Additional info & updates

06-01-10: And so, with a new month arriving, a new blog is forming. Also with this new month comes new stesses, new anxieties, and new dreams that chances are will be slowly crushed into a fine grain and sold to confused tourists. Along with the LSAT on the 7th, I also have an College Jeopardy audition this Sunday in Raleigh. The things I do for trivia...

06-04-10: Okay....next three days are going to be ridiculous.

06-09-10: Ouch....

06-22-10: Well, well, well. Wasn't that just pleasant?

06-27-10: This gigantic list of schools is there for me to look at ones I am researching. Doubt I'll apply to all of them unless there is a fee waiving frenzy.

7-24-10: Decided to scare myself by continuously reading sites such as firsttiertoilet.com and butidideverything right. Fascinating viewpoints regarding law and the economy. Scares you straight. Nevertheless, I will persevere.

I have decided to use this section to comment on one of my favorite things in life. Movies. Specifically, movie trailers. One of the many oddjobs I do is record movie trailers for a market research company. Little notes on some of the ones I see often.

The Town- Think The Departed, but now its Ben's turn. Despite the similar settings and it being a cop/robber thriller, it actually looks interesting. Considering Affleck's success behind the camera recently, it should be interesting. Possible oscar contender?

Devil- This trailer has overtaken Robin Hood for worst trailer of the year. Robin hurt my eyes every time I had to watch it. I had to watch it a lot. But this one hurts all of my senses. They should not be promoting M. Night's name. Ever. Not after the Last Airbender. It removes any interest I could have. Also, the girl's screams are ridiculously annoying. If they replaced it with the Wilhelm Scream, maybe I'll change my mind.

The American- Can't tell too much from the trailer. Can't say if Im interested or not, though Clooney doesn't let me down that often.

The Other Guys- Despite the fact that I know this will not be too good of a movie, the trailer has its moments. Ferrell's act is getting old. In fact I'm sure it died a while ago. However, seeing this act in small doses is what works best for him. Its why he was so great in SNL. Seeing a whole movie of it? I think not.

08-03: I started the Duke application today, but still need to perfect that blasted personal statement/potential diversity statement. And by perfect, I mean start. Also going to wait for more fee waivers. Didn't earn enough at the casinos to balance them out. A few trailers:

Rango- Its not coming out until March, so they could change the entire concept of the movie and it wouldn't surprise me. The first half of the trailer grabbed my attention, mostly because I imagined the lizard folk from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas whenever I heard Depp as the lizard. The owls were annoying

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of GaHOOle: Dear God I'm getting tired of this trailer. I've had to deal with this one since March of April. Visually nice, catchy song, interesting concept, never read the books. For audiences though, Penguins>Owls, so be aware of that.

Morning Glory- Not my type of movie based on the trailer. Just a personal preference. Could end up seeing it. Seems like a typical reform the cranky old man while improving one's self. Harrison has that irritated old man thing down. Also Goldblum and Paatrick Wilson help its cause.

More to Come!

08-08: So I was cast as an extra (jury member) in a small horror film called the Toy Box. I picked up on several flaws, the most egregious being the fact that there were 4 separate trials being filmed, yet only one jury throughout the movie. We changed shirts to solve this. This will probably not be a good movie hah. Also, its "Leading the witness", not "Misleading the witness". Telltale signs of poor research. Still, fun experience.

09-28: Waiting for one more little LOR. Upon its entrance to LSAC, I will be submitting pretty much all of my applications except for NYU, which needs a bit more polishing for the essays.

10-10-10: Aaahh this is so much fun. Now we wait. Watch for me sometime next month on jeopardy.

10-26-10: Got a nice message informing me of my admittance to UT-Austin Law. Sweetness. Also, Trebeck is the epitome of debonair.

10-28-10: College Jeopardy 11-8-10 to 11-19-10. Watch it!

11-14-10: I'm on jeopardy again tomorrow, so enjoy my good looks again. Also, G-town accepted me some time ago, found the letter waiting when I got back from my trip. Fantastic

11-18-10: Just got my acceptance to Vandy in an oversized FedEx package. Very high on my list, despite the number next to it. Sweetness

12-20-10: WL'd by Penn via email. No problem with me. Still grateful for the opportunities I have right now. We shall see what lies ahead.

1-10-11: WL'd at Chi and held by Harvard. Just gotta keep that rejection number at 0 and I'm good.

1-28-11: Held at NW and Michigan.

3-7-11: Jesus. I think my cycle is done.
