Im not afraid of acknowledging my race. I'm afraid that by acknowledging my race I
Best of luck man!
u have much better #'s than me, why r u only applying to these schools?
Blackman1 I was being very cautious, but thank you for the pep talk lol
Hey our numbers are similiar and I hate to say it but I'm hoping to slide into UGA as well with a URM boost haha! Good luck on your cycle! :) p.s- I have lived in Georgia all my life so if you have any questions about Mercer, UGA, or GA State let me know!
I am but I want to choose wisely. I applied to Hofstra Law last year, was waitlisted, rode out the waitlist until the end and was highly disappointed. My current list is still a work in progress; there are more school to come.
LOLI read you comment about the hunnies looking better in the suth ! hahah you sooo right we do! best of luck , your on my watch list! also ps. what did you do to prepare for LSAT??
yeah UALR is a good one. I want to try to get into a bigger school though. You have a good list. best wishes to you during your cycle
I hope you get into every school, but I'm guessing only #'s 5-8 in top 8. Any bet takers out there?
Congrats on Campbell acceptance! How did you hear about it? Every time I go to use their status checker it doesn't load the web page, so I have no way of knowing my decision, because I applied the same time as you and a few others who have already received decisions!
Congrats on Campbell. I applied and but the online checker is down. I am also a veteran (22 years Navy) and using the GI Bill + yellow ribbon program for school. Good luck!
congrats!
Already in at Alabama, congrats! I just got e-mails from them about setting up some account. I would really like to get in there, but we'll see. Same as Campbell though, can't get the status checker to work. Frustrating as hell.
Don't waste your time, energy, or any amount of money...or even if you're getting a full ride with Mercer. Don't do it to yourself! Their program is a joke. I have 2 friends that were accepted, went, and transferred out to Georgia and Georgia State, respectively, after the first year due to the quality, or lack thereof, Mercer's law program. Just my opinion, though. Either way, congrats on getting into one of my top choices, University of Alabama. ROLL TIDE! :)
so what is consider a URM in law school?
I'm really happy for you! Way to go on the acceptances!!!
I found this funny "I have a real negative perception of Alabama as a state" ...because every school you want to go to is in the south. The area around Gainesville is country. It's unique and I promise you that you would enjoy Tuscaloosa. The whole "south" thing is relatively dead in college towns (especially one where white girls are known for sleeping with black guys). rtr.
I wouldn't take Pace and New York Law schools seriously if you want to work in NYC (unless they offer you full scholarship but even then..). Should be Hofstra at the minimum, but even Hofstra's employment % is iffy.
LOL! You don't know the half of how tense/anxious I am! I had 3 different dreams in one night about getting my scores...lol. I dreamed I got a 109...lmbo...and you can't even get a 109! And I actually think we'll get them earlier. I got an email 3 days early before telling me it was available online. Nonetheless, thanks for your support/encouraging words. I HOPE I did well...and I know you got your 165 this go around! :)
Hello, I'm new to this site. Your page is very encouraging. I'm hoping you can give me some feedback. I'm taking the LSAT on December 3, 2011, and I'm hoping for a great score. If you get a chance, view my page, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
LOL...so I've been guilted into applying to Mercer. A relative went there and once she found out that I was applying to law schools and NOT applying to Mercer, she turned it on, BIG TIME! LOL. So in order to appease her AND because submitting the application didn't cost me anything, I applied. Hopefully I'll have several acceptances and can just blame the fact that I choose another school on getting a better offer. LOL!
chose* (oops!)
On FSU. I'm jealous! LOL. They're my #2 school (only because it's out of state for me), but my #1 football team! :)
I despise UGA! I'd never apply there OR at the University of Florida! $16 is too much to spend on either school!
I think BOTH schools are waaaay overrated. Academically and definitely sports wise! I'm not impressed by either. Never have been as far back as early high school.
hey hey hey noow! I have great soft factors !! and I have years at a law firm, and 6 years community service, and great LORS.. Sometimes lsat are not everything
And also, PT is much easier to get into than full time..
