waivers

hey, list your fee waivers if you would. it's fun to know. you can add that information by clicking the plus sign next to the school. also, congrats on baylor and ave maria.

thanks for the tip, fee waivers are up

re: withdrawals

Thanks ChicagoGirl. As soon as all the acceptances and scholarship offers are in, I'll be able to make a final decision. As soon as I am positive that I will not attend a certain school, I will let them know to free up space.

Iowa Scholarship
Saturday, September 10 2005 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the full tuition scholarships. Are you in-state at Iowa?

re: Iowa

Thanks, Pmass. i'm not an Iowa resident.

I have no idea, only that you have to have your FASFA and USD financial aid application in first. I am going there next week, so if I find anything out from the financial aid office I will let you know. Is that one of your top choices?

iowa
Monday, August 29 2005 at 08:00 PM

what kinds of stuff did you want to know about iowa? i go here for undergrad and have actually taken a couple of classes from the law school so i could probably help you out. in contrast to the ave maria post, iowa city is a liberal town, so depending on your political leanings, this could be a good or bad thing...

:-) Thanks!

Thanks! Same to you... And yes, they offered 27K with the Dean's Scholarship... I'm currently at Seattle University.

yeah...
Sunday, December 04 2005 at 07:00 PM

It would be hard to turn down, but it's also a more expensive school. The four I've been accepted at have all offered comparable scholarships, right around 90% of tuition. :-) But I agree... I love the pictures of Pepp. I havn't visited any of the schools yet, I'm considering doing it over spring break (once I have a better idea of my responses). :-) We'll see...

USD sent me a financial aid packet sometime during the first week in January I think..

Hey man, Congrats on the acceptances so far!! Right now I am DEFINITLY leaning towards Georgetown. I just got back from their student reception and I was completely taken back with the school. In all likelyhood, it's where I'll be attending next year. What about you? You have some awesome choices! Let me know.

Gtown
Thursday, September 08 2005 at 08:00 PM

Sorry to hear about Gtown man.. but I think, given your wants, you should be perfectly fine. I think USC is a lock for you! Good luck.

Favorite?
Wednesday, September 07 2005 at 08:00 PM

Nice list of acceptances! We have a lot of the same schools that we applied to (not surprising considering we both applied to a million schools). What are you favorites right now, and why? I am going to have to make some similar comparisons that you are, so I am curious on your thoughts.

My trip was great, I took the "official" tour of the law school which was given by a third-year and was really informative. If I get a scholarship I am going to go there, if not, I am going to go to UT. The lady in financial aid said that applicants who applied early (before January) haven't been considered for scholarships yet and should hear back in the next month or so. Have you been able to visit yet?

me
Sunday, November 13 2005 at 07:00 PM

i'm narrowing. unless any of my apps pending or deferrals pull through, it'll likely be between OU, SMU, and W&L, although hastings and GMU are options. you're having an impressive cycle. are you narrowing?

Ave Mari
Sunday, January 15 2006 at 07:00 PM

Hey can you tell me what exactly did your full ride at Ave Maria entail?

RE: ND
Thursday, October 20 2005 at 08:00 PM

Well, it's cold in South Bend, that's a negative for me. There's not a ton to do in South Bend, either (although I'm married and slightly older so it's not a huge concern for me). The building is old but classic and isn't run down or anything. They place fairly well across the country and the alumni network is extremely tight. All in all, a very positive experience.

Monday, November 28 2005 at 07:00 PM

I still haven't heard from USD, have you? Is it still one of your top choices?

Good luck
Monday, November 28 2005 at 07:00 PM

Even though USD is my top choice too I'm not going there without a scholarship either. I'm going to visit Cal Western in two weeks at their expense, so if I don't get a scholarship to USD, I might end up there (my fiance lives in San Diego). Good luck!

USD award letter
Monday, November 28 2005 at 07:00 PM

I got my award letter today with no mention of scholarships either, and I also think that it is weird that we haven't been offered ANYTHING, given the numbers of some of the other applicants that have been awarded $. What are you going to do now? Are you going to send them anything, or are you going to go somewhere else?

SMU sumners
Sunday, November 13 2005 at 07:00 PM

i didn't get the invite. did it come by email? but congrats! i hope you kill! i guess this means i didn't land an interview. sucks.

thanks
Sunday, November 13 2005 at 07:00 PM

i appreciate the heads up. i'm disappointed, but i was a long shot anyway. it makes the decision making process a bit worse. i'd say it's now neck and neck SMU/OU...

Finally...
Wednesday, March 08 2006 at 07:00 PM

I'm so glad to see someone else who applied to a ton of schools and is taking their time weighing their options. I've just now started to withdraw from the 8/29 of been accepted to...i feel guilty about the time it's taken me, but with a 163 I just have no idea how i'll do at other schools so I need to be careful...i'm sure you can relate! Also, it looks like we got the same deal for William & Mary...Graduate scholarship? Let me know if you end up considering W&M or W&L b/c those are the two I'm stuck on right now! Best ~swoggles

Congrats on ND
Saturday, September 10 2005 at 08:00 PM

Hey gibros, congratulations on the full ride to Notre Dame. I'll probably be heading to Washington and Lee. I was really impressed with the place when I visited.

Congrats
Monday, November 28 2005 at 07:00 PM

Congratulations on Notre Dame! I finally got a scholarship to USD so I have it narrowed to USD and UT. Good luck!

Thanks for the message . . .
Saturday, September 10 2005 at 08:00 PM

Best of luck to you too and I will definitely be picking up that book.

unless duke or vandy want to perform a small miracle, i will be heading to south bend this fall. (probably) see you there - keep in touch

Re: ND
Monday, February 13 2006 at 07:00 PM

ND looked really good to me when I visited last month, but I don't know if I can deal with the small town thing... but ND is definitely still in the mix. ND vs. BC... who knows? It's a tough decision.

I think...

did you visit nd? i didn't get a chance... if so, what did you think?
