Attending Tennessee in the Fall...

I guess the next matter to deal with is housing. If you have any tips on the Knoxville community (where to live, which apt buildings are better etc.) your input is appreciated. I figure I will end up by myself, however if anyone is looking for a roommate holler at me. It would be nice to be able to share the expenses :)

Congrats on FSU! We applied to several of the same schools...I wish you the best of luck and maybe we will wind up at the same place!

hey!

What do you mean about Tennessee? Do they take a long time? I'm really leaning more and more toward Tennessee as one of my top choices. As much as I thought I wanted a big city I am leaning more toward a southern, modest place to practice!

I'm dominating your visitor comments! :

I looked back at last cycle, and you're right...I guess I'm checking my mailbox everyday for no reason! I really don't want to wait that long...do you think there is anything we can do to hurry the process up a little? I see they haven't accepted anyone from this board yet.

Thanks for the congrats, and congrats on your acceptance as well! Best of luck with the rest of your schools.

Regent
Wednesday, November 23 2005 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on FSU, I've applied there also. Good thing you didn't apply to Regent, if they got your application as saw you interned for Democrats they'd probably have to exorcise your application from their school.

Good luck with UT! I saw your post on LSD and looked you up.

Nice job with your acceptances

I have applied to alot of the same schools. Let me know where you end up going. GL with the rest of your apps.

Good luck

Congrants on your acceptance to UK. Hopefully since we have similiar numbers, I might get accepted as well. Keep me posted on your other applications.

Thanks
Sunday, October 30 2005 at 07:00 PM

Thanks man. I was disappointed by UK, but getting into UC was a relief. I'm still up in the air, though. Once Louisville's decision comes in, I'll have to sit down and weigh all the options. MU will lose by 30. Ha, probably not. You know how these games are. WVU is about 30 times better, but somehow it's always close. Good luck on your apps. Looks like your doing great.

What do you know, the Louisville acceptance came in the mail a little bit after I typed that last message. Did your scholarship offer come with the first letter? Or did it come later?

Hmm
Sunday, October 30 2005 at 07:00 PM

To be honest, it's too early for me to tell. I'm going to wait and see if I get any scholarship offers. WVU at $10,000 is appealing. UC is $30,000, but you can establish residency. And Louisville is $20,000, but I like the area a lot. We'll see!

awesome!

I am SO excited for you about Tennessee! I remember at the beginning of the app cycle talking about how we wouldnt hear until March...and here you are, accepted!

Congrats on UTK! I wish they would get back to me soon! I visited in September and loved it...

Baylor

Congrats on Baylor. Its good to see them dip below the 160 barrier...maybe there's hope for me afterall (your index is higher though). Congrats!

Nice comment...

on Ole Miss. Way to show a completely undeserved sense of entitlement. I hope you withdraw immediately so that someone without a serious attitude problem can get a seat there.

watch yourself!
Sunday, October 02 2005 at 08:00 PM

Kuherb32...way out of line. I second your opinion, Bhazelwood; you applied in November and deserved to hear back earlier on. I would understand it if you had marginal numbers, but you clearly do not. It doesn't matter, though, it's not one of your top 3 anyways. As your best friend on LSN :) I hope we will both wind up at UT this fall. I'm really battling with the choices I have as of late, because I am not sending in multiple seat assignments while waiting to hear back. If Pepperdine is my only out of state option (I decided PSU is not for me), its something I have to keep considering. I will definitely hold out as long as I can for UT and when we both get in, we need to go straight to the bars for a LSN victory celebration in Knoxville!

ok, scratch that...
Sunday, October 02 2005 at 08:00 PM

...I received my rejection from UT today. Maybe I can still come down to Knoxville and we can have a bar night anyways! I'm so happy for you on your decision to go there; best of luck at UT!

Hey, would you help a ORM white male out and withdraw from Ole Miss? It's my first choice and I am still waitin' to hear back. Congrats on some awesome acceptances. If you wind up at UTK -- that'll be an awesome place to spend 3 years.

Ole Miss
Monday, October 24 2005 at 08:00 PM

No offense taken.. I'm just telling everyone not going to Ole Miss to withdraw. I hate this wait, as well. But it's my first choice so I guess I have to be patient. Best of luck man.

UTK
Saturday, December 10 2005 at 07:00 PM

I haven't 100% decided on UTK, but that's what I'm leaning towards. Like you, I'm waiting on financial aid. Right now, I just know about the loans they're offering me based on FAFSA. I'll be at the admitted students day at the end of this month, and if all goes well there, that'll pretty much seal the deal for me.

I totally get what you mean about Mississippi. I am thinking the same thing about UNLV and Pittsburgh. It 's already annoying me and I applied a lot later than you did!

heck yeah man, i am tennessee all the way. it will be good to know at least one other person in the entering class. regardless of scholarship, my in state tuition deal is good enough for me.

hey there
Sunday, October 02 2005 at 08:00 PM

Yea, it looks as though right now I will be at Wayne. I don't want to say Im attending and sign on the line quite yet; I am waiting for some waitlist movement and hopefully good news from FSU. Maybe your withdrawal will help me out!

Hey, thanks for writing back. I am going to Knoxville next week to look for a house (I am buying) If I wind up buying something that is 2 units I will let you know. I am mainly looking downtonw in the older sections that have been redone. I will let you know if I see anything intersting.

Check out Knoxville place apartments. They are about 2 years old and huge. The building has a wonderful social space including an outdoors veranda. It is also fairly close to the law school and with in easy walking distance of anything on the strip.

congrats on UT
Monday, March 27 2006 at 07:00 PM

I was born in Huntington and have interned for Rahall as well. For law school I am undecided, I have some good choices, but good luck with your decision on UT...the facility kicks ass.

I'm going up next week to look for a place...like you I'm planning on living by myself. If you've already been, let me know if you found anything worthwhile--and if not, I'll let you know what I find...I'm looking mostly west of campus b/c that's where the admissions office told me most people who live outside of the downtown area live.
