Additional info & updates

Just got back my second LSAT results. I got a 152, which is an improvement over my 146. I plan on writing law schools explaing why my second score should be considered more than my first one.

12/23 - Florida Coastal called today and offered me a seat into their Spring class. I declined and told them I would like to be considered for their Fall 07 class. It feels good to finally get accepted somewhere, considering Cooley turned me down last year.

1/8 - Got a letter in the mail today from Florida Coastal offering me a seat for the Fall 07 class. They also tacked on a $5000 a year scholarship. I am going to wait and see what happens with some other schools. They will reserve my seat until April 15.

1/12 - Letter in mail from Valpo stating that I was on the admissions pending list. This basically is a waiting list where I am one of the first in line once someone doesn't accept a seat.

1/22 - Rejected from Louisville. I am not too suprised. I kind of expected it. The head admissions guy there is a jerk. I met him a few times and he wanted nothing to do with me. I thought it was possible I might of gotten waitlisted, since I did apply to the PT program. I can only hope I get in to another school close to my home. Oh well!

1/24 - Accepted at Jones School of Law. They were recently provisionally approved and I have heard great things about the school. It is nice to have some options.

1/26 - Deferred @ NKU. I am going to send in additional info to them and try to meet with someone in admissions. I really hope that I get in there.

1/31 - Accepted at Capital

2/5 - In at Widener

2/5 - Rejected @ WVU

2/9 - E-mail from WVU saying that I was still being considered for admission based on my most recent LSAT.

3/18 - In at Northern KY. I will be attending.

Tough Position

Hey, sorry about your frustration. It is quite apparent that you LSAT score is going to screw you over. Also, did you apply late to many of these schools? Your best bet is to raise your LSAT score, otherwise you're going to continue on this road of frustration.

you can look at a copy of your answer sheet on your lsac account... it should tell you there whether or not you filled in the last 'c' bubble. as far as reading quickly goes, just take plenty of timed prep-tests until you can finish each section in 35 minutes. be sure to buy the 'actual' old tests. good luck w/ the retake.

no no no... you don't get it

you can view both what you actually responded to on your actual answer sheet... in a PDF (this is YOUR handwriting)... and you can view what the machine thinks you said... this is in a response/credited response format. this way, you can see what you what you actually wrote, and what it thinks you wrote; so there is no need for any aggravation. regardless, there is not much difference in a 147 and a 148.

The first time I learned the strategies, but did not apply them often enough to gain a strong grasp of them. The second time all I did to prepare was take the test over, and over, and over again. Hope this helps at least a little. p.s. screw Cooley you can definately do better.

You will get in this time.

Apply really early, you will get in this time. Also, if you retake the test you will almost definitely break 150. 146 is close, a few more hours of prep and you will kill that test!

What schools are you thinking about this time around? Are you waiting on your LSAT to determine this?

Jones

I am attending Jones. I will tell you this, it is the best school in the state. The professors are second to none, and the bar passage rate for last summer--at a 97.2%--was the highest in the state, beating out Alabama's 96%.

Looks Good

I know of a couple of guys with your same numbers that are going to Florida Coastal and Appalachian. I have been to visit both and honestly both are very amazing. You might also look at University of Tulsa and Washburn if you are interested in the midwest. I am from the midwest and have been to visit both of those schools. They would let you in and you might get money from Washburn. They are both fourth tier schools but have good programs. Also if you want to go to a higher ranked school University of Nebraska is ranked, but gets fewer applicants and it might be easier for you to get in. Good Luck though...I hope all turns out well for you and you get into a school you want.

Maybe I will see you!

Looks like we are applying to a lot of the same schools though...maybe I will see you at one of them! Keep me posted if you make any decisions. GOOD LUCK!

Waiting is no fun.

Are you asa nervous as I am?

Congratulations

Second time was a charm for me as well. Great job on the acceptance, scholarship, and improved LSAT.

I was am appying to UofL too, same LSAT as you, took it twice myself, I was depressed to know they wouldn't even take you at PT. But I wish you luck on the other pending schools! But I wish you the

I'm not sure yet what to think of this school. I applied because of the school's religious affiliation. I'm planning to visit the school in a couple of weeks.

Well, it has extremely high bar pass #'s arounf 97% and if you want to live in AL when you graduate, there are a lot of jobs that would probably be available to you. However, since it just recenlty got accredited, there are alomst no graduates practicing out of state so it could be difficult to get a good job if you move to another state. I am personally very impressed w/ florida coastal and depending on other schools i get into and scholarship $, I could very well end up there. they have a brand new campus and rising #'s. I have almost ruled out Jones. Good Luck wherever you end up!

Capital
Sunday, December 10 2006 at 07:00 PM

Capital is in colombus ohio so Obv. it is going to live in OSU's shadow but I do know people from there that have found solid jobs in ohio. It is a tier four so it would be hard to find a job out of the ohio area but it is a solid tier 4 school. Depending on the rest of your cycle I would def. consider it over the other 2 so far

Congrats on Capital! I was just wondering how long it took for Capital to request your LSAC report.

Nice job on capital
Sunday, December 10 2006 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on capital and your other schools. I am still waiting back from IU indy and Cleveland state as well. when they hurry up I can finally make a decision. What school is in the lead for you right now?

CSU
Tuesday, February 20 2007 at 07:00 PM

I was wondering if you were surprised that you have not heard from CSU yet? We seem to be in the same range for our grades and LSAT. I thought that I would have heard by now? Any thoughts?
