Nope, I'm not planning on apply to anymore. The only one that is close enough to my house is IUPUI. I have 2 small kids, a great job and a hubby with an even better job so leaving is not an option. It was a last minute decision to apply and i'm gonna retake the LSAT if i dont get in this time around. I took it cold and will study next time around.

Hey, sir. I decided not to attend the open house today. I'd like to speak with someone from admissions one on one and have him/her show me around. Gives me a chance to ask any questions I might have. Been getting e-mails from schools saying that my file is complete and I can check the online status, for those that have it. This is exciting! I hope I get in somewhere. And you too!

Yeah, I'll try to make time to visit the school. I've been there twice. Took my first LSAT over there last June. The other time was a couple of years ago. I was in a paralegal program and we used the school's library. Let's just keep praying that someone will take us.

I wanted to wish you good luck with the rest of your cycle.I was also curious about something you said on your profile (talking about academic dismissal): "It happens....especially at the 4 tier schools." Do more people have trouble maintaining a GPA above the required minimum at T-4 schools?

TAKE MY ADVICE, AND DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THESE LAW SCHOOLS YOU ARE APPLYING TO. I APPLIED TO LAW SCHOOL JUST LIKE YOU DID, BUT SEVERAL YEARS AGO. I WOUND UP ATTENDING ONE OF THE LAW SCHOOLS THAT THIS APPLICANT HERE IS APPLYING TO. ALL THESE LOWER RANKED SCHOOLS ARE THE SAME--BAD FOR YOUR CAREER. THERE ARE TOO MANY LAWYERS AND TOO LITTLE WORK FOR THEM TO DO. MOST GRADUATES OF TIER 2, TIER 3 AND TIER 4 SCHOOLS HAVE TO GO FIND WORK IN ANOTHER FIELD IF THEY WANT TO MAKE A LIVING. AND EVEN IF YOU DO FIND A JOB, IT WILL PROBABLY PAY ABOUT $30k. NOT REALLY ENOUGH TO LIVE ON AND MAKE PAYMENTS ON THAT $100K IN STUDENT LOANS. DON'T DO IT. JUST DON'T DO IT. IT IS A BAD IDEA UNLESS YOU CAN GO TO A TOP RANKED SCHOOL. GO TOP 25 OR DO NOT GO AT ALL!

Heard anything from IUPUI? We got our apps in around same time and have similiar scores.

Good job on the hold for North Dakota. Lewis & Clark put me on hold as well. They will let me know their decision late April/early May.

I see you got the letter from Thomas Jefferson too. Well, 12 more schools to go. Looks like Whittier will let me know really soon. Keep me updated, sir! P.S. Phoenix seems to be taking forever!

Thank you for explaining that to me. I didn't realize they did that, but I guess that explains how they do so well on the 1st time bar passage. I checked the two schools that I'm probably going to go to and they aren't quite that bad. However, it makes me a little nervous about the required GPA to keep my scholarships, but I'm only required to maintain a 3.0 for two and a 2.8 for Barry. Anyway, thank you, and good luck with the rest of the cycle.

Good Luck! I am very grateful that you have kept up on your status here. I enjoy reading the updates. I have not heard from IUPUI yet. I noticed 2 other people have been waitlisted that sent their application the same time as i did. At least they have not outright rejected me...yet!!LOL

I have no idea how I got a decision so soon. I just wish they all were that quick!

Hey my friend. I actually e-mailed Phoenix maybe 30 minutes about my application. Go figure. Haha! If they already made a decision regarding your app, then yes, they're probably done/almost done with mine. These rejections so far are kinda like a low blow. Ouch. A few suggested TSU, but I'm done with apps this cycle. And where is Southern again? It's not in Alabama, is it? If you don't get in, *knocks on wood* will you retake the LSAT?

Try Nashville school of law. They are not ABA Accredited but you can practice in Tennessee.

My first choice would be Phoenix since I own a house here and have a kid in school here. Much better if I don't have to relocate the family. Although if Pepperdine said yes for some reason I would go there for sure.

I loved your response to squirejons on 2/15. It sounds like you have a plan and, more importantly, a strong desire to make it happen. I have been a paralegal for the last 10 years. None of the firms/companies I've worked for even visit schools that aren't in the top teir. I've seen more first year associates that graduate at the top 10% of their class that don't have the sense God gave a paperclip. Stay encouraged, and I wish you the very best!

I am finally in review at IUPUI. I checked my status checker this morning and nothing. But this afternoon it changed to "in review".

Maybe FAMU is trying to increase their LSAT median. Do not worry my friend. When does Idaho examine the waitlist?

I wish you nothing but the best in the process. I am still going through mine and pretty discouraged how it's turned out so far but reading your updates actually give me a lot of hope and determination to keep going, so thank you! I think for Florida A&M I would definitely think they are trying to get their medians up b/c they were up for site review in February and are getting really serious about reaching full accredition, in the end it's all about the rank, numbers, rating, accreditation.

Waitlisted at Univ of Utah....aggggh....This is stressful my friend.

I'm surprised at the rejection from FAMU. Personally, I think you should have been waitlisted too. It's their loss, my friend. I hope the other schools yield positive results for you.

Phoenix actually recommended to me in their waitlist letter to take the LSAT again, I actually took it February and unfortunately scored the same. Another thing, I am actually graduating with my master's in May, and finishing up final papers and projects, I know I wouldn't be able to put my best foot forward for the June test and I don't want that test administration to go waste given that I have taken the test 5x already and using my final time for this 2 year period in case I don't get in anywhere and reapply for the Fall 2010 cycle.

I am shocked about Central. What is going this year? Agggh...the economy is increasing apps. How are you doing? Are you shocked about Central? I think that you would have gotten in there last year man.

Do you really want to go there? I know the weather is kicking butt up there. WELL..."The Dream" is over for me, for now.... "Sigh"...All I can say is that my pursuit to attend law school is over...the LSAT standard was definitely my weakness...Loyola and Southwestern were my 1st and 2nd choices, however it was too difficult to get in at this time (their LSAT standards for this admissions cycle are a b*tch!!!). Besides, I'm 40 yrs. old and maybe it's not the right time in my life to take on $100K in student loan debt. Yes, I know U of Laverne and Western State are still out there, but both law schools are too far away to drive to. I'm going to pursue my Master's Degree and in two years, maybe the admissions standards will soften up... Damn it (using Jack Bauer voice)! I really wanted this!!! Goodbye J.D....hello MBA or MPA, lol!!! I wish everyone the best...

Hey there, my friend. Well, I don't think I'm going to reapply anytime soon. My GPA and LSAT combo was pretty laughable anyway. I also have a feeling my personal statement was less than convincing. That's just my opinion though. =) As much as I'd like to get another degree, it's not an absolute must for me. I might try venturing outside of the legal field. If I get a paralegal job, that's fine. I'd just like to find time to learn a new skill. Anyway, I hope Idaho works out for you. You'll do great!
