Hi, I don't know anything about Duquesne, but Tech is a very solid school for the state of Texas. I would pick the school that has a more solid standing for the area/city/state you want to end up in. Do you want to stay on the East Coast?
Congrats on your acceptance!!! That's awesome!
Tech is really the only place I wanted to go. Its close to home and my family offered to help out if I stayed close. I liked the school because of the bar passage rates, the price, and the relatively low attrition rate. Where else is there to go that's only $12,000 a year? Do you have a profile on LSD? There's a really good thread about Tech and the people have been super friendly. Hope to see you there in August! Paul
Congrats on your tech acceptance, I've heard good things about the school. You should strongly consider it, it's one of my top choices so hopefully i'll get it in!!

Law School Discussion I found it while googling. On the pre-law side there is a thread (its about 48 pages long right now) that you can find by searching for Texas Tech. SuzyQ06 has a website with pictures. Let me know if I can help with anything.
thanks, good luck to you too...and i cant dislike sorority girls too much since ive dated enough of them =)
to you too, although I see you have already done quite well this cycle! Congrats
Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!
I'm an avid steelers fan, my ex boyfriend is from pittsburgh and he got me to love them! Sunday is their time to shine, I can feel it :)
It's weird how we have almost the same numbers and very similar extracurricular's, i was also greek and honors college. And I got in to miami and you got a better scholarship from ttech.
The letter comes in a small business size envelope, that's how I knew it was a rejection. Acceptances come in a large white envelope. Hope this helps. Good luck with your apps
thanks for the kind words!!good luck to you as well!!!
why is USC your #1 choice? just curious, there seems to be plenty of good schools out in the east coast... just wondering :)
do you go to pitt? do you like the city? please email me with anything you know about the law school.
emailed me to let me know they are sending my application for review. I know they only accept 1% of numbers like mine. Maybe I'm in that 1% this year.
thanks for the congrats.. yea i saw that most people with my numbers didn't get in, i guess it was a lil luck.. but good job by you with some of thos eacceptences keep it up.. let me know if you have any questions..later
Good luck to you too. I am still waiting on Miami too. Hopefully it'll swing our way. :)
it took about a month from the day i received the acceptance letter
Thanks for the note. Congrats on your Tech acceptance. GL with USC!
I see we both got deferred there. What exactly does this mean and what do you think our chances are? Is there anything we can do? Do you think a visit to the school would help?
Congrats on MERCER!! I went to Open House there and it seems like a really good school, great atmosphere!
Hey - I'm really considering both Duq. and Mercer. Duq has a really interesting clinical program in securities (and other areas) that seems pretty interesting. Mercer seems like it would be a nice place to attend; however, I'm not quite sure if I would enjoy the area. Mercer seems like a great school - just need to check it out. What is your number one? Good luck with the rest of your apps!
congratulations on mercer, i have a friend who goes to undergrad there and loves it...and i think maybe i read in their bulletin you get a free laptop?!?
hi, thanks, good luck to you too
I think macon is an ok place and atlanta is just 60 miles away everyone i know who went to mercer loved it.
my Michigan and Duke dream was so realistic and I was SOOOOOO happy in the dream and then I woke up and disapointment wallowed in my stomach.
Hi, Yes I just received the Miami acceptance on Monday. It came in regular white business envelope with housing information as well.
I just visited texas tech this week so if you have any questions feel free to email me.

Thanks for the well wishes! So you don't know where you should go? If you want to withdraw from Tech, I'm fine with that! :-) Just kidding! I was really glad to see that you got in since our numbers are kinda close. I'll let you know how the interview goes today. Have you been able to visit Tech? And congrats on the other schools!
i know what you mean. it has been about 4 months. they seem to be one of the slower schools. i called them and they said i was in committee and should hear in march, but that could still mean the end of march.
haha. I checked the mail 4 times yesterday (2/20) before I realized that it was President's Day. For me a holiday isn't a day without mail...it's lots of mail, specifically big thick envelopes. Good Luck!
Wow, you are far away. I know it's so hard to visit schools, especially when you've applied to so many. Even if you don't get to visit Tech, it's a great school. West Texas is definitely a far cry from PA, but we would welcome you with open arms! :-)
Yeah, I leaning toward Texas Tech right now. I went to their Alumni reception on Friday and I liked what I saw. I still have many decisions pending, but I would really love to go to UH since I'm from Houston. My credentials are low, but I'm hoping my soft factors will get me in.
Hi Congrats on your acceptances thus far. I am definitely considering Mercer. I went to their visitation day and loved it. I've heard that Mercer graduates are competative in the Atlanta area, not sure about elsewhere. If I had to make my decision right now I would definitely go to Mercer. Good luck with your decisions and let me know how your visit goes. Thanks.
Regarding your comment, I had to withdraw from TTU because my family is going to have to stay in state, so I can't move for law school. I didn't visit campus. There's a really good TTU thread on the LSD site. Good luck.
I was leaning pretty heavily toward TTU becuase it just seemed like a great place, and they gave me some pretty attractive scholarship funding. From what I can tell it looks like a great school.
Congratulations on Mercer. I have been emailing the head of financial aid with some of my questions, but I have not heard whether or not I received scholarships. You?
Congrats on the Mercer acceptance. I've got a friend that graduated last year. I got to check out the school and talk first hand w/ a student. It seems like a really good school. As for Baylor, top notch school. I also know a Baylor alumnus, the job offers came to him. Good luck.
@ Miami and USC but we would love to have you at Tech...
thanks! good luck to u too.
Yeah I don't think I am going there. I got into USC. It's less expensive and more practical.
Hi...I have sort of a random question about GSU vs. Mercer. If you get into georgia state, which would you choose? Thanks and good luck!
Good luck to you! Keep me posted on your success :-)
I went to undergrad at a small school near pittsburgh. I dont blame u for wanting to head down to the dirty dirty. Hope everything works out for u.
Have you been? What are your thoughts? I'm really conflicted because I visited Fayetteville and loved it.
you think about Georgia State? I am also looking at Atlanta.
just wanted to see if you have any info on when georgia state will be making their "final" decisions. I've been complete since January and my file is still "complete ready for review." Thanks and Good luck!

Thanks for the note. I hope to see you there.
Glad to hear you picked Tech. Welcome to Tejas.
Yep, I'm about 95% that I'll be at Tech also. I saw on another LSN that you have never been to Texas (I'm not stalking, I promise!)? You'll love it, but Lubbock isn't representative of Texas as a whole...other parts of Texas actually HAVE a landscape! ;-) I'll see you in the fall. When are you moving up there?
I appreciate it. I'm staring down the street waiting for the mailman today, cause I took the day off from work (I need to busy myself). I really think you'll like Texas if you end up there.
hey r u still looking for a roomate,
Yea being deffered is frustrating. I know it is better than a rejection but having to wait even longer stinks. Also, while i have not researched Texas Tech, i have done so for Duquesne. it seems like a pretty solid school IMO. I would venture a guess that both schools have good reputations near where they are located. i have not visited Duquesne but i have a friend from near the pittsburgh area and he says that the campus is nice.
