Additional info & updates

*Received date = LSAC report request.
GSU - mailed deposit.

GSU - phone call, accepted off of waitlist, OMFG!!!!

GSU - mail, waitlisted.
I guess it's official that I am attending FSU. I would love to stay in Atlanta, but I don't feel like riding the waitlist or rushing to find a place to live if I got off last minute.

FSU - paid my seat deposit online. Had to pay a $5 convience fee. :-/

Seattle, withdrew by default.

UGA - online, rejected.
Just waiting on GSU and won't hear anything until after April 15th. Will work on a LOCI when I actually have a second.

UGA - online, in review
GSU - called, on Hold

GSU - mail, letter from fin aid regarding checking the status of my fin aid information. Does this mean I'm in? Updated (04.07.08) No, it doesn't mean I'm in.

Tulane - mail, :-(

Stetson - withdrew.

Tulane - online, Decision letter mailed. (I guess this means I'm rejected, but I'll change officially when I know. I hope I have gotten in, I think I really belong at this school, but I understand it's a reach and am approaching it as such as far as my expectations are concerned. It's funny, I've heard from everyone except my GA schools.)

FSU - mail, ACCEPTED - small envelope to permanent address (dated 02.28.08) (will have more info when I go home to get my letter!!!!!!!!! Very excited! As the conversation with my Dad went:

Dad: (after I said he could open the letter) Well, do you want to go to Florida State
me: silence
Dad: 'cause, you can if you want to.

I'm still waiting on GSU (and my reaches, of course), but A LOT of stress has lifted off my shoulders.

GSU - getting nervous.
Stetson - mail, ACCEPTED - Large envelope to current address, no scholarship (dated 01.17.08)

Happy Leap Day!
Called Stetson to inquire about the lack of an acceptance package. Another is in the mail. I guess the original got lost, since it was mailed January 16th apparently.
Scheduled a tour and class sit in for the 31st of March for FSU. Very excited.

GSU - mail, finaid office letting me know I need to be accepted before they can do anything. I'm still waiting GSU, come on now.

Welp, it's the last week of Feb. and I haven't heard anything new. On the upside, and based on LSN, it looks like Tulane is about to start re-reviewing applications they set aside intially. Maybe we'll hear something soon.

Stetson - mail, received Financial Aid information congratulating me on my acceptance. Where's my acceptance letter?
Received a couple of emails from GSU. They make the point that the emails should not be construed as an acceptance, but I have a hard time believing that they would place me on a distribution list for periodic emails if they don't intend on keeping me on them. Here's hoping. Come on GSU!

Thanks Tulane! You almost gave me another heart attack today! I need an acceptance email also.

Need more acceptances...or denials. I want this cycle to be over. I'm already stressing over how I am going to pay for school, I'd like to not be stressing over where I'll be going.

Seattle - mail, ACCEPTED - Large envelope to current address, scholarship included (dated 01.16.08, post mark 01.18.08)
USC - mail, ACCEPTED - Large envelope to current address, scholarship included (dated and post marked 01.15.08)

Seattle - online, Decision Mailed (file last updated on 01.07.08)

Thanks Tulane! You almost gave me a heart attack today!
Tulane - online, Application still undergoing review.

I am quickly loosing faith that I will hear from any of these schools.
Does anyone have any idea on where Tulane sends its correspondence? The permanent address or current mailing address? I need to know where to expect my rejection letter.

For those who live in GA, today is the deadline to register to vote for the Primary.

Happy New Year!
I am starting to go crazy again.

All the items on the online status checker say "YES" and have said so for at least 10 days now. I never got any notification that I was complete, though.

Thank you for the support - I do believe we had the same numbers but I think it was smart for both of us to make some slight alterations to our profiles - too easy to be "audited". Who knows, maybe we'll end up at the same place...we'll see, best of luck!!!

Tuesday, November 13 2007 at 08:03 AM

Thanks for the stop by. I'm from the Mississippi coast and my brother went to Tulane for his masters. Hopefully, you'll get in at Tulane and come ask me about the city if you need any advice about it. Good luck the rest of the way!

I am sure its coming. Are you a Florida resident?

Friday, November 16 2007 at 11:33 AM

Ahh... Perhaps that is why. Also, on my status checker it still says reviewing. So, don't worry too much about the status checker not working properly.

Saturday, November 17 2007 at 05:32 AM

Any idea on why you haven't gone complete at FSU yet? Have you mailed in the certification yet?

Tuesday, November 20 2007 at 10:40 AM

I'm glad that you were able to get information about your file from FSU on the phone, too. I wonder why they aren't updating their status checker? It isn't much good if it isn't up to date, is it? I still haven't received any sort of notice from Stetson although my file should be complete because I sent everything they asked for. I called them once and they told me they were still processing applications for Spring 08...but that was a while ago. Hopefully I will hear from them soon. Seeing that you just heard from them via email makes me feel better. Good luck this cycle. I'll keep an eye on your profile since we have 2 schools in common. 83 is a good index for FSU, you should get in there. I'm not familiar with the stats of the rest. :-)

Wednesday, November 21 2007 at 06:18 AM

I'm not too worried about how long it too me to go complete at FSU because I took forever to mail in my application fee and the other paper stuff. Either way, hopefully both of us will hear from them soon. It seems like they've been really on the ball so far this cycle. I like that!

FSU complete
Tuesday, November 27 2007 at 04:32 PM

Yes, I'm complete at FSU, too. I'm hoping to hear something soon. It looks like they're sending them out in batches because I don't think anyone has been accepted over the past few days. Good luck and I hope I'll get to congratulate you soon.

once complete...
Friday, November 30 2007 at 06:08 AM

at FSU you will hear in like a week. No worries though as dotlyn said you are good to go with that index number and your soft factors. I was BS/BA too...what were your majors? Keep me posted and I am guessing that you hear today or tomorrow or LATEST by mid next week! ALSO KEEP IN MIND THE ACCEPTANCE LETTER IS SMALL SO DON'T BE SURPRISED!!!

