Yes, Arkansas did request my report before accepting me. Good luck, and if you have any other Arkansas questions, feel free to get ahold of me.

Arkansas Index

They didn't tell me, but their instruction set on LSAC said that it is 205, which is what it has been for at least a year or two now . My actual index is a little above that, but not by much.

Do you attend somewhere East or West of the Rockies? North or South of Denver? I'm East and South, myself.

Thanks for the comment. Congrats on your acceptances so far. I'm rooting for your top choices! If all else fails, Florida Coastal is cool - we get to enjoy the sunny warm weather.

Complete?
Saturday, June 04 2005 at 08:00 PM

How do you define "complete"? I got an e-mail from GU telling me that they are requesting my report, but it didn't sound to me like they were considering it complete. What did they tell you?

Best of luck to you too! And congrats on the acceptances thus far. I hope I can get into at least one, otherwise it's going to be a long two years off of school, haha. I'll keep an eye on your progress.

Congrats

I've actually been pretty surprised with how well I've done as well. I guess a mid-150s LSAT wasn't as crippling as I thought it would be, thankfully. I wish I could say that a rematch would make a difference, but it won't, we're really bad this year (like usual). One day we'll have some legitimate teams, one day... Go Grizzlies (might as well pull for the winners)! Denver seems like a really great school (sans a lack of football). I have a friend that started law school up there this year and he really likes it. My only real concern with them is the cost, same as Miami. Without any cash, I don't think I can justify going to either of them over most of the other places I've made it into. Plus I'm thinking I want to head down to the South for at least a few years, get away from this "Winter" crap. ;) I see Texas Tech gave you the early seat deposit crap. That's why I withdrew as quickly as I did. They wanted my seat deposit about 3 weeks after they accepted me. I understand the yield-protection reasoning for doing it, but it still seems like a shitty thing to do. So where are you thinking about?

congrats

what does your denver status say? how were u notified?

TTU
Monday, August 27 2007 at 08:00 PM

So you were placed on the active consideration list a week ago, and have already received an acceptance? I was placed on the active consideration list also, and that is a relief to know that they won't be waiting until summer to start admitting those on the list. What are your thoughts on Tech?

TT, the SEC, and Utah
Sunday, July 08 2007 at 08:00 PM

I thought exactly the same way about Texas Tech. I was kind of excited when I got in, and I might have even went if they didn't force my decision, but I just couldn't commit when I still had about 10 apps out there. I hear you on applying to bigger schools because of your UG school. I want a nice, big school that feels like a "real" university with 1A football (SEC would be nice...) and school spirit and whatnot. Basically, I kind of want to go to a school that people won't confuse with 3 other places when I tell them where I go (went), like what happens now. And no one is happy in Utah... ;)

Congrats

Wow, congrats on Tech! That's super exciting!

question for you
Saturday, November 10 2007 at 07:00 PM

Where did you find the LSAC % chance of your acceptance into schools?

Hastings
Sunday, July 08 2007 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on Hastings. Does that mix things up a bit? Also, I think it puts getting bounced around by Arkansas and WV into perspective.

So far, so good
Wednesday, December 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

Wow Hastings! That's huge! I would definately be going there if I got in. Congrats man. Lemme know what you decide to do.

Hastings
Wednesday, December 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

Although the investment is painful now, I think that in the long run UC Hastings will benefit you. Granted, it may take 5 years to pay off. Yeah, I'll definitely send that letter of continued interest. Although I'm not too optimistic since I'm up against so many other waitlisters with superior numbers. On the other hand, I'm one of two waitlisted on this sight from California. Maybe geographical diversity? We shall see.

Opinion on UCH
Monday, October 22 2007 at 08:00 PM

Go to Hastings! It's the best school you got into. I hope you got fee waivers, because you applied to a lot of random back ups that you dont need to go to.

Congrats
Wednesday, February 20 2008 at 07:00 PM

On Hastings. Something is wrong in the world when West Virginia Law defers you and Hastings lets you in. I'd say unless you get into another higher ranked tier one or one that offers you money, go to Hastings. If you have a job already lined up and can't take out loans, then maybe consider the others. Again, congrats on Hastings.

Stuff
Wednesday, December 05 2007 at 07:00 PM

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I really can't tell you much about Hastings and the SF area. I would definitely recommend checking it out before you make your 100k decision. It's a different culture there (though I recognize you've been before). I sent my LOCI to American, and talked to someone live as well (the dual degree program coordinator). I'm praying that I get in. We'll see. I'm not sure if there's really much more I can do, though I may try and get in direct contact with someone that makes the decisions. I better be on point in that convo, haha.

FSU
Sunday, July 08 2007 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the congrats, I'm really looking forward to FSU. Are you any closer to ultimately deciding on Hastings?

LSU/Hastings/Creighton
Sunday, July 08 2007 at 08:00 PM

First, thanks again for the congrats. On LSU v. Hastings, I have to say, I find your decision making process here to be refreshingly prudent for someone looking at law schools. Unlike most people, you have the good common sense to look at what is best for you. I applaud that. Personally, I would probably take LSU over Hastings. As you point out, LSU is much cheaper and part of a large university (in the SEC, no less). Additionally, I would much rather live in Louisiana. California is ok, but it's not really my cup of tea. On BIGLAW, the only real reason that I would want to do it for any amount of time is to pay down my debts. I wouldn't be too bothered by not being able to get BIGLAW unless I had $150k+ in debt. I really do believe that a lack of debt (or a reduced amount) opens up more doors than it closes. As for Creighton, well, if you like Nebraska... ;) Whatever decision you make, I don't think that you can go wrong, but LSU certainly has its merits. Suffice to say, I think you currently have one of the best problems a person could hope for.
