Congrats. I see GW is your top choice though, and since you've been accepted, can you please withdraw your applications from the other schools to which you've been accepted? Thanks. :)

No problem

I figure with most of the better schools they wait till the end and see how their minority numbers are panning out before they make desicions on guys like us with below par numbers

Howard

Yeah, I'm still considering Howard. US News rankings aren't everything, the scholarship's pretty nice, and it could very well be the best fit for me. In considering the life-altering decision I have to make, it's all about what feels right to me...even if no one else gets it. Congrats on GW and good luck making your decision.

I know how you feel about Penn...I am so grateful that I know now. I will definitely keep you posted on my decision, and do let me know about yours. You're in a good position to get in just about anywhere. Good luck on the last few.

I had to let HU go... I did not feel like it was the best fit for me from my visit. I hope you get your questions answered though! LOL

Yea.

Unless i get into Duke or Penn. Which is prob not likely so its prob gonna be GW.

Maybe

I'm still waiting on a couple other schools

where you going? i see st. johns sent some love your way...

GW vs. Howard...
Monday, March 20 2006 at 07:00 PM

I would go with GW. At the firm I am at now, over half of the associates went to GW. It is considered "midsize" but they all start at 125K. This firm does not even recruit at Howard, they go to Cornell instead - although Howard is 25 minutes away. From what they tell me, GW has a ton of respect in DC.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to Chicago, but I haven't sent anything yet. In answer to that GW vs. Howard question, what are your goals? Though US News and World Report isn't everything, not all law schools are created equal. GW does seem to be your first choice. Is that worth $150,000? Make your visits and do what's right for you...

sorry for before...
Monday, March 20 2006 at 07:00 PM

i did not see that howard is giving you a ride and GW is giving nothing. in that case i would probably go with HU.

Go GW
Tuesday, November 22 2005 at 07:00 PM

You've got to go to George Washington. Yeah you're going to accrue some pretty sick debt over the next three years, but this is going go have a pretty large effect on the your next 30. Besides, you do well at GW and you'll pay off that debt in no time. With that being said, Howard is an exceptional case as far as law school. Its status as THE historically black college would offset GW's reputation advantage. So if you're truly concerned about money at the moment, Howard wouldn't be a bad choice either. But definitely, if you're looking whats going to be for your longterm benefit, go GW.

hey
Monday, March 13 2006 at 07:00 PM

ill probably be gettin an apartment too... dont know where yet or with who either, but im trying to find something affordable within walking distance... i would like something with a parking space too, but its not looking likely.... its sad, but its cheaper to live in NYC then to live in DC... im kinda surprised... the one bedrooms are 1400, so i might get stuck sharing one of them or something... have you gotten the actual letter yet? im trying to determine when the deposit is due.
