Thanks for the advice but I actually just found out yesterday that the Fall class for next year is full. EHH soo annoying...so I guess I'll be trying again next year...maybe.
- svorndraHaha I like your metaphor. I actually just got a phone call today from Detroit Mercy notifying me that I'm in! So I guess that's where I'll be going....do you know anything about them?
- svorndrayea, i'm happy that i'm finally in somewhere...if i hear from dayton i think i'll probably head there just because i'm a little nervous about living in detroit. i'm going up there this weekend though to check it out, so i'm hoping i feel a little more comfortable with it after that.
- svorndrathanks again for all your info!!
- svorndraare you planning to retake your lsat again? we have similar gpas but i'm taking my lsat in sep.
- selina19well, my studying is horrible. I've been lazy, sick and tired of everthing. But i'm back now. I'm just finishing off my bible and then hoping to work on just solving previous questions. How you studying your lsat?
- selina19yes it's just around the corner let's work on it! when you planning to apply? you got your other stuff read?
- selina19I need work on mine....
- selina19sure, I'll do that when I'm done you got any aim or anything? you can also send me yours, I'll take a look at it.
- selina19Good luck to you! I hope you get in.
- steveclankDid IUPUI inform you that your application was complete?
- indylawI actually called them yesterday to see if they had everything. That way I can rest easy. I haven't actually gotten anything from them yet. Good luck to you. Hopefully we will be classmates.
- indylawYou do realize Nicole is pregnant, so, if your changes are proportional to her size, you are looking at a pretty hefty sized chance! Keep me updated and Happy Thanksgiving.
- indylawYou are right with the dates. I believe we should hear by Dec. 30th. I am really hoping for before Christmas. I am tired of the family asking if I have heard anything. Obviously I haven't. Don't they think they would be the first ones I told:) On a side note, let's just hope Nicole continues to gain weight.
- indylawI guess the waiting game continues. Paws and Think matches troubled children with shelter dogs and trains the dogs to be service animals. It's a great organization.
- indylawI sure hope you ar right. I am not sure if I can stand waiting all month. I will not be happy if they decide to hold my app for regular decision
- indylawgood luck on your applications bro!
- jamestran8888Sorry about the reject! I'm sure you'll get in somewhere else.
- steveclanksorry bout the rejection to depaul... i am sure i will be next. Good luck to the rest of your schools!
- jamestran8888Sorry about Depaul...but you better hope one of us hears from IU-Indy within the next 24 hrs:)
- indylawMy top choice is actually U of Louisville. There's a couple of reasons why I want to stay here...
- steveclankI haven't heard either. I am definitely starting to get anxious. I noticed someone on her got held until regualr admission. That will definitely frustrate me!
- indylawnothing in the mail today...I sure hope I find out something before Christmas.
- indylawnothing in the mail today...I sure hope I find out something before Christmas.
- indylawThat sucks about getting deferred. But, don't get discouraged. If they were going to reject you, they would have just done it. Keep the faith!!
- indylawgood luck on INDY. You should call the school and ask about being placed into their summer start up session. I was told that I was in it in February. Let then know how dedicated you are in comming. Keep the faith and good luck.
- latinlordhey! we have a LOT of similar schools and numbers....just wanted to say good luck with your cycle : )
- pomrlawLooks like we are fellow deferr applicants. Hopefully we still stand a decent shot! I guess it's better than a rejection.
- roncampbthought i did a lot better. went up a whole stinkin point.... good luck though, with all those similar schools, we may be classmates : )
- pomrlawI know! the LSAT totally killed me. twice. my top three would probably be michigan state, case western, or depaul. Im strongly considering michigan state though. good luck to you!!!! maybe we will be classmates.
- pomrlawi really like your thesis topic. i wrote my senior thesis on egyptian democratization...not as interesting but hey, it was to me. haha
- pomrlawI got good news from John Marshall and VU. However, VU didn't offer me money which I am a little surprised. If I get rejected from IU-Indy, I'll have to go with the money John Marshall is offering me since I feel VU and John Marshall are close. What do you think? Hey, maybe we could end up at the same school! Good luck.
