quite a pedigree and some strong numbers to boot. I assume you're shooting for Yale, but either way you've got a great bunch of options. Best of luck, smart kid.

Congrats on your Columbia acceptance. You must be stoked! Did it arrive in the mail, or did you get an e-mail or phone call?

That was a very kind post. I am hoping to get into Yale, but I know their admissions are a total crapshoot. Time will tell...

Good luck

Just curious about your reasons for choosing Cornell. I'm struggling between Cornell and Georgetown right now. Did they offer you a scholarship?

cornell over columbia and penn?!!! have you visited?

Penn was by far my lowest choice. I hated the campus and felt like Philadelphia would just an awful pace to live (this coming from someone who lived in New Haven for four years). Columbia on the other hand made the decision very difficult. It was a joint decision for me and my girlfriend and we felt the most at home at Cornell.

Thanks for the advice...

I took to heart what you said about Cornell. I loved the visit this weekend. It had a better sense of community and seemed like a better environment to study law than at Upenn or Gtown. I think in general applicants put way too much emphasis on meaningless differences in rankings...much the same way that law schools do for the LSAT. I still haven't entirely ruled out NYU, but at this point I'm pretty confident I'll be in Ithaca next year. See you there. - Greg

Just seeing who else is going to Ithaca. I agree with your thoughts on the visit. A great, relaxed atmosphere with a good education. See you there.

Sigh. Your application cycle would be a dream to me. Please teach me your voodo, unless it involves having graduated from Yale, for I am a mere Berkeley grad suffering from years of de-gradeflation and massive impersonal education taught by graduate student instructors.
