Extra Curricular Information

Additional info & updates

I'm only applying for part-time admission at all of the above schools. I have eight years of experience working full time as a Software Developer and plan on continuing that job through school while supporting my family. I am interested in pursuing IP law.

1/12 - Everything is done on my end. The waiting game begins.

2/7 - Accepted at Pacific today! It's a great feeling even though it's one of my last picks. I'm learning more about Sacramento and I like what I see so far so we'll see. I'm admitted with honors - more info to come on scholoarship money.

2/14 - Got a call from Loyola saying I was accepted! I was at the dentist and checked my voicemail when I left! 2 for 2! Somehow I don't expect this pattern to continue but my fingers are crossed.

2/19 - Got an email from Denver ... accepted! My wife is from there so that's really exciting.

Got home and found a rejection from American. I wasn't holding my breath but still just slightly sad. I guess this means that Mason is probably out too.

2/21 - Waitlisted at DePaul today. Hmmm...

2/23 - I knew it was a reach but I was rejected from Mason today. I have now learned to decipher the sound of the mailman's truck versus any other truck driving up my street.

3/17 - Waitlisted at USF. Small envelope with a lot of stuff in it so they fool you! Also FINALLY went complete at Seattle.

3/20 - Accepted at Stetson. Large envelope. Side note: checked online status tracker earlier in the week, which said 'decision mailed'. Mid week, I got an email from the admissions dept titled 'Great News from Stetson Law' with a blank message body. I emailed back expressing my confusion, and I was told I was emailed that in error. Weird. ;) This whole process has been crazy.

3/25 Seattle's online checker says "Decision Mailed" so the freaking out begins. I've heard from others that it can still take a while to receive the news in the mail. This is a big one for me and I'm really hoping to get accepted. My wife's family all lives there so this would be a blow to not get admitted. Also finally got around to formally Withdrawing from USF. It just wouldn't work.

3/29 - Waitlisted at Seattle for PT. Not quite sure what that means considering their PT program is a summer entrance. Hope they figure out what their PT class is going to look like soon. Accepted at San Diego which makes me feel better. Being that I have to work, job prospects for me in San Diego are pretty good.

4/04 - Rejected at Santa Clara by small envelope. bah! Still waiting on my Texas locals: SMU and Houston. I hate how long this is taking.

4/20 - Waitlisted at UH. Ugh. I wish this would all be a lot more clear cut.

4/21 - LOCI sent out to UH. Cost of living in Houston and the cost of UH is too good to give up on.

4/23 -Rejected by SMU. Looks like I'm moving somewhere. I wish they could have come up with this a little sooner though.

5/05 - FINALLY rejected by GState. Guess I wasnt invited to their Cinco de Mayo party! Took their sweet time though.

5/13 - Houston rejected off the waitlist. Visiting Denver and SanDiego this weekend. I should narrow it down between them after the trip, and then wait for seattle.

06/03 - Withdrawn from USD. Attending DU unless Seattle comes through soon off the WL.

06/09 - SU sent an email saying they aren't pulling from the WL anymore for the SUMMER entrance but they want to keep me on the FALL entrance, which will be decided at the latest one week before classes start in August. I feel like an ugly prom date. At this point, while not formally WD from SU, I'm making plans to attend DU. Sent in my second deposit today.

We're both professionals from TX trying to go part time. We also have similar numbers. St. Louis and Loyola Chicago are both T2 and have part-time evening programs. Loyola Chi is free to apply if you go to their website. Good luck!

Hey man, whats up? I have a fam too and respect you for working and taking care of 'em. Plus, gettining a CS degree is gnarley. I took intro to CS and swear it was the hardest class I ever took. Anyways, how'd you find out you were complete at Georgia State?

I appreciate the info. Just yesterday I got the snail mail letter saying my file was complete. Yes! I despise this feeling of uncertainty - not knowing where you're going to be in a few months.. I'll keep an eye on you - good luck!!

congrats on pacific. I got in there with honors too yesterday. I am also a PT applicant and wondering job/living prospects in sacramento. Have you visited the campus/City? Are you planning on? Lets stay in touch.

Sorry about GMU! They didn't like me either. I'm in at GSU PT, so hopefully your acceptance is on its way too. Good luck!

I received word via snail mail. Letter said that scholarships (if any) would be out in the next couple weeks if you applied by a certain deadline (can't remember which day, but I believe we both applied within that limit). Thanks for the kind words regarding UofH, they are really taking their sweet ol' time handing out decisions. Good luck for the rest of your cycle. If not Texas, you've already scored pretty well getting UD, UofP and Loyola Chi!

Hey, I noticed that you applied 3 days before I did, went complete 2 days before I did and got your decision yesterday. I was wondering. How long before you received your decision did your status go to "Decision mailed?" I ask because I have been checking that thing pretty regularly everyday and feel like I should be getting feedback pretty soon (next couple of days). Do you feel like you will be taking acceptance to Stetson? If so, and I get in, I will probably be taking classes with you come August. Best of luck.

Have you heard anything from SMU? I emailed and they said my file was complete, but they haven't even cashed my check yet.

Monday, August 06 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats. I am beaming right now! I am sure you will be just as happy when you get accepted to SMU/UH. They have to make a decision soon, UH starts in less than 6 weeks!

Sorry, but its pretty funny they put \"Great news from blah blah\" in the subject line but the body of the email was blank. That sounds like something that would happen to me. Good job on your acceptances.
