Visitor Comments
Thanks for the comments on my page. I haven't visited Boulder yet, but have heard nothing but great things about it. Once I hear from all the schools I applied to, then I think I will narrow it down to a few an go visit those. As of now, Colorado would probably be on that list. Is that your 1st choice?
Marquette has a good emplyment rate and is pretty well respected especially in the midwest. with numbers like that you have a good chance of getting some $ there as well. Good luck
Thanx for the comment but like I wrote in my Additional Info it seems like if you want to get accepted to Penn you have to write the "Why Penn?" essay. Its really not a big deal it was always my backup school. Thanx anyway.
honestly? my little cousin is going there in the fall on a full ride. she needs her space. plus, the look on her face when i told her i was applying and we could live together was horrific. damn, i thought she loved me. also, i want to do ip. i just think chicago is the better career move. i have left some room for case western and a few others but they are extreme long shots. what don't you do? ha. seriously, good luck with the apps and in the future try to stay out of your client's locker-room.
thanks for the info on montana. do you know if it's common for grads from um law to sit for the bar in washington too? also, last year i noticed they only took 80 something students. do you know why the class size is so small? you have good stats and should do well with your schools.
I would be glad to tell you about my visit to IU. Please send an e-mail and I'll respond.
funny story. now if how i do in bowling directly relates to my chance of getting into grad school, i have no worries...if only it were that easy. good luck with everything
Congratulations on IU! I sent a review of my visit to your e-mail.
I would have preferred CU to DU if I hadn't gone to CU for undergrad (plus, my grades suck by CU standards). Also, I live and work in Denver now...and I would have to give up my house and job to make the move to Boulder. There isn't enough difference in the schools (to me) to go through the effort of the move. However, if I were trying to get to Colorado from out of state, I would choose Boulder in a heartbeat. I also think a degree from CU carries more weight outside of Colorado.
I understand that FCSL is 4th tier but wouldn't they qualify as a candidate for "sports law"? kind of like Stetson for Trial Advocacy. I wonder what schools would be good for sports agent wannabes?
They offered me the same $ package. From what I understand, it isn't to hard to apply for instate tuition for 2-3L, and at the moment, thats 8900/yr.
That is a great offer from Indiana. I am curious to see if you will accept the offer. Did you ever get the review I sent via e-mail?
What is going on with Missoula? They have rejected some good numbers and deferred contretemps who had rejection numbers. What is the buzz up there?
I chose IU because their campus is awesome; it is close to home, but not too close; they have a couple of unique clinics that I'm interested in; and I don't know where I want to end up working, but I'm sure it will be either Louisville, Indianapolis, or Chicago (and Indiana places well in all three). Not to mention I got 8.5K a year there.... good luck picking a school...
Cuz I'm paying for it all myself. W/O a scholarship, it's not worth it to me. Just visited IU today. It was pretty impressive. Congrats on all the $
I got waitlisted too which I find is freakin hilarious. We were both auto-admits. Whatever, we'll both be going to much better schools. Congrats on all your acceptances and your big time scholarships!
How could you get such an amazing scholarship from CU with those numbers?
Thanks HTH. I didn't reply because I thought the question sounded sort of snotty. "Those numbers"
It cut off the rest of my response. Anyways, I think my numbers are pretty decent. And yes, being from Montana totally helps. As does the fact that I had an uncle go to law school there that currently owns a firm in Boulder.
I am starting to get waitlisted at some of my top choice schools, so I will likely choose from my current set of schools. Indiana is still very high on my list. They wanted a decision by April 1, but I got an extension to the 15th. Are you still considering IU? I am struggling to make a final decision. I paid a first deposit at W&L, but the full-tuition scholarship at Indiana seems too good to refuse. I change my mind several times a day. Minnesota is high on my list, but my scholarship offer has a high gpa requirement and I'll have to decline if they decide not to lower it. Congratulations on your scholarship offers. You are having a great cycle and it looks like you have a shot at GULC and maybe Columbia.
My life is on hold waiting for this Missoula rejection. But... they did tell people that they would hear by the 15th of April. (Coastal's deposit is due that day along with my taxes)
Sorry about sounding snotty. I didn't mean that you had bad numbers (mine are almost the same). I am not terribly surprised that you got into Colorado, I was just wondering how you got such an awesome scholarship. Well, congrats about all your acceptances and hopefully you'll withdraw from Colorado and they will put me in your spot.
I got my rejection on the 14th. I am relieved that I didn't have to choose between the two schools but I still hate any type of rejection.
Are you still considering?
go to IU. milwaukee aint that great
"there's just something about Marquette that appeals to me. I'm not really sure why." could it be the bar exam waiver? ;-)
you didn't know? if you graduate from the u of wisc or marquette you don't have to take the wisconsin bar exam!
i'm just wondering why you chose marquette over indiana. knowing that you don't plan to practice in wisconsin i really think that indiana will be the better move. i think bloomington has a low cost of living so that scholly real goes a long way.
Hey, I'm new to LSN and I just visited Marquette today. Everyone there was very helpful and informative. Out of my acceptances, I think I am leaning towards MU. What area were you thinking of living in in Milwaukee? IS there a place law students traditionally go?
White Sox it is! My ultimate fav. team
wow didn't realize that LSN writes that "can't follow directions" title as a title if you don't include one. Really annoying....HA
can you fill me in about what marquette and the area is like? im hoping i can visit it if i get the chance. thanks.
I am starting to get pretty anxious. I am planning on doubling up and getting my MBA in Sports Administration as well. What do you want to do with Sports Law? See you at orientation.
I am not positive either. I have seriously considered becoming a sports agent. But honestly I am also open to suggestion. Corporate and finance law seems intersting. I also know I don't want anything to do with criminal law. I saw my schedule for the first time today. Pretty exciting.
to see that I am not the only maniac who checks this stupid site every day. It sounds like we have ridiculously similar outlooks on this whole process. That should make for an interesting fall. To see your schedule just sign into checkmarq and go to view schedule (I believe). It is right there. When you get it shoot me an email or let me know and I'll shoot you mine.
got your message -- thanks for the input...much appreciated. it's funny, being from milwaukee, I prob discount their rep more than I should...so I appreciate your feedback as an unbiased person!
thanks so much!! welcome to milwaukee... it's a great city.
That was me! It was a joke! HAHAHA. Just kidding, but you better ask you freinds if they're screwing you. Sounds kind of fishy.