And, I don't know if you've been to Louisiana, but that is not a good place to practice law or raise a family. Trust me, the crime is ridiculous and its not as glamorous or fun as people make it seem. Lastly, if you get into LSU, You'll most likely be practicing and living in New Orleans which is even worst! I hate to say this, but some of the black people in new Orleans give hard working, African Americans such as yourself a bad name. Seriously, I would not raise a child in that cesspool of willful ignorance, pants hanging, gold teeth wearing, murder ridden, loud mouth talking , Project housing, welfare dependent, shit hole of city. Trust me, its 'aint worth it!!
funny stuff on Pace. I know couple of people who goes there, they don't exactly hate it but not great either. have you checked your status checker for Florida Coastal? I know that school is bottom of your list but they're admitting people now.
congratulations on the scholarship and going to 'Bama (though I would personally never go to the South, I'm a lil too liberal to survive there). Best of luck to you there!
What if you get a better scholarship from a school higher on your "list"? :) Just curious...especially since you've decided and you have at least 20 schools left to hear from.
hey, i see you applied to st. thomas a month ago. have you received any sort of confirmation that they received your app, and if you have, do you know how long after applying you got it? i appreciate the info - and good luck on your cycle!
Why LSU over schools like Seton Hall and John Marshall.I have friends that go to both and they are really great schools.
Congratulations on your acceptances insofar and I know I'll see more when I check back again. #KeepYourHeadUp
I apologize, I was referring to John Marshall in Chicago
Just wanted to say good luck on the rest of your cycle! Congrats on your acceptances so far especially FSU :)
I watch-listed you when I still wanted to go to law school since we had similar numbers. I since dropped my law school plans, but I wanted to say congrats on all your acceptances! I remember over the summer you had a lot of comments about not getting in anywhere and u were wasting your time so hah to them!
no Howard??? I heard they place well for blacks, of course I may have heard wrong... maybe something to look into? Good luck with your cycle!
I decided to go to USF, good luck on the application process and congrats on the acceptances so far :)
Hey brother. Thanks for your service. Good luck this cycle. I especially like that 161. Hit it big!
Congrats man on getting in at Alabama. Is the scholarship for the total amount or yearly?
No word from Miami yet?
Wow I am flabbergasted that you did not get into UM. But you are in Alabama with scholarship money. So you are set. Good Luck to you sir!
hey man, did UF actually send you a waitlist letter or just that no decision reached on the status checker?
Foremost, thank you for your service. Congratulations on your 160. Good luck this cycle and I wish you the best.
I understand you wanting to leave these other school for "shits and giggles" since you'd like to know the final tally. But if you are pretty sold on Bama or FSU why don't you withdraw from these other schools and give others a chance. I understand leaving some like UGA or Florida but these lower ranked schools you should withdraw from. You have been accepted to some great schools and if you hadn't I am sure you'd like others to have the same consideration for you, but in the mean time you may be getting considered for a seat that others really need.
Congrats on your acceptances. Good to another black man doin his thang. Keep the progression goin.
lemme guess.. you went with Alabama? ... SMH.. Seattle is a little better than that. ;)
Any idea how much Military/URM really matters? We have somewhat similar backgrounds. FSU is my #2 and I was wondering how you think you got in? Biting my nails for DEC LSAT scores but it won't be pretty
Heartfelt congratulations on Miami! You have quite a story, and I'm really happy to hear that you got into a school with a full-ride. You deserve it more than most. Good luck on your three years!
Congrats on your cycle and I wish you much success in the future!!!
That is so awesome! Congrats on your cycle and best wishes at University of Miami!
Congrats! Best of Luck in Miami! Enjoy the city!
I'll be seeing you next year at Miami! I haven't officially accepted yet, but I'm going to once I can get the money together.
Big ups on Getting into UMiami. You got a 90K Scholly too that's great news. I'm so proud of you I know you'll do great!!!
I remember seeing your profile and after you were rejected from Miami, I remember you posting something to the effect that "Miami doesn't seem like a serious place to go to school anyhow." My, my, how attitudes change. I'm sure it seems "serious enough" now.
Congrats on the acceptances, good luck in Miami
hey bro, congrats on Miami. Too bad their football team isn't up to par though.
Why not Tuscaloosa? Do you have ties to South Florida or something? Regardless, good luck.
Well congratulations!!!
Hey, any advice for a fellow Military Veteran. I served for Operation Enduring Freedom. GPA is kinda low and first time taking LSAT and didn't do to well. Thanks
Good God, that's a long list!! I just had a question. Did you end up spending a lot of money on application fees and taking the LSAT? How did you manage to budget? Anywho, best of luck! You have great factors that I hope will help you (like being a veteran). :)
