Work-part time during school year and in the summer I work full-time with the District Attorney's office.

Have helped run local elections and have also been involved in other cummunity activites.

Update 11/30/10: Since I graduated in May 2010 I have worked full-time at the Montgomery County DA's Office in the Case Control Unit, the Fugitive Unit, and Victim/Witness Unit.

Additional info & updates

Final Update: I will be attending Widener School of Law in the Fall 2011.

Update: Temple is taking forever to give me a answer. Maybe that is a good sign, but who knows.

Update: Received a rejection letter from Drexel. This can only mean I will not be accepted to Temple. Looks like I wll be attending Widener in the fall.

Update: Received PSU rejection letter. Three schools down, two more to go--Temple (#1 choice) and Drexel.

Update 3/3/11: So far I have been accepted to Widener and Roger Williams. RWU gave me a scholarship of $10,000 a year ($30,000 overall).

Update 2/15/11: Done sending out applications. Now I will wait.

Update 1/27/11: All my application are sent. I only am applying to local schools. Hoping Widener or Temple except me. Do you think I should have schools outside of the state just as backup?

Update 1/6/11: Received my LSAT score. I got a 153. I went from the 16th percentile to the 56th percentile--huge jump.

Update 12/17/10: I only listed the PA schools I plan on applying to right now. In the future, depending on my LSAT score, I will list other schools if need be. If my score is high enough to stay in PA that is what I plan on doing.

Update 12/17/10: Took the LSAT December 11th. I think it went well, but who the hell knows! Right now I am thinking through my personal statement. Anyone have any thoughts? I have everything else set up--LORs, and Applications--just waiting on my score ( I know I should just send in my application, but I am hesitant since I don't know my score). I am hoping it is at least a 150. My fingers are crossed. Probably the last time I am going to put myself through this process, very stressfull all this waiting.

Update 11/30/10: Well this is my second application cycle. As you can see, the first cycle did not go so well. Mainly because my LSAT score was horrible. But, that was the past and since then I have studied my ass off. My LSAT score is in the 150s now, so my fingers are crossed. I take the LSAT December 11th. Wish me luck.

Update 6/21/10-- Well I have one school left. Looks like I will not be heading to law school this time around.

Update 6/15/10- NCCU rejected me because the 2010 incoming class was full ( I applied late). They told me to reapply in October for 2011.

Update 5/12/2010-- I have three schools that I am waiting to hear from-North Carolina Central, RWU, University of Dayton. At this point I don't know if I will even go to law school. A law degree is not what it use to be so I have a lot of decisions left to make.

Update 3/29/2010: I have been rejected by U of Baltimore. Rethinking my options now. Might go back to DA's office and work, and at night get my master of criminal justice. After a year I will reassess my options. Maybe apply for a Federal position or to law school again. Any suggestions?

Update 3/11/2010: I have been rejected by Dickinson and unfortunately Widener. My prospects of going to law school seem to be dimensioning, especially since I was rejected by Widener. I am hoping that an out of state school takes a chance on me. Does any one have any suggestions?

First posting: I have all my LORs into LSAC. I have sent out 5 of 8 law school applications. I have an excellent personal statement along with 4 excellent LOR. One LOR is from Chair of CRJ, One is from an Assisstant District Attorney, One is from Chief County Fugitive Investigator, and One is from a Psychology professor. I am thinking positive. I have a low LSAT score but that is the only think holding me back at this point.

Hey I saw your profile and we have really similar numbers...I'm retaking the LSAT's in December, but still sending out a first round of app's to get a feel for the process...I've been trying to let for schools that focus on criteria other than just LSAT too, let me know if you have any luck. So far it seems like they save those apps for late in the cycle....Good luck with everything

I wish you luck. I have the same LSAT score and I think we have our work cut out for us. Its in our best interests to get our applications in before December so make sure you are getting them in now!

I think your best bet is to retake your LSAT man. Clearly your resume, references, and gpa are strong enough but your 142 is really holding you back. I'm experiencing the same problems with 146. Good luck with the rest of your cycle.

Retaking LSAT

The reason I haven't retaken the LSAT is because the odds of my score going up are very slim. So I may wait and take it next September. But the other problem I see is the amount of people going into law school, which only means there will be a huge amount of people graduating from law school. Unless you graduate in the top 10% of class it is very difficult to get a job. So my opportunities may be going in a different direction. We will have to wait and see.

Hey hey hey. Apply to some tier 4 law schools. University of Detroit, Cooley, Ohio Northern university, Cleveland State, Mississippi college. Hell I say apply to so HBCU's, southern university, Texas Southern University D.C ect. I know you don't want to retake the LSAT so that is my 2 cents. Best of luck!!

Bro if you can get your LSAT to 150 you can get in to just about ALL these schools. Good luck. Apply to Michigan State too

Probably not, it takes them forever. Expect a 12 week wait. Mine was a 16 week wait .

First of all you are using one example in your life as a representation of Widener as a whole. If I wanted to, I could list person after person who have graduated from Widener and went on to do amazing things. A short list off the top of my head of people I know personally: the Montgomery County District Attorney, FBI Agent (2 and one was a corporate attorney before the FBI), DOJ Attorney (6), Head of General Counsel for JP Mascaro, Congress (4), and so on. Second of all, I am choosing to go Part-Time over Full-Time to save myself money. In addition, I have a full-time job at the Montgomery County DA's Office, which I love, and I also live 30 mins away from Widener. Lastly, the 30% attrition rate you mentioned is because Widener accepts people with low GPA and LSAT scores. So those with low scores, most likely, are represented in that 30% attrition rate you mentioned.

Hey which campus will be attending? I see your state says PA, I'll be at the Harrisburg campus
