No, what i just meant by EA was I sent them in early. Thats all. No binding or early decison programs. However some schools did get back to me rather quickly
- SdoloJust checked my status. I forgot about that school. I was rejected from that school. No sweat though. Im going to alabama unless I get in anywhere ranked higher.
- BLACKMAN1I don't know why you were rejected. They waitlisted me and you have better numbers than I do. I am rooting for you. Roll Tide.
- EngineTumblerwere you placed on hold at miami or did they send you something that said waitlist?
- imservin22When you are as desperate as I am you call a hold a waitlist.
- EngineTumblerYou gotta stay positive!! Something will come thru for you...
- SdoloWe took a similar approach.. cast a wide net. I'm hoping that the "EE" factor helps too, but it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of difference overall. I'm almost certain you're going to get something that you like out of this cycle!
- EEpatentGuyDon't worry about Phoenix man, with your numbers, you'll get into a better school.
- burndtscorchoTo be honest with you I don't really understand the process myself. Your LSAT score is strong enough to get you into a good school. You might want to review your personal statement. Good luck this cycle.
- chrisrj1971Hey! Nice score at Phoenix! Congratulations on that one! I had to laugh at "topfree softs."
- EEpatentGuyDecided to put that application on hold. I don't think I will be sending out that application. Gl with the rest of your cycle -LSD22
- anonymousYou had asked on my page why no UNLV application. I've lived in Vegas for 8 years and my wife and I have decided that the culture in the town isn't one fit for raising kids (at least not to our standards). Congrats on Phoenix...just be careful and do your research as I hear that their graduates oftentimes have difficulty finding JD required jobs even in the Phoenix area after graduation.
- msu1077That's amazing that you went from waitlisted to accepted WITH a scholarship! Congrats and I'll keep that in mind when I get waitlisted. I'm just waiting to get some decisions.
- StefyheadI got the acceptance via snail mail.
- buffer1212Georgetown! Wow! That makes me wonder because I applied to a lot of the same schools as you and haven't heard anything. I am getting really nervous. I want some of what you got! haha
- h2oplyer7I am beyond shocked. I don't even want to tell anyone for fear Georgetown will call and apologize for the mistake.
- EngineTumblerBALLIN' I'm so happy for you Congrats
- imservin22I would be nervous too, but super excited! You should call them though and reserve your seat. You have some strong softs. Maybe there was something that attracted them. I am sure there is no mistake. Congrats again! Gives me hope!
- h2oplyer7Well would you look at that... Congratulations!
- Sdolo..And you were obsessing over Franklin Pierce.. GREAT FOR YOU!!
- EEpatentGuyThanks for the compliment on my cycle thus far. Maybe I'll see you at Georgetown!
- hx3It appears as though you're having a good cycle. congrats fellow splitter on getting into Georgetown. Would you choose the PT program at a higher ranked school or would you rather stick with full time, even if the school is ranked lower?
- AnmarCongrats on Gtown, that's awesome!
- miror22Thanks for your comment (I think?) :-) Would that it were universally true. --and congrats on your Georgetown admit! Pretty awesome.
- ajudk8I was going to congratulate you on getting accepted into Kent. But I noticed you got into Georgetown. Congrats! Nevermind Kent!
- amb8819Well, thanks for such kind words. I feel I have applied to some top notch schools ex. Temple, Michigan State, Southwestern, and University of San Francisco.
- luvya683Thanks. Things have gone well so far, I am still waiting to hear from the higher ranked schools on my list. Hopefully my streak continues. Good Luck on the rest of your cycle.
- amb8819No, I'm in MD.
- stephinmdI understand debt aversion, but would you really consider phoenix over Georgetown? If you were to get a Georgetown JD to go with a PH.d in engineering, you would be looking at at a top law starting salary, regardless of where you graduate in Georgetown's class.
- amb8819Haha, it's ok. Yes, I want to do IP law. I assume w/ your major, you're looking at the same field?
- stephinmdYeah Cooley is totally upping their selectivity. Hopefully my LSN will serve as a warning to others applying in the future, On serious note, congrats on Georgetown! That's hot shit!
- 3v3ryth1ngI would give this phoenix decision a serious consideration especially considering your acceptance to Georgetown. perhaps a take a few days.