- roncampbGreat news will come on its way for you. By the way, is there anything you can advise me about Indianapolis since I will move over there. Good luck with the cycle and Happy holiday
- haitianThanks for the prompt and kind reply. I will definitely take your suggestion in consideration. Reason why I went for the M.S., Accounting, because I was thinking about writing the CPA...the fact that I did not have enough accounting credits. I could either take additional classes, or take the classes in the form of a master degree. Thus, I decided to go for a M.S. instead. I will eventually sitting for it, because I believe that having a CPA, and law degree can be an amazing conbination. Moreover, I am working the International Tax Services right now, I am the only employee with no JD, and LLM in Tax.
- haitianI forgot to address your point about the MBA...Somehow, depends on what you want to do in life, I greatly believe that having one is always worth it. In my case, while a lot of students might not find a great job after law school, this will never happen to me as long as there exist accounting, and financial firms. As I mentioned previously, my team in the International Tax Services, if you don't have a law degree with an accounting background, it is less likely to get in. I can only tell you to go for it if you can afford it, because soon or later, it will serve you well.
- haitianThanks for the input. I am looking at the Chicago schools and VU because of location. MSU is a bit of a distance, and I don't know if I can see myself practicing in that area after graduation. That was my main detirminer. And well VU is not in consideration now, because I can't turn down the money that JM offered compared to the big "0" VU threw out there. However, I'm really hoping for IU-Indy, but i'm not too sure how that will work out... Maybe we'll end up being classmates! Keep me posted.
- roncampbThanks on John Marshall!
- crunky1Thanks on John Marshall!
- crunky1what type of correspondence did u receive from the indy?
- iwillAs of now I plan on visiting Valpo in a month. The good news is that I have other options now that may even be better...we'll see!
- michellev4Good luck! Did you apply for the summer program as well? If not, you should.
- bdeaumanwishing you the best of luck. i definitely think you'll get into john marshall =)
- eddiesgirl29SLU isn't home, but it sure feels like it. I was in STL for 4 years for my undergraduate education and really want to get back to my friends and the mid-west. Besides, the summers are far easier than here in Austin. I'm also leaning heavily on my graduate work. My UGPA and my Grad GPA are worlds apart and I hope they understand that. We'll see though. Let me know as soon as you hear anything and I'll be sure to do the same. If I'm offered a seat at SLU I'm taking it, so perhaps I'll see you there (fingers crossed). Don't hesitate to email.

- bdeaumanWhat about the summer institute at SLu? Have you thought about that program? I am strongly considering SLU as an option.
- CrimLawHispanicWe have a similar LSAT and both applied to SLU PT...did you request summer institute or did they offer it to you? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated - Thank you and Congrats!
- hrl1001When does the SLU summer program start? Are you considering it? Thanks!
- bdeaumanThanks for the info. Don't hesitate to write and keep me in the loop. Maybe I'll see you in the fall :)
- bdeaumanI didn't apply for Summer Institute or write an essay...I'm thinking it would have been wise to do so as an afterthought. Congrats on SLU & Cooley. Is SLU your 1st choice?
- hrl1001My top 2nd tiers are GA State, SLU & Indy for proximity to home (from IL)...as far as third tiers go I'm ok with John Marshall & Loyno but I think John Marshall is great if you plan to practice in Chicago. I haven't visited New Orleans since I was younger so I would really need to visit to make sure it's a place I would want to live for 3+ years...also, I'm in ATL right now so GA State would be ideal. I was pretty upset about DePaul even tough I knew a denial was coming my way. Anyways, yes, I loved Art History but the majority of my coursework was in architecture - I switched degrees. I'll keep you posted on acceptances/denials...by the way, I was pretty shocked on my WL from SIU. I really thought I stood a good shot there - guess not?!
- hrl1001How did MSU let you know you were waitlisted?
- chizemaWell, I was rejected by MSU in the time between reading your response and this post. Not the end of the world, but obviously rejections are never easy to take. As of now, Valpo is the only place I've been accepted. I'm really hoping to get into JMLS, so the option of staying in Chicago is still available. Good luck getting off of the waitlist!
