Just wanted/thought it would be helpful to put up the hourumd.com chances of my getting admitted to each of the schools to which I have applied.

Pittsburgh= 70.59%
Penn State= 100%
West Virginia= 100%
Case Western= 90%
Ohio State= 14.29%
Wisconsin= 11.11%
Villanova= 52.63%
Illinois= 7.14%
Iowa= 28.57%
Indiana= 0.00%
Connecticut= 7.69%
Washington and Lee= 20%

And Law School Predictor
Pittsburgh= Consider (50%)
Penn State= Consider (48%)
West Virginia= Admit (76%)
Case Western= Consider (55%)
Ohio State= Weak Consider (26%)
Wisconsin= Consider (42%)
Villanova= Consider (40%)
Illinois= Weak Consider (28%)
Iowa= Weak Consider (29%)
Indiana= Consider (39%)
Connecticut= Consider (44%)
Washington and Lee= Weak Consider (26%)

It looks like from this list that I wont be getting in many other places, but that is understandable. I am just hoping for the best.

Additional info & updates

My LSDAS GPA would be around a 3.670 if we exclude my one bad semester. I will obviously be writing an addendum.

I will also be retaking the LSAT in October.

9/17: I submitted my ED application to Pittsburgh. I still have not gone complete as my transcripts haven't officially arrived yet nor have my recommendations. I am REALLY hoping to get into my FIRST choice!

9/22: Went to the Vanderbilt Law School Fair...got to talk to Penn State, Case Western, and Ohio State. It was informative at least.

9/25: I am LSAC complete for Pittsburgh. Although two of my three LOR are not in yet. Hopefully they get those in soon and I can begin the helplessly anxious waiting period.

9/26: LSAC completed for WVU. I still need my other two LOR to be turned in to really be "complete" but I am hoping those LOR are in by Oct 1st.

9/26: Completed the Ohio State application. Similarly to my other applications, obviously, I am still waiting for the last two LOR.

So I am really experiencing the "inferiority complex" that is brought about through this process...very nerve wracking!

9/27: Case Western Reserve...LSAC completed. Still those two LOR outstanding.

I have recently thought about throwing out an early app to UVA, even though the LSAT is way low compared to their averages...it may be worth it, but if I do not do it in a couple days it would be pointless.

9/27: OSU Status Checker received

10/04: Case Western Status Checker received--I think LSAC screwed up my case western app...they sent a recommendation that I did not assign to Case. Hmm...

10/16: I had a great weekend as I went to Pittsburgh and met with faculty and members of the admissions staff. It went well and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Pittsburgh.

10/25: Under Review at Penn State. Who knows how long that will take.

11/05: I have been very sick lately so I haven't had a chance to get on here...I am now Under Review at Case Western as well.

11/11: IN AT PENN STATE...via email. This is the first acceptance of the year for me so I am, obviously, extremely excited! We'll see what aid they offer and everything when all the information comes!

11/15: Complete at Villanova...considering applying to Iowa and U. of Illinois UC.

11/16: Today I submitted some reach applications= Washington and Lee, Illinois...and also submitted an application to UConn. Hopefully I will be able to get some more work done and apply to Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin by the end of the week.

11/16: Ohio State complete and in review

12/01: I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving...mine was stressful...I hate waiting for decisions! I am now, officially, in review at some other schools--Washington and Lee...and soon PITTSBURGH. No new decisions which sucks right now. Hopefully new info soon!

12/02: I am now officially in review at Pittsburgh...I also wrote an LSAT addendum today as well.

12/02: WAITLISTED at Washington and Lee. I sent an LSAT addendum today, but I doubt it was even a factor in my decision.

12/07: ECSTATIC! IN AT PITTSBURGH...ED, done!!!

12/08: In at West Virginia via status checker.

12/17: ACCEPTED AT CASE WESTERN! NICE!!!

Hey! I actually don't have a top choice. I'm just kind of waiting it out, seeing where I get in and who gives me scholarship. As of right now though, I really like ND, GWU and Pitt. I saw you're EDing to Pitt, did you apply yet?

I think your numbers are good enough if you apply ED and get your app in before Halloween.

Good luck!

You've got a great shot at Pitt. Here's hoping for a great (and relatively painless) cycle!

Thanks

Thank you gatorlion. I really hope I do get in.

I actually got a status checker email on 9/8, which was the day after I applied. I have gotten all other information via the link, which is how I found out I had gone complete. Hopefully you have an email on the way with your link.

Nope, no status checker for me. I got an email from them and was expecting to be given a link but no such luck. The email did say, however, that I would receive notification once I was under review. Good luck with your LSAT retake and the rest of your cycle! I'm sure you'll get into Pitt!

No problem. Yeah I have found that the LSAC completed apps section really doesn't mean much as far as the schools are concerned. They say completed pretty soon after you submit the app, but I can't imagine the school actually goes through it that quickly.

Good Luck at Pitt!

I'm an undergrad if you have any questions. Pittsburgh is a great city!

Err...

I meant good luck with Pitt's ED cycle. I'm not trying to jinx anything, lol.

It Pitt your top choice? For me it is between Case and Pitt. Best of luck.

Congrats

Hey, nice work on the Penn State acceptance! Isn't it great to know no matter what, you're going to law school somewhere? Good luck with the rest!

Friday, November 05 2010 at 08:00 PM

I am not sure where I am going yet - depends on where I get in and scholarships. UMKC is looking attractive as I like their academic environment. We have fairly similar numbers. Best of luck to you!

Hey

Hey Hey. We have similar numbers and schools so I thought I would say hello to a fellow Philosophy major :). Congrats on penn state! All this waiting is also killing me. Good luck on the rest of your cycle!

Hey

I feel like I have been following you around on TLS! We're only applying two of the same schools but I feel like I see your name everywhere! Here's to hoping we both hear from Case and W&L soon :)

I am not sure yet. I still have some apps pending, and ultimately it will come down to money, and trying to spend the least for the most

SLU v. Case
Saturday, May 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

So I see that you've already decided to attend Pitt, but in case you or someone you know still wanted the SLU v. Case info, I thought I'd respond. My general comments about SLU: -SLU had 2 small section classes, instead of just 1 small class. -SLU is team/group oriented. SLU seems to support studying in groups, discussing class cases with each other, etc. -SLU was #1...Case was #4 (now #3 I believe). The rank wasn't extremely important; however, two of the three professors who wrote the textbook that most schools use for their Intro to Health Law course teach at SLU. I -Case was nice, but Cleveland was horrible. I couldn't really imagine living there for 3 years. It is kind of 1970s...and everything seems run-down. -Also, I was sold by the JD/PhD program. I am currently applying for the PhD portion, and I really hope that I am accepted into it! I'm not sure who your "friend" is, but recently I've spoken with Dr. Bishop and Dr. Bustillos, and both seem very nice! Best of luck with law school, and if you need any other info...or if you have any general law school questions, feel free to email me. I would gladly answer any questions you might have! Well thats probably a good amount for nowIf you have any other specific questions, feel free to askjust thought Id give an overview.

No offense, but how did you make WL at Washington and Lee? I have similar numbers, and I didn't even consider that school. Also, since your from PA, why not take a shot at Temple?

Saturday, November 20 2010 at 07:00 PM

Hey, I got into Pitt and will be attending. It took awhile, but I am excited! See you in the fall!
