Where are you from? My mom is from Barbados.

That's my passion too. Why are you limiting yourself to the schools you picked? Do you just not see yourself anywhere else?

Top Choice

What's your top choice? Right now I like the idea and vibe I am getting from Chicago and it's schools. But I am still undecided as to where I want to go.

Reading Comp

Kaplan did a great job with reading comp for me. I'd atleast buy their book and see what it says. In fact, Kaplan helped alot in general. 15 points!

Thanks

Thanks for the encouragement! It really made my day. This is my second time around so I am being more practical. Good luck on the LSAT. I am rooting for you!

Best Wishes

The reading comp section was my weakest point when I started studying for the LSAT, but I just tried doing a few a day until I got the hang of it. Have you been able to take any prep courses. If not, you can purchase real LSAT tests off the LSAC website. Good thing about Howard is that there are more law firms, etc. recruiting there than there are students, so as long as you go in and work hard, they say you can get a job.

Good Luck!

I found RC to be the most challenging at times soley due to the infamous LSAT time constraints. So I second the advice on utilizing Kaplan as a resource and taking as many real/timed LSAT test as you can in a setting comparable to the actual taking. It's really not a bad section at all once you grow accustomed to the process. Also, I have a friend who is a 1L at Howard now and she loves it there :) Wishing you all the best this cycle!

RC

Have you tried the road mapping technique? When I got the hang of doing the RC section that way, I did much better than when I tried to remember what I read where and why it was important.

Thanks for the wishes, hopefully your lsat in December went well. Also if your thinking about howard, i would say go for it. From what I hear (ive talked to a few former students) its a great school and the career prospects are on par with any t14 school.

Thank you. How did the LSAT go? Hopefully we both get into some of our top schools. I'm hoping that an acceptance is one of my christmas presents.

School Update

Yep...we do have some common schools. It seems like Howard hasn't sent much out. I only found out about Rutgers through the online status checker (that I had to google to get to). They still haven't emailed or sent me any mail. And Villanova has completely ignored my completed app since september. I finally emailed the dean. So I'll keep you posted if you do the same!

Decision

Absolutely not! Every time I think I'm close, someone else ups the anty. This time it was ONU. They called me today and gave me a very big grant that covers almost the whole tuition! I think it's an offer that I can't refuse...I'm going to pay all three seat deposits to buy some more time! On a side note, I know your cycle will go well so go ahead and start posting those proud numbers, acceptances and scholarship packages so I can be jealous! ;-)
