Additional info & updates

Cleaned up this section a bit.....

12-3: FIRST ACCEPTANCE! Accepted at Suffolk via snail mail. Nothing about money or scholarships, just a thin binder and a typed reply with a nice handwritten note at the bottom. Yay!

12-13: Waitlisted at Notre Dame. Considering my numbers weren't there LSATwise I am EXTREMELY happy and excited. I plan on going through with the process and praying for the best! I really want to attend Notre Dame and am going to stay persistent in my dreams of doing so. Also received confirmation that I am complete at Loyola. Complete at all.

12-15: Accepted at Mercer via snail mail. No mention of money, sadly.

12-18: Made a 4.0 this semester so it bumped by GPA from a 3.7 to a 3.75. Maybe this will show someone that I'm still focused on don't get senioritis. Sent an updated transcript to LSAC last week so hopefully it gets in soon. Putting together a couple of new letters and an essay of why I want to attend Notre Dame to send back with my waitlist app.

12-20: ACCEPTED AT TULANE via e-mail. Extremely ecstatic and I believe I'm the first one who posted. I could not be more thrilled.

1-14: Waitlisted at Loyola Chicago. Will not be staying on.

1-15: Officially withdrawing applications from Suffolk and Loyola Chicago. I know how upset I would be if someone who didn't want to go to one of my top schools was taking my spot. Seeing that, I figured I'd go ahead and pull out early. Best of luck to all applicants hoping to attend either of these schools.

1-18: Waitlisted at the University of Georgia. Kind of ticked off because it is my state school, I am working for multiple lawyers who have attended there, and I did visit and show my STRONG interest for their program. I think they are trying to act elitist all of a sudden or something. Very, very discouraged.

1-22: Waitlisted at George Mason. Geez, was Tulane my last acceptance and am I going to have to change my name to Waitlisted Again?

2-7: Thanks to a post on my wall, I checked with UGA to see if I was waitlisted. Turns out they made an error and I wasn't. My decision is still pending. I received information today about being waitlisted at Cardozo via snail mail and was asked if I wanted to apply to their May program.

3-4: Held at FSU. Geez.......

3-14: In at FSU. Told through an accepted students day e-mail.

3-15: Rejected at my first school, Wake Forest. Dang, would really have liked to have had that option.

3-17: I'm guessing that the floodgates have open. I was waitlisted today by two of my schools, Loyola LA and Tennessee. Just give me another acceptance and hopefully some help off of these waitlists, please :)

3-20: Rejected at Baylor but told I would be accepted for Spring 2009 if told thme I was coming. Sorry Baylor, will not be coming.

Will be attending Tulane University in the fall

Have you thought about U of Tennessee?

I found out via the online status checker. I think it changed to "under review" on Monday and it changed to "admitted" on Thursday, so it seems like they're not taking too long deciding at the moment. Good luck!

UF?

Hi, I was curious about UF. It looks like you went complete pretty fast. Did you get an email from them or a letter in the mail? Also, how soon after you sent your app did they send you an email with the supplemental info and directing you to pay the app fee? (email me if you want, or you can just post the answer on my LSN page) Thanks so much!!!!

Thank you!

Thanks so much for the info and the quick reply. Best of luck this cycle. I'm sure you will be getting a lot of big fat envelopes with good news.

Looks like we got some of the same Fee waivers...I thought W&L and UI were a little out of my range but let's see what happens. Good luck with the acceptances.

I wish you the best of luck and enjoy your visit!!! Being rejected is part of the game... I still have 9 other schools to hear from and I may be adding some more safety schools... so I still have hope!

Hey, good to hear you liked UGA. What did you think about Athens? I'm trying to decide which schools to visit. I have a very limited number of days I can visit schools, so I really need to just visit a couple. UGA is high on my list though.

The building was beautiful, the class I sat in was fun, the students are nice, the people in the admissions office were great. Downsides: Congested area of town, and no sign of parking. Made me stressed just driving through there. It seems overrun by undergrads. Oh, and (for me) the Starbucks looks too small and too far away. That is where I do 95% of my studying. But I guess i can learn to get over that. Overall I had a good impression of it. I REALLY hope I get in... it would be nice to have an in-state option.

Hi! I was just wondering why you're such a loser? I'm not putting all that information about me on here! How was your bath!? :o)

Suffolk
Sunday, August 19 2007 at 08:00 PM

Do you think that no money in the letter from Suffolk means you aren't getting any? The other acceptances mostly seem to have a dollar amount in the scholarship collumn. Hopefully they'll spread the love around more. MP

Thanks for your comment and congrats on Tulane! I'm originally from the South and Tulane's a great school. Originally, I was all about Chicago schools, but Berkeley is looking better and better each day. Ultimately, it'll all depend on how financial aid packages shape up. I'm a bit of a home-body, so moving from the mid-west across the country is also something I still have to come to terms with. P.S. Happy Holidays!

damn, dude

You're giving me some hope for Tulane!

Thanks!
Thursday, February 08 2007 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Tulane as well. I'm up in New Hampshire so I won't be visiting officially. My brother went there for grad school, and I lived a hour outside the city almost my whole life so I have been there A LOT. Its almost a definite that I go there, some of other school would have to make a huge offer. If you have any questions, just ask.

Thanks, you too--I'll definitely be at one of their ASW's. Which one do you think you're going to?

UGA
Sunday, December 09 2007 at 07:00 PM

You might want to call UGA and double check to see if you've actually been waitlisted. They have been having problems with their status checker this year. It said I was waitlisted but actually they haven't made a decision yet.

Hey, Congrats on Tulane! I just got my acceptance~ Is that your top choice? Any word on $$$?

Thursday, February 08 2007 at 07:00 PM

I'm so heavily biased towards Tulane it isn't funny. My time in New Hampshire really wants to take me closer to home for school, and Tulane is such a good school I'll have a hard time turning it down over Houston or Florida. I probably won't be able to go down there until July, but I have my brother and best friend who live down there looking for places for me when summer comes around. I'm way too excited about increased my debt! What are you thinking about doing?
