Our numbers are very close, with you being at a slight advantage. Best of luck and congrats on your achievements thus far.
Were your FW merit-based from LSAC? Reply on my LSN or PM on LSD (same name) if you want.
Well I used the presumption that yours were merit-based waivers to land a few waivers of my own :D I go to a top 5 public school, have a lot of leadership experience and am a web programmer (I want to do cyberlaw), so I think I have decent ECs. Good luck too! I think we'll be riding some waitlists.
Do you expect your GPA to be higher after this semester (assuming you're a senior)? I'm hoping to have mine bump up to 3.43...which I hope at least would help cement the grade trend I've had over the second half of my time. I just found out that I went complete at Cornell. I'm kind of disappointed all schools don't tell you when you're complete by email...it makes me nervous. Hopefully we both start getting some decisions soon- good luck!
Best of luck to ya!
Congrats! Hopefully this is the first of many...each time you're accepted it will give me hope haha
And congrats on your first acceptance! First of many, I'd bet. Especially with such a strong upward trend and a great LSAT, you really shouldn't sell yourself short. That I could get into a T14 is evidence that even the top schools consider the whole app beyond just numbers.
and to the first of many :)
Your comments were disabled for a while there. Yes, I'm very nervous/anxious! Congrats on Minnesota btw! You think you may go? :)
on the Minnesota acceptance. Columbia was very much expected, but I'd love to hear from Cornell sometime soon.

Yeah, I did get the graduate fellowship. I was excited about the scholarship when I first saw it. It does sounds worse when you think of it is just waiving the out-of-state fee but it's still a nice chunk of change. I actually don't know too much about W&M. It seems really nice from what I can tell but I feel like all schools are like that before you actually visit. I just put down the yearly total instead of multiplying. Like you said, just a style choice. Congrats on Minnesota by the way. That's awesome. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. I'm so anxious now that admit time is in full swing.
Congrats on Minnysoder!
You've had a pretty good week yourself...
Thanks spaceinvaders. I was completely shocked to see NYU so early. I can't believe it. Congrats on your acceptances thus far and best of luck on the rest. I'm sure you'll have some great news too.
Thanks, good luck to you too and congrats about W&M. Cornell wants a second LOR from a professor of mine (I have one from a prof and one from an old boss), so I'm waiting to get this semester's grades and figure out who to ask. What section for UMich did you apply to? I applied Summer/Fall
I totally agree with you. That is a lot of money. I didn't mean to sound like I was scoffing at it. I think I'm more overwhelmed by the cost of law school even with the scholarship than anything else. But if I do end up going to W&M, it will be nice to have such a nice package.

I have definitely considered it, I feel like its getting a little late to send them out now, I would have to get another LOR for most of those schools, which takes a few weeks. In retrospect, I wish I would have applied to Vanderbilt very early in the process. Best of luck to you with the reach schools!
great application tips. though it is too late for me now.
Thanks for the advice, You inspired me to send out UTexas app that i had saved. this morning and I'm going to look into a few others. Thanks again and I hope the acceptances keep rolling in for you.
just wanted to let you know that i watchlisted you...
I'm pulling for us at UMich and UCLA! good luck this cycle
In at WashU today!
Seeing as you've gotten into W&M and Minnesota - I'm sure you'll hear from more. You'll get the notice of how much the scholarship is for in the mail. They're too classy to do it over the phone! I was lucky because I'm a Virginia resident, but our numbers are borderline for a number of the T6-T10 schools, so I'm sure you'll have some good fortune!
shhhhhh, don't say that about Vandy too loud! I can't even begin to think about how happy an acceptance pre-Christmas from them would make me feel. Oh, and on the area around W&M, check your LSD PM's.
You put some really good advice in your diary. Best of luck this cycle! It's waiting time...

