Numbers fudged a bit.
I put choices up, but I'd be psyched with any of these schools obviously.
10/17/09
-Got my LSAT score: 167. I'm ok with it because I was nervous as hell going into the test, and I drank too much coffee before the test and had to run out during the third section to pee. Signed up for Dec already. Hope to get 170 this time.
10/31/09
- My twin brother got his GMAT score today: 770 out of 800 99 percentile. Now it's my turn to do well. Hopefully we can go to the same school, or at least to schools in the same city. He's not applying until the 2011 year, but since Law School is 3 years and Business School is 2 years, it works out, though depending on my Dec LSAT, I may have to defer my cycle until next year.
12/4/09
- I jammed my finger playing Thanksgiving football (and it's still swollen, making it hard to write with my right hand), then I food poisoned myself by making kidney bean soup and under cooking the beans, and my two closest coworkers have been coughing up a lung for the past two days, but oddly enough I'm pretty confident going into this test. 45 practice tests might do that, though. Hopefully I don't get nervous or lose focus. Good luck to everyone else taking the test tomorrow.
12/5/09
- Nope, confidence shot. The year of 2009 is not my year for tests. 0/7. Also, I hate reading about Japanese sculptors apparently.
12/18/09
- I guess I counted my chickens before they hatched. 0/5 is now 1/6, I passed the third section of my CPA exam. Hopefully I can end the year 2/7 (relative to expectations).
12/28/09
- 167 yet again. -13/14 curve? Wow. I'm going to get my list of schools finalized (probably Berkeley, UW, and UCLA) and send my apps once my LOR are in (hopefully by New Years), and if nothing good happens, I'm fine with waiting another year.
1/15/2010
- Sent in all my apps. I really hope I get into UW. And if I should be so lucky that Berkeley gives me any consideration at all, that would be great too, but UW is pretty much #1. And if I don't get into any school, not a huge deal since I didn't apply to any safeties and can always retake and apply next year.
2/18/2010
- Rejection email from Berkeley. Expected obviously. Dean Tom writes a hell of a rejection letter. I felt bad that he had to give me bad news, but to be sort of in the running for Berkeley is an honor in and of itself. I'm hoping UW and USC put me under review soon. I'm already under review at GULC.
2/26/2010
- Passed my fourth and final section of my CPA exam! On a side note, I stumbled across this article (http://pdfserver.amlaw.com/nlj/law%20schools_charts_page12.pdf). I didn't know that USC placed so well into big law (though I'm not certain I'd want to do big law). The good thing about applying to only four schools and no safeties is that you're psyched if you get into one. The bad thing is, there's a chance of delaying law school for another year.
3/3/2010
- Decision Rendered at GULC. Fully expecting a rejection, but I applied FT/PT so perhaps not. Hope to be under review at USC and UW soon.
3/5/2010
- Rejected by GULC via email.
3/6/2010
- In Review at UW! Nervous with anticipation and excitement.
3/26/2010
- In review at USC. Still no word from UW.
3/29/2010
- Blank on UW status checker, which generally means decision rendered. Now I just have to wait for the mail to come in.
3/30/2010
- The mail came quick and I'm in at UW! What a nerve-wracking cycle. On cloud nine though, and can't wait to start law school.
4/21/2010
- WL at USC, not that it matters. Unless Seattle has an earthquake or something.

I took an unreal number of practice tests (30+) which made all the difference for me. I took most of them under strict time limits in a quite area. It really just became second nature. RC was my weakness as well but I was very solid on the other three sections. Good luck!
Thanks Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 at 8:36 am
and good luck to you too! Here's hoping being a few years out will do us both some good this cycle.
best of luck Monday, October 12th, 2009 at 10:21 am
haha was that last practice test the June 2009 dino/willa cather extravanganza? hope you rocked the actual exam, and good luck on the cycle!

a 167 is better than 9/10 people can do bro, our concept of a "good" lsat score is so skewed by tls. I'm sure you'll top an already awesome score on the retake and get into a great school.
weird Tuesday, October 20th, 2009 at 2:41 am
Kind of weird, but you are like the male version of me.
I:
am Asian
Scored 167 on Oct LSAT; Taking it again in Dec.
3.6 GPA - Finance major
Was in Delta Sigma Pi
And am applying to the same schools
just had to comment... well good luck =)

Just wanted to say thanks for the luck, and good luck to you as well! Hopefully we can rock December's test so our averaged LSAT's are strong enough for most of the T14. =)
(After a quick scan of your profile, I see you're possibly on TLS as well.. maybe see you around.)

thanks for the kind words. Looks like you did great on your LSAT as well! Best of luck and here's to hoping we both have great cycles! Take care, B

Good luck to you too.

Thanks for the congrats man. Getting into a T10 definitely takes a lot of the pressure off. Good luck on your retake! It's definitely worth it!
thanks! Sunday, November 15th, 2009 at 12:59 am
and good luck on the Dec LSAT! I was much less nervous the second time around, and improved a lot.
Thanks so much! Sunday, November 15th, 2009 at 4:28 am
I'm psyched to be in at Texas. I'm sure you'll have a great cycle, too. You can knock that LSAT out of the park. My highest practice test was 170 before scoring 168. With PT scores like yours, I think your goal of 170 is VERY reasonable. Go get it!
Re: Your comment Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at 2:21 am
Looks like you ended up with my numbers although not in the same order. Hopefully you'll end up with a score higher than mine!
Anyways, I decided to apply next year. Turns out my 3.5 is really an LSDAS 3.44. I'm going to raise that.
Best of luck with the retake!

I guess a repeat score wasn't exactly what you were hoping for, but it's much better than a 166 or below, I say! Good luck on your cycle, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. =)

Best Christmas present EVER.
Thank you for commenting on my profile and good luck to you this cycle!

Thanks for saying hi! I, too, hope that I have to buy my friend a beer. I like your list a lot and think you have a great shot at all four schools. Don't sweat the repeat score too hard. The same thing happened to a friend of mine (with a lower score) and he's now at Penn. Good luck!
Thursday, February 18th, 2010 at 4:54 pm
thanks! UW was my first choice, and I feel very fortunate to have been accepted. good luck to you on the rest of your cycle!
Thanks Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 at 6:24 pm
Thanks, Hers. I definitely have been getting a lot of great offers, though it's a bit confusing when all of the schools I've been admitted to have offered a decent amount of money (minus UW, which is really unfortunate, and I'm still waiting on USC), but none of those ranked higher than Vandy will even offer admission. Oh, well, it's been a strange cycle and I'm glad for what I've got! Not excited about having to decide, though. Best of luck with all your apps - you should have a great shot!
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at 10:37 pm
GL to you as well!!
Thanks Saturday, March 13th, 2010 at 1:48 pm
for the congrats. I have no clue where I'll end up at this point. I'm incredibly undecided. GL w/ UW and USC.
Best wishes at UW Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 at 2:33 am
Hey, thanks for the note. I hope you get in at UW! It's a fantastic school, and if things weren't looking so ideal at BYU, I'd probably be going there.
Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 at 7:22 pm
I said it on TLS and I'll say it here...CONGRATULATIONS!
Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 at 6:23 pm
Hey congratalutions on Udub! I've seen you on TLS and you def deserved to get in. See you there in the fall!

Throw 'em up!
thanks !! Monday, March 21st, 2011 at 12:30 pm
Yeah, it's definitely a bummer about UW, but Vandy oughta be great and at least my decision is easier! Are you loving UW? Yours was still the happiest acceptance I can remember :)