- imservin22Please take the Phoenix vs. other decision seriously. You got some good schools going for you (not saying Phoenix isn't a good school), so don't let the $$$ be the only reason why you choose a school. You want your choice to be good for the long run. Take other factors into consideration, e.g., if the school is located in an area where you want to live and practice, bar passage rates (do your own research own this - trust me), what other students/ recent grads say about the experience, employment opportunities. Factors like these may seem subservient to the money issue, but they are all important things to consider in your long-term success. Additionally, always remember that you should choose a school...don't let a school choose you. Take an active role in deciding where you want to go. Even if you feel you have lower numbers, there's something about your profile, about you, that makes you a strong competitor. Never settle: especially for something as transient as money.
- anonymousoops that was me above. didn't mean to post anonymous
- number50lq2Hey, you got in at Georgetown, and a degree from that school will take far. On other hand, let's say you did 1 year at Phoenix, finished it at the top of the class. Then you could transfer to other schools. Hmmm maybe that's shitty advice. Too risky. Don't listen to me.
- 3v3ryth1ngyeah - they offered me money. full ride contingent upon performance
- number50lq2So are you going to go ?? Wow out of law school debt free ... And they are paying for living ..... I would take it !!!! Please let me know if you are going to go !
- NieseneWhy would you remain in some of the schools that are lower-ranked while you have access to higher ranked schools?
- MidwestprincesseAccepted to GULC? Amazing! Money is definitely a deciding factor, but when it comes down to Ivy League school versus run-of-the-mill school, I'd take the former.
- HarmonyCongrats on being accepted to wake.
- amb8819Wow! All at once! Nice admits, Miss!
- EEpatentGuyI empathize with you. Twenty thousand dollars a year is equal to about 1/2 tuition at Wake right? Thats not great, but it also isn't that bad. People often pay much more to go to much lesser schools.
- amb8819I'll be there! I'll also be at ASU's events (whenever they may be...). Good luck with the rest of your cycle!
- gaminglawladyASU hasn't gotten back to me on money yet. They have to be the slowest school ever.
- EngineTumblerI think I will withdraw from Phoenix...I've been in review since Nov 2011 with no updates on status checker or anything. What's top free? Are you doing full-time at Kent, if you decide to attend? I'm still waiting on a response from Kent...think I'll give them a ring again
- number50lq2Have you decided on your school? Tough call, but I'd vote for full ride at Franklin Pierce or Wake.
- EEpatentGuyHi, I saw your message a while back but wanted to wait for a bit more of my cycle to unfold before replying. I think D.C. part time is a great option. You have the USPTO just around the corner (and actually they're currently hiring!), and a lot of patent law firms reside in the D.C. area. This means you could lessen your debt by a LOT by going part time and working at either the USPTO or a firm. Some firms even pay for your full law school tuition. Those jobs are not easy to get, but since you're an EE, I assume you could have... especially if you had attended GULC. Had I been in your shoes, I would have forgone Franklin Pierce and I would have gone to GULC part time. Your earning potential from GULC as well as your general opportunities in general would have been greater at GULC. I just hope they offer me your spot! Good luck though... There's nothing wrong with getting a law degree for peanuts, so Franklin Pierce is a defensible choice.
- HispanicEngineerAlthough to be honest, getting a patent agent job in a law firm is very difficult, especially in this economy. Since I may go to American University part-time, I have been applying to a bunch and it's not easy...I actually don't think I'll have a firm job before the start of the semester. So... if you could somehow guarantee a firm job by the time GULC starts, it's the best financial choice. Otherwise, no debt out of Franklin Pierce becomes more appealing.
- HispanicEngineerHave no cash to buy a house? Worry no more, just because that's achievable to take the home loans to work out such problems. Hence get a credit loan to buy everything you require.
- PittmanJOSEFINA20Uhmmmm... I just read parts of your "additional information" section. Is this profile for real? A topfree club? You do realize that topfree clubs promote women going without tops in public right? It is not even appropriate for men to be topfree in public! Haha. I hope I don't offend you if this profile is for real, but for some reason, I sense that this must be a joke.
- HispanicEngineerThank you for withdrawing from schools once you made a decision. It keeps the process rolling for people like me who are on waitlists or waiting to hear back.
