Thanks for the input. I am keeping Cooley as a back-up for now. As far as taking the LSAT's again, I did in December and this was my third attempt. I cant ever seem to hit 150 on my diagnostics. My biggest problem is keeping my first score of 136. Cooley in Lansing is totally accredited, the two new campuses are not. Not to be rude, but I do not take negative advice well from strangers. In the future do your homework on law schools and leave positive feedback. Take it from a person who has hit rock bottom in search of law school. "It is not what your achieve, but what you overcome".
Hello How does Cooley let you know your accepted? Do you think you will attend there? Thanks, RM
Grand Rapids and Oakland. Yes they take the higher score. Check out the website for cooley. Good luck with apps!
I got an email two weeks ago saying they were sending out letters last week. I think we might hear something next week as I get the impression they're running a little behind. Best of luck, I'm crossing my fingers for you!
Mike, Are you considering attending Cooley? If so please email me, I might be there this fall...Paul
It seems we applied to a lot of the same schools. While I know I want to move to FL, I have not decided what school I will attend. I will WD as soon as possible. Good luck to you at St. Thomas (and the other schools).
Actually, the building was open at the beginning of the year. There was a cutting of the ribbon ceremony that took last week. Umm, my friend goes there and I live in Orlando too.
Hey man, yea I was excited and thought how great it would be to study in Ft. Lauderdale, but then again I probibly wouldn't get any work done. Too many hot latina women and too good of nice weather. haha Well anyway, yea It came today in a big white envelope. Big like Cooleys although white. I knew it was some sort of acceptance as soon as I saw it. I love getting those. Anyway you should hear from them anytime time now and from your better LSAT's than me, you should get into the conditional program. The program sounds pretty good. The only thing that scared me a bit is how only 28% of the student in the program pass it and enter the fall class. It also costs over 3,000 dollars and you don't get credit for the two course you take. You would leave soon May 10th! Still though it is a chance to enter a decent law school. Good luck I hope you get in!! Let me know how it goes!!
Thanks for the W. I am not certain that Cooley is my #1 choice, but only because I haven't gotten in anywhere else yet. Something tells me I should give it a shot though and see what the Cooley hype is about. Anywho, thanks for the spot, if St. Thomas is a yes then I shall proceed further south. Congrats, and best wishes!
Nova is a beautiful school. In a great city. Congrats!
I don't Know, they sent it to my house and my mom called me. The only thing that sucks is they won't give merit money untill you decide to attend, which is bad for me because I'd think a lot harder about going with some $$
What kind of input can you give me on FAMU. I am planning on touring if I get an acceptance. I am just nervous as correspondance and feedback from them has been well basically none and I was given some misinformation when I called them. I too thought they had just moved in to the new building from what I was told on the phone.
I think you should be hearing from FAMU very soon. We both applied around the same time and both are in Orlando. The tuition deposit is due April 1st, so I can't imagine they'll leave it much longer. They have to give us some time to deliberate before the deposit is due. I haven't seen the campus yet (it's too hard to find parking downtown!), but from what I've seen on the news it's a nice new building. I don't think I'll be attending, but if they offer me a full scholarship I just might consider it. Best of luck to you, but I think you'll be just fine without it. BTW, the acceptance letter comes in a large white envelope with just 3/4 sheets of paper in it.
Mikey, Congrats on Nova! This is a *much* better deal than Cooley, and it's in sunny Florida! In my opinion, Nova is also superior to Florida Coastal and Barry. Good on ya!
Thanks Mike! I was just plain accepted...No AAMPLE. Congrats on all of your acceptances.
Mike-- In answer to your question my FIU acceptance came in a small thin envelope, just as my St. Thomas one did. Im torn between Nova, FIU and Hofstra ( and i STILL havent heard from my #1 choice), with Nova wanting a deposit next week. Congrads on your acceptances. BTW, im a Gator Grad too! =)
FAMU has an advantage over FIU in that it is a part of a much bigger nationally recognized university. Plus it's a state school and the tuition is much, much less. I have little doubt that it will be accredited in a few years. I think you have a good shot at getting in. I'm a little concerned about how they'll look at your LSAT though. If I were you I would call them and ask if they have a LSAT cutoff. If they say no, tell them what your score is and ask them to please give you a general idea if you have a shot. I've found that sometimes you have to be a little pushy with admissions people. At least that way you'll get a better idea of where you stand. If you do get into FAMU I would recommend it over Nova. Good luck!
Hey man sup, thanks for the congrats. I'll tell you turning down orlando was tough. I would have loved it there, i know it!! Anyway expect a huge white envelope in the mail soon buddy, i'm sure one is in the near future for you. I was so suprised that they let me into the full time fall class with not conditional program or anything. So great to have that option!! Let me know how it goes!
I withdrew from St. Thomas today. Best of luck getting in off the waitlist.
I called them Monday and got the answering machine. Thankfully I got the letter today. I'm in north Florida, which is why FSU is first choice. I wouldn't have far to relocate.
I know you said you live close to FAMU and I was just wondering have you heard anything from them yet?
Any word yet? The waiting is killing me, although I think the odds are not looking good.
I saw that you were going to the AAMPLE too this summer, are you doing the in class portion? Ive already begun studying and will have one of the classes books completed by this weekend. If you want to be study partners or something let me know. If you haven't heard, this program will be gruesome. Email me. - Justin
I decided to withdraw from my waitlist @ St. Thomas. Hopefully you will get my spot. Take care
I hear you have some pictures of Nova. I think I might be attending there this fall, if you could email me the pics that would be great. I live in Washington State so I wont be able to visit the school untill orientation. Have you made a decision between Cooley and Nova?
Any word from FAMU yet or are you set on Nova?
Hey there! Just wondering what happened at Nova? Also, what courses did you take? How many people were there etc.? If you don't want to post it here feel free to email me.
Hey congrats!! I'm glad I withdrew from that school! I'm happy you got a spot!! Better late than never!! ARe you planning on going?? You will love it there, i'm jealous of the location, I really am. Also... I'm just curious though, tell me about the Nova class. I never went, but from the looks of it it was a waste of money anyway. Congrats again!
Hey man, I think I met you duing the CLEO AIE seminar. I was headed to FAMU (still am) and I sat behind you in several classes. I was the tall cuban guy from Miami and we spoke about AAMPLE and that you had just finished it and I told you I was going to do it but then FAMU accepted me.You told me you were on their waiting list. Anyhow, send me an email if you remember me. Peace!
I must agree the Dec. LSAT wasn't that great...I'm driving myself crazy reading all the posts about the answers...I just want to know my score!!!! Anyway, good luck with applications....
