Hey
Tuesday, November 28 2006 at 07:00 PM

Thank you for your confidence in my chances (if only I were as confident in my prospects :) ), and congratulation on your Duke acceptance! I hope that you fare well in the crap shoot that is the law school admissions process!

Sure thing. I definitely think you'll have a great app cycle. Good luck to us all!

thanks

I'm hoping that admissions committees see it that way, too. Still, I have to wonder whether a 3.90 and a humanities major would have served me better.

Hi. I didn't get a call from Dean Stock, although that would have been nice. Did you receive a call? I'm not expecting too much from the H app. But since this is a crap shot, I put myself out there anyway. Congratulations on your Duke and Georgetown accepts.

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I've been hearing that some law schools have negative vibes towards sci/eng students, which is disappointing to hear.

Heh, no I didn't receive the call e-mail. At this point I'm expecting a ding or waitlist->ding. That seems to be what happens to people who go complete but don't receive a phone interview. And thanks!

Hi there

Congratulations to you, too. I did go complete at le gran H a while back, and have not yet received the hallowed T-stock shoutout. I am trying not to put too much stock in it either way (har har), or in some kind of magical GPA cutoff. I imagine there is a damn good chance we will be wailisted or better (since you say we have similar numbers), but I'm not going to count on it. I think it's probably soon to read anything into NOT getting a phonecall. I understand the stress, though :) Happy to provide some solidarity to someone in a similar spot. -GC

is a certainty for me. Only a matter of time, methinks.

a note on Harvard
Sunday, December 11 2005 at 07:00 PM

I think they're calling the people who can get into Yale and Stanford. You know, giving the VIPs the special treatment. I don't know your stats, but I am a mere peon grasping at the coattails of the illustrious Harvard name. They know I won't get into Y or S and won't bother calling me. Spreading cheer and joy wherever I go, Sarah

Yeah, that makes sense and it's also what I've been thinking. I figured H was a long shot from the very beginning, but the long wait made my hopes rise. And what an agonizing wait it is! I haven't heard anything in a week now from any school.

Hey, I have no idea. My best guess is that they've been looking over some apps for a while, but only sent out the en masse complete notice early in December. I know I didn't get my letter in the very first wave, so I think they're going roughly in order.

Thanks!
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats, and right back at ya! GULC and Duke are awesome ways to start off the cycle, I'm sure there are more acceptances to come. I'd love to stay in Boston for school, and by Boston, I mean Harvard, lol, but at this point, it's hard to tell where I'll end up. How about you?

I'm not giving Michigan another thought. 1) it's cold 2) I think that they sacrifice standards to too great a degree to admit URMs 3) public schools can't/don't give as much scholarship $$ as private schools So yeah, whatev. We're both going to have so many options that one fewer won't do anything but help us!

re - Harvard
Wednesday, September 13 2006 at 08:00 PM

I got a "hold" e-mail from Harvard today. Now I have to decide what kind of supplemental materials I want to send. Either way, we've both got some great schools to choose from.

I'm so dumb

UVA $$

A few weeks ago I was perusing last year's cycle, and it seemed like most, if not all, people got their financial aid award offer in late Feb. or early March. I wouldn't lose hope just yet. Congrats, by the way!!

don't know
Sunday, December 11 2005 at 07:00 PM

if you saw my update or not, but I called UVA today and asked if lack of mention meant that I was not up for scholarship consideration and she said no. What's your 1st choice? After the big H, that is.

Re: GW - Thanks!
Saturday, September 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I hope I get an offer from a school like Duke so I have a *real* decision to make! :)

...like you did...

Sunday, December 11 2005 at 07:00 PM

I didn't drop of the Dean's certification stuff until Wednesday, so it probably won't reach NYC until early next week at the earliest...I don't think my app will be complete for a few more weeks. When did you apply?

Thanks
Saturday, September 30 2006 at 08:00 PM

and Congrats to you as well. No Stock interview the first time around. Who knows why but I'm not too bothered. Where are you leaning?

I have no idea who you are. Haha. :) Congrats on your brilliant cycle. RAWK!!!!

Thank you!

That's a funny way of describing the Columbia/Penn withdrawals... It was kind of like that scene in Bridget Jones's Diary 2, when she finds Daniel Cleaver with the prostitute and says, "I think that you should go and f--- yourself... or her... but definitely not me." I told Columbia that it should go and ---- itself. Or Penn. But definitely not me.

Nah, actually...
Monday, October 16 2006 at 08:00 PM

I still think very highly of Columbia and wish them the best. It just wasn't meant to be for the two of us, though.

Hi
Friday, February 16 2007 at 07:00 PM

Thank you for your kind words on my page. I hope you're right. Congratulations on five acceptances: good job! One question (we cannot see your numbers, but we do see your chiasu predictions): why didn't you apply at Columbia?

Thanks
Friday, August 18 2006 at 08:00 PM

and congrats to you as well! Based on your ChiaShu percentages, you must have some sweet numbers! Where are you leaning towards now? And yep, I caved and applied to Yale :-) I had several moments of regret for my lost $82 in the days following though... Who are you on LSD?

UT ED
Tuesday, December 26 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey what's up, I figured I'd answer the question you left on my profile here on yours instead of on mine. UT ED is really kind of a misnomer. It's more of an Early Action program, similar to Georgetown's. It's non-binding. They don't have a binding ED program at all. I'm not sure what's with the inconsistency from school to school between the names ED and EA. In any case, I wouldn't have applied ED if it was binding. UT is one of my top choices but not necessarily my absolute top choice. And nice entry under "Race". I laughed.

Hey-o, I don't see any pendings up there; are all done? did you withdraw from HLS?

4/11 deadline
Tuesday, November 08 2005 at 07:00 PM

sorry, you're too cloaked for me to be too detailed :-) It's semi-public elsewhere, but as LSN is probably the easiest way for adcomm staff to identify someone online, I don't want to share there anyway. Let's just say it doesn't look good for NYU and I'm kind of upset about it.
