Additional info & updates

11/28 Georgetown acceptance. Was in the smallest envelope, almost looked like a rejection letter... Nice personal message about personal statement.

12/14 Notre Dame acceptance. It came in a huge box...

12/15 Loyola Chicago acceptance in the mail.

12/16 UVA waitlisted in an email.

12/17 Cornell acceptance in an email, will receive letter in mail later

12/ 18 U of I acceptance in email, will receive letter in mail later

12/22 Boston U acceptance via phone, will receive letter in mail later. Nice handwritten note about my work overseas.

1/4 Tulane acceptance in email, will receive letter in mail later.
It finally came in an environmentally friendly tote bag. Gotta stay green :)

1/11 Got an email from Berkeley stating that my application was selected for further consideration. It also said that I should anticipate a final decision on or around 2/19. Kind of sounds like an unofficial deferral, but it's really nice to know a specific date as to when I'll be hearing from a school, because this ambiguous waiting is not fun...

1/12 Deferred @ Michigan

1/13 Deferred @ Harvard

(or as other people like to say, "on hold")

1/14 U of C acceptance on voice mail, will receive letter in mail later. Yay! ; o )

1/22 Penn acceptance, I missed the call but I received an in email

1/28 Michigan acceptance in the mail. yay! :) Nice handwritten note about my work overseas.

2/1 Yale rejection letter in the mail :( not very surpising, but still :(

Cornell fee wavier check finally came :)

2/11 No new news. The waiting is torture. I can't believe I still have 7 schools to hear back from...

2/13 Columbia waitlist in the mail. They want to emphasize that I was not waitlisted and that I was "on reserve," but to me it's kinda the same thing. They won't have a decision until the end of May. I'll stick it out though :)

2/13 Seo interview

I feel like the era of good news is over...

2/18 Waitlisted at Berkeley in an email. This is pretty much confirming that this process will never end.... :(

2/25 Northwestern acceptance email. Letter will come in the mail. So excited! I luuuv Chicago and its nice to have options here :)

2/25 No $ from U of C. I just want to vent about this parental contribution thing... It's a joke. Like my parents are really going to pay for law school. No need based aid for me anywhere... Luckily Northwestern and Michigan don't have it....

3/1 Duke acceptance email :)

4/17 Waitlisted at Harvard via email. This is the cycle that never ends...

4/20 Waitlisted at NYU via snail mail

The only waitlists that I will stay on are NYU, Columbia and Harvard. I'm almost done withdrawing and have narrowed it down to 2 schools...

5/12 JR1, 5 min and very brief

5/25 JR2 In at Harvard! I'm sooooooo excited! (the $ in the scholarship section is based off of need btw)

8/31 Rejected at NYU, I really thought that I had withdrawn...

Whats Taking so Long?
Tuesday, April 07 2009 at 08:00 PM

Do you know how long it is going to be before we here back from Cornell? Most of the EA people still haven't heard back, and I am one them. Any thoughts would help.

Thanks...

I was starting to go manic, checking my application status and mail box

Congrats on Cornell!
Tuesday, April 07 2009 at 08:00 PM

Its looking like we have a pretty good shot at ending up at one of the same schools, good luck with the rest of your cycle.

Get over it...
Wednesday, November 04 2009 at 07:00 PM

Get over it, you'll be aight. These remarks do nothing for your cycle, but I understand the need for catharsis...Good luck on your cycle hun!

Saturday, December 19 2009 at 07:00 PM

Wow, people are so ignorant and rude! I want to tell you CONGRATS on all of your awesome acceptances! I'm so happy for you, and I can't wait to see how the rest of your strong cycle will go :)

Ok crazies, enough....

"Try to defend your argument. Please" Is that a joke? No really. Is it? I don't have to defend anything to u? Who are YOU? Lol I have my acceptances/scholarships and I'm pretty content. If I had a 1.0 and a 120 on the LSAT, I could still apply anywhere I want because that's how law school admissions work. They welcome all applications. If they choose to accept a person, that is THEIR decision. If you have a problem with my acceptances, write a letter to the actual school (and try using your real name if you REALLY want to take a stand). Your anger, frustration and bitterness are misdirected. *Sigh* With that being said, if you still want to use your anonymous username and my comments section as your personal venting safe haven, that's fine. Maybe you'll find the peace of mind you so clearly need. I'm done responding to the crazies on here...eww.

