****
Acceptance from Tech in small white envelope with $6K scholarship.
****
Rejection from UH in small white envelope. Rec'd no email by decision day, so I knew it was coming.
****
Acceptance to STCL in small, thin white envelope. No mention of fin. aid.
****
Deferral from SMU via snail mail. Small, white regular envelope.
****
Acceptance from TX Wesleyan via email. Letter to follow.
****
Letter from TX Wes, 02-10-06, small fat envelope with $5K scholarship per semester if I stay in top 1/3 of class, $2K for summer term. (so basically $10K a year)
****
Rejection from Baylor in small std. envelope. They forgot to seal it. It "strongly encouraged me to consider reapplying" for Spring 2007.

Was this a formula letter? Or do they have "degrees" of rejection? I'd like to hear from other Baylor rejects...
****
Rejection from Colorado. It was expected, although it took them a freakin LONG time. Geez. I figured I'd be an auto-ding.
****
Scholarship from STCL, 2.28.06, small envelope
****
Rejection from UT, small thin envelope. That hurt even though it was expected. I can dream no longer. (postmarked 3.16.06)

****
Withdrew from Texas Wesleyan & STCL - 3.27.06

Waitlisted at SMU (5/1/06). Screw that. Sending my withdrawal tomorrow.

Thanks...

...and good luck on your app to SMU as well. A big, white envelope came in the mail, containing a dark blue folder w/the school's logo in gold on the front with and acceptance letter and a whole packet of stuff inside.

Would you mind emailing me? I have a question to ask you, and not over LSN. Thanks.

Congratulations on the TxWes acceptance. I'm sure you were sweating that one out.

Baylor

Keep in mind my admission from Baylor was for Summer 2006 so the standards were lower for admission. I doubt I would have gotten in for Fall 2006

Decisions, decisions, decisions!!!

I'm very much in the same boat as you. I really want to go to UH, but my LSAT credentials aren't high. I'm hoping my optional statement/LOR/personal statement will get me in. Also, the partners at my law firm are UH Law Alum, and they donate a lot of $$$ to the school. I wa hoping my reputation their will help me. I was wondering what you would choose, Texas Tech or South Texas? Texas Tech seems to be a better school, but the connections in downtown Houston at South Texas are much better. It is really a toss up- what would you do in your situation?

Tech vs. STCL
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm leaning toward Tech to if it comes between those two. I'm from Houston though, and people here are more favorable to STCL then Tech. The only thing that I'm am warned about Tech is that it's in a small town and your likely to get crummy internships if any at all. This will cause you to have a lower initial salary when you start practicing. BTW, are you attending the reception for the accepted students in Dallas this Friday? I'm going to try to make a trip up there. Do you mind if I ask where you went for undergrad?

TT Reception
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

Yes, I'm going too. It seems like a very small number of people from LSN have been accepted (only 9 so far) as compared to other schools. Why is that? I'm driving from Houston to go. Want to meet up?

Baylor rejection
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

You are right about the different degrees of rejection. My rejection from December just outright rejected me and wished success in my future endeavors. Then again, since I applied early, they probably thought that I would no way consider applying the following year. BTW, sorrry for the duplicate messages. I don't know why it does that.

I'll be at Tech
Sunday, October 02 2005 at 08:00 PM

this Friday. Will you be there?

I read your post on lsd. I haven't set up an account yet, so thought I'd just post on here. I visited tech a few weeks ago and looked around at apts. I didnt tour sagewood but loved the neighborhood and area. That is one of my tops, thought it was interesting you also loved it. I had called the manager there and also loved the prices. Keep me posted

Nope you didn't meet me, I did not attend. I guess there are atleast two of us from AZ.

Decision?
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

Looks like most of your decisions are in. Any decision yet? Are you pulling for SMU? I'm in the same situation as you. As far as Texas schools are concerned, it looks like Texas Tech for me, unless SMU accepts. I would really love to go to SMU. Will you be at Tech's accepted students day?

Tech Reception
Wednesday, February 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

You're right, I did meet you. It's easy to narrow it down since it seems like there were all in all like 4 or 5 prospective students there. That was fun; Matthew took me downstairs after the reception to tour his office and the rest of Locke, Liddell and Sapp. What a small world ... I remember writing you about it that week. I'm going to a similar reception like that for LSU Law in Houston tomorrow (only Houston accepted students invited.) I will see you this Saturday in Lubbock (I hope it's not too bad.)

Thanks
Wednesday, February 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'll probably be at Tech in the fall... Is that where you're leaning towards?

tech/baylor
Saturday, March 04 2006 at 07:00 PM

hey, interesting that i just got your message, because i just found out that baylor accepted me. they told me they were trying to fit me in for summer, and if not they offered me a spot in spring 07. so what were you talking about that happened w/ baylor? i hadn't heard anything about it. i RSVP'd for the reception tonight, but i was going to go apartment hunting in waco if they found me a spot for summer. but they've been so slow (obviously... orientation starts wednesday and i don't even know if i have a spot or not) in getting back to me, it's frustrating. well maybe i'll see you tonight...

There seem to be some very nice people on LSN and LSD going to Tech. Congrats!