Friday, December 21 2007 at 08:42 AM

FSU deferred you? I'm shocked. UF and FSU both seem to be really slow with the admits this year. So far they've only admitted a few very auto-admit people. What's going on with these schools this cycle? It's got me jumpy. :-) Either way...deferral is still good. Good luck with the rest!

Saturday, December 22 2007 at 08:09 AM

FSU deferred you with a 83 index, wow im surprised. What is your LSAT/GPA. I thought with an 83 you would be an accept

Saturday, December 22 2007 at 11:50 AM

How did Florida State notify you?

127 hours
Wednesday, January 02 2008 at 06:21 AM

yeah, I know! I was kinda upset that I have to pay tuition this semester, but hey, HOPE has payed a lot of money towards my education, and I really appreciate Gov. Zell Miller creating the program back in the 90s!

Monday, January 07 2008 at 01:42 PM

Nope, not even a peep from them. I'm not sure if that is good or bad! I'm sure you're in. No telling why they're being so slow and cautious this year.

Tuesday, January 08 2008 at 07:24 AM

I neither grew up in Athens or went to school at UGA...I owned a bar up there for a while.

Tuesday, January 08 2008 at 05:27 PM

Thanks for the tip. I keep hearing that, to simulate the Test, as closely as possible & prep w/as many tests as possible. BTW-when did you take the LSAT? (anything I should be wary of for Feb 08?) [My nephew moved to Columbus GA, last year & loves it, but said your state was really hammered by the lack of rain]

Wednesday, January 09 2008 at 10:03 AM

Thanks for the feedback. Any personal recommendations as far as study routines that work (i.e. frequency w/which you tested yourself)?

FSU Letter
Thursday, January 17 2008 at 03:40 PM

haha Yes they definitely emphasised the word 'hold' with bold, capital letters. It was actually pretty refreshing since I assumed I had been rejected due to such a small envelope. At least we can still hold on to hope! :)

Tuesday, January 22 2008 at 05:08 PM

Yea I just noticed your index. What did your letter actually say? I really doubt you would be put on the deferred list with an 83... maybe just a temp hold.

Wednesday, January 23 2008 at 10:01 AM

I assume that I only went complete a few days ago since I sent my app out 1/08/08. My status checker says "In Process" though. What does yours say? This wait is killing me.

Wednesday, January 23 2008 at 05:57 PM

Thanks...my Tulane acceptance email actually went into my spam folder for some reason. I didn't see it until after I had been accepted for a week or so. Good luck with your outstanding apps!

gsu admission
Thursday, January 24 2008 at 05:39 AM

Have you had any success in contacting the admissions office? Every time I call I get the same message, leave my name and number, and never get a call back. It's fucking frustrating!

Thursday, January 24 2008 at 10:47 AM

My account has been active online for the past two weeks, but only after me pestering them a lot about it not being on there. You may want to check with the admissions office again. I have a contact there who helped me. Send me an e-mail and I'll give it to you. Good luck with your applications, and congratulations on your acceptances! Keep me posted!

Thursday, January 24 2008 at 11:04 AM

Hey! My current and permanent address are the same so I don't really have an answer to your question. Sorry! Congrats on your acceptances so far!

Tuesday, February 05 2008 at 03:28 PM

I got my acceptance from GSU today. My status checker never changed from 'In Process' and the decision came by mail. Good luck and I hope you hear soon.

Wednesday, February 06 2008 at 06:21 AM

GSU is my first choice, at the moment. If I get into UTK, I will at least visit though. I have heard great things about their Commercial Transactions program, so it does interest me a little. But, $8k a year is just too good of a value. Denver, Miami, LSU, and Mercer are all out of the running, barring substantial scholarship offers.

Wednesday, February 13 2008 at 04:25 PM

Hello! Congrats on Stetson! I haven't heard anything concrete from GSU since they told me my application was complete. I did get those 2 emails yesterday though. I am totally with you though- I am already so stressed out about how I am going to pay for school so I wish I could at least stop stressing about where I am going. What is your number 1? Pending Temple and GSU I am really starting to look at Seattle. Are you planning to go in May for ASD?

Wednesday, February 27 2008 at 08:07 PM

That's the same explanation I received from UGA when I contacted them today, but my status remained "Waitlist" through last week. Good luck with GSU!! Keep me posted!

Tuesday, March 04 2008 at 04:40 PM

Yes- sad about GSU but it's okay. This just means I get to experience another city. I am kind of excited for the adventure. I am going to check out Denver later this month and Seattle after that! Good luck with GSU!

Friday, March 07 2008 at 06:15 PM

Congrats! I know you have been waiting a while for that one

Monday, March 24 2008 at 05:34 PM

Hey, Thanks for your message. Decision status says Decision has been made. Current stats says Congratulations! You've been admitted! Hope that helps. Good luck throughout the admissions process!

Monday, May 05 2008 at 08:56 PM

I can't believe you didn't get in with those numbers and being from Georgia.

GSU Wait List
Wednesday, May 07 2008 at 12:08 PM

I am staying on it. At this point though, I don't have any expectations of actually hearing anything from them. I am 99.9% sure I will wind up at Ole Miss.

Wednesday, May 21 2008 at 12:18 PM

congrats. i can\'t believe you were on it in the first place. are you going to stay in georgia now?

Thursday, May 22 2008 at 05:43 AM

Congratulations on the GSU acceptance. Sorry you had to sweat it out so long. Looks like you have some great choices, though.
