Do you have any idea what the average gpa/lsat is for early decision(And if its different from regular) I think i'm a comparable applicant to you numbers wise...
i think you're right-- i'm in the process of adding some more competitive schools over the next week--just not sure which ones. goodluck to you too. hope we both hear good news from mich.
it seems that some ed mich people are already being notified, as are a growing number of rd people. i'm curious to see what happens over the next week or so.
most definitely - good luck. i absolutely love UMich's admissions office, and the current students and alumni ive been in touch with seem really grounded. i cant wait!
haha honestly i doubt they monitor logins, but i am getting a little worried aobut not hearing as well. i think that a lot of decisions will be made over the next week, especially for early. i opted for both summer/fall starts, went complete on the 14th of november and haven't heard...
hey, thanks! i got the snail mail and the email both on 12/8--the email came at 4:30pm, and i had checked my mail before that. good luck, i'm sure you'll hear soon!
did you write the why michigan thing? other profiles indicate that might really help!
similar numbers.. ill be watching to see how you do. good luck!
nope, haven't gone to decision...you think its too late to send in more stuff? i wanted to send in extra materials, but i already wrote 2 additional essays and included 3 recs in my initial app...maybe i should fly out there soon
No, I didn't write a separate GPA addendum; however, I did address my gpa in a paragraph of my personal statement b/c it fit in with what i wrote my ps about. I have a great trend, so I'm sure that's what has been helping them oversee the number so far. Good luck with all of your apps!
i think we'll be sitting on lots of deferrals/wait lists for a long time. nerve-racking to see everybody else getting decisions and we're just stuck. hopefully something pans out :)
maybe in the future. I don't there's a point to moving and taking debt unless I get into one of the schools I applied. in any case, you've got a few deferrals yourself... at least they aren't straight rejects. gah it sucks watching everybody get accepted and having nothing.
I was a bit surprised by Cornell's request for an interview, and the letter itself gives few clues as to the reasoning behind it. I'm excited for the face-toface opportunity and to see what CLS has to offer. I'm not so sure about traveling up to Ithaca at this time of year, though...
Congrats on GW! And don't let the deferrals get you down. Good luck with Michigan!
I really would like to go to Penn, but I'm trying to keep as open a mind as possible. Really, I know I will be happy at any of the schools I've applied to.
I did send UMich a letter of continued interest- but not right away. It was delayed to such an extent that it may have even crossed paths in the mail with my acceptance.
How was your trip to Michigan? Would you email about your visit? I have a couple questions that I would to discuss with you. Thanks!
Penn was by far my lowest choice. I hated the campus and felt like Philadelphia would just an awful pace to live (this coming from someone who lived in New Haven for four years). Columbia on the other hand made the decision very difficult. It was a joint decision for me and my girlfriend and we felt the most at home at Cornell.
I've yet to have any luck on anything I applied to.
I loved Michigan. I actually spent most of my time out on the town with grad students (psych, comm, chemistry, business, lawyers) and just got a good vibe from everyone. It was interesting to see the mix of people, on top of the many positive things I already knew about the school. BTW, Fordham = loco. I'm going to the GW ASW in a couple weeks, so I'll let you know how that goes (I recall you are not attending, let me know if that has changed.
Howdy neighbor. Great numbers, I can't believe you got WLed at Fordham... probably isn't a good sign for me (I'm still waiting for a response). At this point I'll probably take the free ride at St. John's.
I hope to see you in the fall as well... whether at GW or elsewhere!
congratulations!
ask and you shall receive; congratulations, hope to see you here!
I only sent in a LOCI as additional info. I went to visit before i was waitlisted, and tried to focus on specific things that make umich unique in all my essays and referred to them (and how i will contribute) consistently throughout my app. to be honest though, i have no clue why they took me off. aside from a weak GPA, i also had other negative issues to address, and am really convinced now that Michigan really does consider the whole applicant in their admissions process. i hope things work out for you too!
there goes that ship for me.
according to this and LSD you're one of the first off the WL at ann arbor. congrats! hope you're celebrating accordingly.
. . . on your UMich acceptance! You give hope to all us fellow waitlisters. Will you be starting in the summer or the fall?
Congrats again and again! I'm pysched to see you going there. Mayhaps I will see you there. Either way, best of luck!
Yeah, I'm a lot happier now that I know I'm attending GW. It just feels right. Good luck this fall!
relieved. made it. going to law school? yes. going to gulc? probably, pending 3 or my infinite remaining WLs.
3 OF the inifinite remaining WLs.
To leave the Mich or Penn WLs now would just be self-defeating ;)
can't win 'em all. and I'm still trying, dammit!
if you're down in chicago :) la di da.
Lots of splitters on LSN indeed -- good luck with each of the schools you're applying to. UMich lately has seemed to be very splitter friendly in particular.
