Did Dean Richards tell you about it over the phone? Crap, I was afraid of this. I got no mention of scholarship with my acceptance.

I applied to another program there and didn't want to cross applicate because I'm paranoid about hurting my chances either way.

congrats on GW,... Im a 1L there and really trying to avoid writing a brief, so im online... if you dont get into Harvard or NYU you should definitely consider it. The job opportunities are identical to those out of G-Town, or at least close, we are friendlier then those students (less nerdy/competitive), and we are in a much better part of the city,.. I mean, the G-town kids would probably disagree with most of that, except the better part of town thing... congrats on the great grades and good luck though.... if you have questions about dc/gw/lawschool, feel free to email me...

  • Don't go to GW!
  • Friday, March 23 2007 at 03:25 PM

Do NOT go to GW if you can go to Gtown. Let me emphasize this again: do NOT. The only thing that the above poster said that is true is regarding the location: GW is in a much better location than Georgetown's Law Center. (Of course, Georgetown's actual main campus is in a much better location than GW ... karma balances everything out) Just like if you get in Harvard or NYU, you'll get access to opportunities that you couldn't get at Georgetown, if you go to Georgetown, you'll have a world of opportunities that really are not available to George Washington students (except maybe the top 5% of their class) My advice to you: take that GW offer right to the Gtown law admissions people. Seriously. They like URMs and they like to put GW in it's place, so I can guarentee you that they'll manifest $$$ for you. Maybe not $120,000, but a good figure.

- GW? Kidding me?

You're deferring at one school while applying to others? Don't you sign an agreement saying you won't apply to other schools when you defer? Just curious...