- chizemaI suppose I don't need to add to my anxiety by being on a waitlist. I wasn't too keen on moving to, or practicing in MSU, but it is a really good school. Hopefully you'll hear back soon from them. Have you really been complete at JMLS since November and haven't heard back? Seems to me you should have no trouble getting in there.
- chizemaCongrats on being admitted to SLU. Will I see you in the fall? I hardly know any info on the program. We are taking two classes, right? Do you know the specifics? Congrats on your acceptance.
- CrimLawHispanicSo in the fall, would we be full time or part time? Or can we choose either? Hope all is well.
- CrimLawHispanicAs of now, I am attending the Summer Institute at SLU. I am looking forward to the intellectual challenge. I think that we would probably slip in the full time class, but who knows. So, there are 25 students that enroll in the program. I know that they take only 13 students, right? Conditional programs are always a little disconcerning, but oh well. I know that we will be assessed through exams and through law school exercises. Are you originally from Saint Louis? What did you think of the surrounding area? During the summer, you cannot buy a meal plan and you cannot live on campus. I hope that this helps. Look forward to hear from you, and congrats again on SLU!
- CrimLawHispanicYou mentioned that you liked SLU. What did you like about it beattyrot?
- CrimLawHispanicHi Beattyrot, Good to hear from you. Thanks for calling SLU for that 13/25 deal. Why do they say 50 percent on their website? I am curious to hear their response on how they place the summer institute students.
- CrimLawHispanicWell, maybe this 50 percent business is a motivation to work very hard in the program. Who knows! Here is a link that you may find interesting. There seems to be some alumni, who are not in Saint Louis. <a href="http://law.slu.edu/alumni/getinvolved/alum_admis_net.html" title="http://law.slu.edu/alumni/getinvolved/alum_admis_net.html" class="data">http://law.slu.edu/alumni/getinvolved/alum_admis_net.html</a>
- CrimLawHispanicGreat to hear from you. I submitted my deposit to SLU this afternoon. Right now, I am leaning toward SLU. I love the fact that they are Jesuit and I am impressed by most of their programs. When are you planning on applying for financial aid? I guess after the Professors judge our performance, then we apply. So, I assume that it is in early August. A plethora of uncertainty...but ah well...It will be an exciting intellectual endeavor. GO Billikens.
- CrimLawHispanicSo, you are choosing SLU over a for sure deal like MSU? Well, SLU is a better school, and I think that you will have better job options. I admire your diligence!
- CrimLawHispanicJust wanted to say congrats on getting into JMLS! I'm hoping I get good news from them as well. Looks like your patience and persistence paid off...best of luck!
- chizemaHi Beattyrot, Last year SLU came in slightly over 50% (12 of 20). SLU did lose 1 student during the course of the semester. The admission office just gave me these facts. What are your thoughts? I wanted to share this with you.
- CrimLawHispanicHi Beattyot, Last year, one decided that it was not for him/her. Therefore, one student dropped. 12/19 ended up passing. Does that clarify things? Are you nervous? I am a little bit, but we both seem like we want it. Therefore, I am confident that we will both pass. Did you turn in your deposit?
- CrimLawHispanicHey my friend, You are right on the money. THe conditional program is not all that bad. If 19 students do well, my impression is that they will accept 19 students. The conditional program does not seem to be designed to be harsh. It seems that it is designed to be a help. You and I will both pass. I just wanted to make sure that you knew the statistics from the admission department.
- CrimLawHispanicGood to hear from you my friend. At this point, I will be at SLU's summer institute. I like to take the road "less traveled." I look forward to the intellectual endeavor. You are right. I am still pending. If I hear from Hastings, then I will weigh my options for each school. I am leaning toward SLU. How are you doing?
- CrimLawHispanicHey there...just checking in. Are you still leaning towards SLU? I've been WL but staying hopeful. When does your summer session begin?
- hrl1001it is almost time.... I am counting down the days! Go Billikens! <a href="http://www.slu.edu/x22661.xml" title="http://www.slu.edu/x22661.xml" class="data">http://www.slu.edu/x22661.xml</a>
- CrimLawHispanicHey! Not sure if you still check this but I was taken off the waitlist at SLU so I\\\\\\\'ll be seeing you this fall! How was/is summer institute?
