unbelievable.

Thanks for withdrawing on UW. I'm sure you would be a great classmate, but a few more W's and maybe I'll get off the "secondary review" process before I get a waitlist.
