12/13. As expected, denied at Temple. The infamous white envelope that says thanks for your donation!

12/13. Despite my early rejections, I am still very up beat about this whole process. All of my decisions have gone as projected. As for the process alone, I am not putting too much stock into this rankings game. Rankings kill dreams. At the end of the day a JD is a JD. With the few exceptions being Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Michigan, and Georgetown. Having spoken to various lawyers, the consensus is that a schools's reputation will carry you for landing that first job right out of law school, and maybe for a few years thereafter. A school's reputation does not guarantee your success (or failure) in the legal profession. After law school, it's mostly about your experience in the field. 10 to 15 years from now, few employers will care where you went to law school. You could become a marginal lawyer from a great school (there are many out there) or a great lawyer from a marginal school (there are many out there as well). So for all of us who are aspiring to become great lawyers, no matter where you end up just kick butt! Good luck to all who read this.

1/10. No official letter from Penn State but I spoke with an admissions associate who basically indicated that I would not be admitted.

1/11. Waitlisted at Florida Coastal? Sent email to check status. Director of admissions replied with waitlist status. Kind of surprised, but no biggie.

1/14. Waitlisted at Valpo.

1/22. In at Drexel!!! Are you serious??? $21k per year Trustee' Scholarship. I am shocked. The letter was sent to my address in philly. My mom called with the good news! Sending letter in the mail tomorrow.

1/23. In at TSU. Standard white envelope. No scholarship info.

1/30. Not surprisingly I got rejected at Howard. But my spirits are high because I'm going to law school!!!

2/6. Accepted at Cooley. No scholarship info.

2/13. Accepted at Cleveland Marshall via the CLOP summer program. Thick letter size white envelope. No scholarship info.

2/20. Received a call from Ohio Northern admissions. They think I would be a good candidate for their summer start program which begins in June. Would like me to go interview over the next few weeks. I will most likely withdraw instead.

2/22. Got a call from the Assistant Dean at Indy Law today. I'm accepted through the summer LEO program. This is a total shock!!! God is good.

3/8. I was placed on hold for admission into University of Baltimore Summer admit program.

3/9. Offered an opportunity to participate in the conditional alternative admissions program at New York Law School

3/10. Offered conditional admittance through TAP.

Oops...

They dinged you on Tuesday -- not yesterday. Regardless, you will get in some place. Take care.

Thanks!

Friday, September 16 2005 at 08:00 PM

With your pending ones, I wish you the best! We may end up at the same school.

Don't get discouraged
Saturday, May 08 2004 at 08:00 PM

I had the same scores as yourself. Although I applied to many different schools. I was accepted by TX Southern. So there is always hope.

Valpo Waitlist
Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

The letter that I received just said "waitlist". I'm not aware of a pending admissions status.

Wow congrates on Drexel, and wow what a scholarship. I must have miss their LSAT cut off or something, b/c I didn't get in. boo Anyway that offer is going to be tough to beat,.I'm happy for you good luck!

Congratulations!
Friday, October 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

Congratulations on your acceptances to TX Southern and Drexel! Given a choice between the two, which one do you prefer? Best Regards!

Drexel or TSU
Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

While there is some risk in attending a non aba approved law school, I strongly believe that Drexel will get it's accredidation very quickly, probably in the same time fram as Ave Maria, which is very solid school in only it's 5th year. I am from the philly area and I intend to practice in or around philly, so given Drexel's regional reputation as a University, the logical choice for me would be Drexel. It's not a knock on TSU, I think TSU is a solid school, and good job prospects for it's elite students. But given the magnitude of the scholarhsip, and Drexel's east coast location, I'd have to give the nod to Drexel. If I were in Houston or in a surrounding state, then I'd be inclined to take TSU's offer.

LSAT Score
Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

Actually i have three scores and the 146 is the average. I'm not sure how to fix this problem, but I've tried to add my third score in my profile but it just keeps showing the two scores.

Howard
Friday, December 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

Sorry about Howard, but hey, like you said, you're going to Law School. Congrats!!! Hope the rest goes well.

you're welcome.
Friday, December 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, Valpo put me on the 'admissions pending' list and then I haven't heard a peep out of NCCU or FCSL. I did participate in an online chat with UDM a few days ago since they had sent me an email alerting me of Financial aid chats they'd be having. So, hopefully I start getting some big envelopes too. I hadn't really thought about Texas, but I'll keep it in mind. THANKS for the suggestion.

congrats!
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

on drexel. the undergrad alumni are like a virus. they infect a company and start doing everything they can to multiply. you WILL have options when you come out. i believe they are going to continue the coop thing. you should be able to pay off the rest of the tuition on that alone. most undergrads get their first job through the coop. it's good to see another local boy done good. good luck and cograts again!

Thanks!
Tuesday, September 27 2005 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the word on Drexel. I am thinking that I will be packing up the wife & dog and hauling across the US from Santa Barbara to Philly in the next few months!

Congrats

Hey they called me last night!! I don't remember Angela (did angela call you too) saying anything about the summer program but I think i was in such shock that I had trouble understanding what she was saying. She probibly thought i was a retard or something. I was soo shocked. I actually hope I don't have to do the summer thing, but if they want me to I will for a tier 2 top 100 school i'll do just about anythingj!!! :) Congrats!!! Seriously if we both go there we should meet up!!

By the way
Sunday, August 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

I forgot to say it was for Indiana University you see i'm still shocked!!! Gracias a Dios!!

congrats!
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

on iu-indy. did you visit the site? look at the library! dude, you have some serious decisions ahead of you. don't be rash. go on some visits. just because a school gives you money does not make it the best place for you. you have several months to go before you have to make a final decision. both enjoy this time and do all the research you can. take care man.

Congrats...
Friday, December 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

on Indiana. Well done. At least you have some choices and I'm sure the rest will come in so you'd have to do some serious thinking. :-)

Diggs.. regarding Penn St.
Monday, December 05 2005 at 07:00 PM

Did you ever get an official letter notifying you that you were rejected?

Congrats on IU-Indy
Friday, April 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

Who is this? You know about my dreams? It's apparent that we must know each other. So tell me something about you.

wassup..
Friday, December 16 2005 at 07:00 PM

just checking on your profile. Seems we both have been in the conditional program stacks at the same schools lately. Well, congrats on your acceptances! Seems you're doing well so far. Can't wait to see the rest...or have you decided already?

Next Year
Tuesday, March 07 2006 at 07:00 PM

Do you know where you are going next year?

Indiana Univ @ Indianapolis
Thursday, December 29 2005 at 07:00 PM

Did you apply to their summer program or did they just select you and tell you that you could attend if you attend their summer program? I didn't apply to the summer program, so I'm hoping I can get in at least through their regular admission---just thought I'd ask since we have similar numbers. Thanx P.S.- Oh yeah, crimson and cream is my favorite also.....it's just oh so "DevaStaTing"! ;)

yummyoma cannot follow directions.
Thursday, December 29 2005 at 07:00 PM

lol.....thanks for your quick response. I appreciate it. OO-OOP!

LOL!
Thursday, December 29 2005 at 07:00 PM

Guess I should've used a title heading for my last message! LOL. That's funny how that "I can't follow directions" message automatically appears if I do't use a title! Don't believe the hype people....I CAN actually follow directions! ha,ha,ha!

Hey congrats on ur acceptances
Sunday, August 21 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hey congrats. Looks like you chose drexel. Dame you would have been in my summer start up class @ Indiana. The class was great, I learned a lot. I feel prepared for the fall. Would have like to meet you in Indiana. Still though, good luck at Drexel. That school has some great potencial.
