I JUST heard back from them and I put in my application a month ago. I actually have a friend who works in the admission department there and she said they usually don't start making decisions until January. Looks like we have a long wait ahead of us, my friend. Keep the faith and stay positive.
I think my chances are pretty good because of my extracurriculars, but we shall see. Sometimes you never know with law school admissions. This waiting game is killing me. My first choice is NCCU, we shall see what happens. Good luck with you on your cycle as well!!!
What do you think of UDC's part time program? I am thinking of applying part time there as well, but my LSAT is few points lower than yours. Hope I can do well in december though.
I see that you were accepted into St.Thomas. Do you mind if I ask how long it took for them to give you a decision? Also, were you accepted standard or through their "CLEO"(believe that's the name) program? CONGRATS and good luck.
I appreciate the info. I've spent a LOT of time in Miami and it's beautiful (most parts). Like anyone else it has it's bad neighborhoods, etc. but overall you should love it. My advice (given to me from recent law school grad friends) is to really appreciate and enjoy this acceptance, even if you don't necessarily plan on going there. They tell me that a lot of them didn't really take a minute to enjoy their first acceptances because they had larger schools in mind, etc. and then when they didn't get into those school (not saying you won't), they realized that the school they ended up going to didn't even get a moment of enjoyment after receiving acceptance. Moral of story = enjoy each and every acceptance because we never know what will happen. :p I'll be keeping an eye on your status's. Best of Luck!
Hey, we have pretty similar numbers! I just wanted to say good luck with your cycle!
Thanks, congrats to you as well! I kind of feel the same way you do about St. Thomas- I like the Miami area but I'd prefer to stay closer to home. What's your first choice school?
I was actually considering applying to UDC myself, and I did research on it and heard good things about it. I think you have a good shot- your LSAT and GPA are near/in range. If you have good softs/personal statement I don't see why they wouldn't accept you. I'm in a similar situation with New England School of Law. It's the lowest rated school in Boston and has to compete with BC, BU, Northeastern and Suffolk, but I would still be happy to go there. I'm also not interested in BigLaw and want to do public interest so I'm sure as long as you have realistic job expectations you will be fine at UDC. Good luck! I hope you hear back soon!
Hey man congrats on Widener. Which campus did you apply to and how did you hear? PS I noticed you're interested in UDC too. I visited over the summer as loved it. It's one of my top choices! Good luck!
Congrats on Widener! I got in this morning too, not a bad thing to wake up to haha. Good luck on the rest of your cycle! I'll keep an eye out, we applied to some of the same schools. Did you apply to Hofstra early action or regular decision?
I feel like it may have, because with early action you are guaranteed your decision by next week. Did they give you a status checker?
That's awesome, I hope I hear soon then. They told me I'd hear after the new year, but if they're sending out decisions, hopefully I'll hear sooner! I mean I did apply back in August. Maybe it's because I applied to Delaware, but who knows... And there's a good chance I'll be heading to UDC if I don't get into CUNY. I really liked the school/area. I'm still trying to decide between PT and FT (if I get in). Any reason you picked PT?
Ok that makes sense. I was maybe thinking about PT because rent is pretty expensive in the area and I'd maybe want to work so I wouldn't have to take on more debt. But UDC is pretty cheap, so I'm still not sure. I'll just ask about switching to PT if I get in and decide to attend.
LOL at your additional info, I agree!
Have you seen any changes to UDC's status checker? Looking at last year's applicants, I thought we'd be getting some decisions by now. They must have been swarmed with applicants.
Thanks for the info. So I should expect to hear something in a next couple of weeks. Best of luck to you!
Hey there. The Dean of admissions emailed me to let me know I had been accepted. Hope you hear from them soon.
Any news? Hopefully good...
Best of Luck
yes, I am at MU and have just started sending out applications.
