Wow I should really read my post before hitting submit: To me, it doesn't make sense to mark it as deferred, since I am now in the regular pool along with all of the none EA applicants. I am now pending just like them. I will remove the EA from the Texas line.
Hi I was wondering how you found out you were complete at Northwestern.
Anyone exhibiting that kind of parental love deserves the best. Good luck.
Hey, Do you know how long after Baylor made their decision you got your letter? Online it says they sent out a decision to me on the 21st, but I still have nothing. They didn't email me either.
Thanks for the comment. I'm sure your letter to UF is on it's way. Your numbers more than fit what they want plus you've got a CE major - quite rare for law.
Don't worry about UM. It's still way too early. I went complete a month before you did. Good luck!
Ha, didn't notice you were a fellow CompE before! We gotta stick together! Good luck with the rest of your apps :)
I saw your post on LSD and I am also hoping to hear from MICH before the year is thru. I went complete the same time as you so maybe we will get *acceptances* at the same time. I am crossing my fingures for both of us.
I also say a big congrats to you on all your acceptances so far! Good Luck with the upcoming decisions!
Congrats! If you go there the weather may *shock* you coming from Miami, but what a great school!
I have started to try to rank some ahead of others. However due to my age and having a family I am still heavily pondering the prestige vs. cost issue. As I have a chance to visit some of the schools, and find out about the remaining scholarship possibilities, I will then start to withdraw from the schools in which I am no longer interested.
Looks like UMICH is really having us wait it out this cycle. ARGH!
I don't think I was EA at Penn. I never received any sort of deferment. The first I heard after going complete was the Waitlist email. I have not yet heard from Vandy about money...
for UMich is over for you! It just must have made your acceptances that much sweeter ; ) . Congrats! You certainly deserve it and I am so happy for you. I know you really wanted this. Are you still leaning towards Umich or is $$ from other schools swaying you?
Thanks ShellBell! While Michigan has been the ultimate goal from the beginning of the application process, I don't see how I can pass up Northwestern's offer if I get no money from Michigan. Duke is definitely still on my radar as well. Hopefully things will shake out in the next few weeks.
Congrats on UT! Good to see some of the deferreds are starting to see letters!
Ok, seriously no surprise there, and my prediction came true :) Congrats, hope you get a fat scholarship next week!
I am also deferred at UT and since you have now been accepted, I wondered if you could tell me ... did they update the status of your online EID or did you get the letter without your online status showing as changed?
My status had not been updated the day I received the acceptance letter. I received it 3 dyas after they mailed it.
Don't forget, Texas has a money matching program with the T14, so it will cost as much or LESS than Northwestern.
nice job on the negotiation. I'm trying to do the same... about how much time passed between your request and their reply?
hey, looks like you got the wigmore at NW. just wondering if you had to submit your FAFSA et al in order to accept the offer. seems to me it's a merit-based award, so i'm wondering if i can get away with not submitting my FAFSA and still geting the $$. by the bye, congrats, looks like you did great on your apps!
rcr2135, It took about a month after I talked to Dean Hoye, before I heard back.
I don't think you need to submit a FAFSA to accept it, but I would call the financial aid office just to be sure. They have been very helpful to me.
I saw on LSD that you're heading towards Duke. Congrats. Looks like we have somewhat similar situations (W.E., married w/ younger child). Look forward to meeting you in Durham in August.
It's nice to know at least one person will be in a similar situation. My son is 2 y.o. I met some current students who are parents at the Open House. Not many of us but a few.
Duke over Northwestern with 2x $$$?!?
makes sense to me (but, then again, I did the same thign). No sense having a 2 year old in Chicago! Looks like there will be quite a few of us parental types in the 1L class this fall. Feel free to email me if you want to ponder/worry/complain/brag about life with a toddler.
Thanks for your comment on LSD. GL, we have very similar numbers!