GT impressive

congrats on all your acceptances and best of luck with the remainder of your cycle!!

Don't even dignify them with a response

Those same crazies on your wall must have been going crazy to see Sonia Sotomayor be confirmed as the first LATINA Supreme Court Justice. Sorry crazies, but your oppression isn't working as well as it used to. Get over it!

congrats

Hey- I'm not sure why people don't funnel their passionate energy into their own cycles and like you said address any issues with a particular school and not great candidates like yourself who have been extended offers. what most people don't realize is that NO school only looks at mere numbers. Having a school of people with great numbers but no character or diversity would be a boring, insipid institution to gain a law degree. The good news is that most schools realize this, despite the fact that some "anonymous" people may not. I hope this nonsense that some people post just fuels you and enables you to become all the more successful during your three years of law school! Keep the acceptances rolling in- Congratulations.

Hey, What sorority are you in? I'm in one as well. Cassandre

Wednesday, November 04 2009 at 07:00 PM

I've traveled to 30+ countries while in, and since undergrad. Most were for research and community service. 3 of them were extensive projects in Latin American countries. I focused my personal and diversity statement on these experiences.

Monday, January 04 2010 at 07:00 PM

Oh ok thats whats up. skee-oop :)! Congrats again on all your acceptances. I'm still waiting for more... but who knows we could end up in the same section lol

Congratulations

You've very elegantly handled the racist piece of shit making unwarranted comments about your merit. That in itself speaks volume about your character and your fitness for law school. I wouldn't have been so nice...Congrats again, it really is wonderful when you see schools look beyond numbers. Maybe if anonymous had spent his energy serving his community rather than bellyaching about what others have, he'd be as mature and successful as you, and might actually have a shot at a decent school and scholarship. I can't tell you how sick I was when my own family members looked at my low numbers and the good schools I got into and suggested that maybe the school just needed some minorities.

"If you have a problem with my acceptances, write a letter to the actual school (and try using your real name if you REALLY want to take a stand). Your anger, frustration and bitterness are misdirected." I couldn't have said it better myself. Congrats on all of your accomplishments! Just let the ignorant people continue to yell falsehoods and see how far that gets them.

Saturday, December 19 2009 at 07:00 PM

Thank you! Congrats to you also :) What made you decide on Northwestern over UofC, out of curiosity?! You have some fantastic choices!

Yeah, am I gonna see you at ASW? I'm pretty excited

Cool
Tuesday, April 07 2009 at 08:00 PM

I see your form CHI, are you living there rite now? Why would you be considering northwestern over Chi? Do they have a program you really like or something, or do you like that part of the city?

Tuesday, April 07 2009 at 08:00 PM

Yeah I definitely understand that. I actually just sent in my commitment response form today. So I am a Chicago guy now lol Hopefully you choose us or I'll have to hate you for all eternity j.k.

Tuesday, April 07 2009 at 08:00 PM

Well either way you get to go to an awesome school in a great city : )

No high-scoring URMs are sending congrats this way, huh?...STFU!!! You've actually been on my watch-list for a long time (sorry, if that creeps you out, lol) but you have similar numbers to a close friend of mine and its nice to see how you two compare. Anyway, you did GREAT this cycle and you should be very proud. You are an inspiration to all those that think that LSAT scores will close the door to admission. Your GPA is great and you clearly have a solid application. I know URMs with higher stats that were rejected/WL at quite a few schools you were admitted to. You are undoubtedly a strong candidate. Congratulations!!!

Congrats!
Saturday, October 24 2009 at 08:00 PM

Wow, what an amazing cycle! And this is just to prove that LSAT numbers are NOT the end-all to a successful application package! Good luck!

Sunday, May 16 2010 at 08:00 PM

If you aren't attending Loyola can you please withdraw? I'm waitlisted at Loyola and it is my first choice! Thanks :-)

CONGRATS ON HLS!!
Sunday, April 26 2009 at 08:00 PM