I've seen you say that Cornell is your first choice. After reading how important a BIG city is to you, I was wondering why you were so set on Cornell. Care to share? I'm really into Cornell too, btw. :)
Heh. You knew my GPA before I think. You had commented on my profile towards the beginning of the cycle. I'll send you my GPA on LSDAS.
Congrats on L&C!
Yeah, they're the real deal. If there had been a reach school in the Pacific Northwest, I would have applied to it. I love this area and absolutely refuse to leave.
I'll always root for a numbers twin.
I think this looks great for you. It's too early for WL at both schools, and neither will straight up reject a 169 per the data without something really pulling it down. I'm still complete at Vandy. Hopefully that changes tomorrow. You should email Vandy and ask for a PDF in an email of the decision.
I think it's too early for a rejection...we're probably in. Let me know if you get that pdf. Good luck.
Congrats on Michigan; you must be thrilled! Top choice?
CONGRATS! I'm sure you're excited. Know which ASW you're attending yet?
On Michigan!
Congrats on Michigan! Woo!
wow, congrats on michigan! cornell still your top choice?
Congrats on your inspiring cycle. I think its just so wonderful that you overcame so much adversity and had your dreams come true. Good luck at whichever law school you choose!
Congrats on an AWESOME cycle, so far - especially UMich! I went complete on 1-14, but doubtful of anywhere near a 5 day turn around time. Hope to see you in A2.
You rock! Hopefully I'll receive it in two days then. I'm from MI, but I'm living in Georgia now, so that's pretty close to TN. Congrats on all the acceptances.
That's awesome! Is Cornell still your first choice?
Hi "spaceinvaders," I'm sorry to see that Columbia rejected your application for admission. I am still waiting to hear back from them. For my benefit and the benefit of others still waiting to hear back, could you please tell us if your Columbia "My Columbia" status checker says a date or just "decision" or what? Thank you in advance for your response, and continued best wishes for you this cycle. Sincerely, aniedrich84
congrats i'm still shocked about mich, too. where u leaning?
won't be at the weekend, unfortunately. I think you can do no wrong with either, really, though the "highest hours studied per day" stat concerns me a bit, haha. Of the schools accepted, I'm definitely going to Mich regardless of finances. I'm really not expecting anything from HLS and CLS, but I'm really hoping UVA comes through. Then it'll be a fun game. But even if they don't, i'd be pretty damn happy going to Mich by default
Hi spaceinvaders, Thank you for the heads up on the CLS status checker site. Also, in answer to your question, I will be at UMich's ASW in March. Are you going?
on all the awesome acceptances! Where do you think your headed?
Hi spaceinvaders, Yes, I've been very involved with animal rights causes for years. I've been a vegetarian (recently turned vegan) for about 10 years now. If I do go to Michigan, I am almost sure I would join the ALDF. Yes, we should talk about animal rights while we're at the March ASW! I will look forward to talking to you then! -aniedrich84 - aniedrich84
On the veggie/vegan note, I don't understand some people's choices, either. To each their own, I suppose. I will plan on looking for the tall guy at Michigan's ASW. See you then! -aniedrich84
Cornell or UM? Which Cornell ASW are you attending?
I'm 99% sure I'd choose Michigan if I got in, though I think I have a waitlist coming. I started on my LOCI already just in case (such that if it does come, I can get it to them asap). Vanderbilt and Texas are actually both still in it. I'd really rather not leave the south because I don't like the cold (I'm from the north originally), so I'll be looking for excuses not to be up north. Nevertheless, it'll take money from both UT and Vanderbilt to me to go there. I'll be visiting Vandy and UT in a drive with my girlfriend over spring break...and then Cornell for the April preview day (if I haven't heard any good news from Michigan). When are you planning on going to yours? Any closer on your decision between Cornell and Michigan?
Glad to see that things went very well for you. Wheres it gonna be?
I'm still waiting to see if anyone else comes through with scholarships/financial aid. I hadn't even been considering Wash. U until they offered me a scholarship which definitely got my attention.
There's a small chance I'll go to Michigan--but I think I'll end up in NYC. :) Yale is definitely out of my league--but I never wanted to go there, just Harvard...but I don't expect to hear nice things from them. :P
Congratulations on a great cycle!
first off, congrats! if you are not attending Lewis and Clark law school please open up seat for others. i really appreciate it. thanks and good day~
Hi spaceinvaders, So, did you go to the Cornell ASW? Any decision on where you'll be going yet? -aniedrich84

lol to the above poster. But, yeah, seriously... Spaceinvaders!! No!! Unless that little black A was misplaced two rows, ... I'm momentarily very saddened. :P
Hi spaceinvaders, That's great news! Remind me again, are you summer or fall start? I can't wait to see you there and hopefully participate in the animal rights law student group with you. Go veggies! -aniedrich84
Haha, no I didn't tell Cornell that I "would go there" if accepted, simply that they were my top choice... which they were. At that time, I wasn't as interested in Michigan for whatever reason. But once I got accepted there and heavily researched it, and went to the ASW, I loved the hell out of it. I also never wrote a "why Michigan" essay. But yeah, I'm a little self conscious about it, and feel kinda bad. Its like going out with the perfect girl, and then dumping her after you connect with an even more perfect one :-P. Not exactly cheating, but not exactly graceful either.
we have similar numbers and i'll be watching you this cycle. we're applying to a couple of the same places and i wanted to say good luck.
